Well someone’s settling in nicely. Though Magnus thinks the zombies were an unnecessary element. What I like about these tiny books is that they actually have the full story printed in them. I would love to find more, though. Authors like Jules Verne or Matthiew Reilly would be nice.

The horrible fate of a space marine… A bit of backstory for fun of it, the fate of a random side thing in a previous comic, as well as me musing on the amusing lore of Horusian inquisitors. Horusians are a type of radical Thorian inquisitors, seeking to find ways to resurrect god emperor via creation of an entity similar to Horus, where they would be able to hardness the power of chaos for the good of humanity, for chaos after all is not really anything other then a random force and energy in space, same way warp is used to travel, chaos can be used to purge the galaxy of filthy foes of humanity. Yes, these are loyalist inquisitors, not chaos worshipers, they are just rather…nuts variant of inquisition, don’t worry, most of them are kinda mad in their own ways. Here we see a personal project of one such radical inquisitor, dead word barer taken off a battlefield some 19-20 years ago, the body disasembled, organs taken to be examined and then using some less then “openly” known tomes rebuilt into a personal space marine for the horusian, as experiment to see how one could use powers of chaos to build spirit of god emperor a new, proper, stronger body! Also as side effect, to eat all the brains of chaos cultists and daemon summoners so that knowledge is not lost and can be written down and used. However, the time is now close, perhaps our inquisitor will get to see a divine vessel they seek, but as Thorian inquistiros fear, will the vessel be confused for a simple mutation or psyker and destroyed…or will inquisitor themselves fail in some way?
Yoo, big vacation time??? Any 11th edition hype? :D
I’ll definitely be trying WH40k 11th edition. My thoughts on it is mixed. I do like a lot of things, and some that I am uncertain about. The thing I like most is bringing back the point cost for weapons. I rather like gluing weapons/gears onto my model while considering the in game-finance I would have to dump into him for his tactical role. In current rules I think it was weird how a space marine with a boltgun is the same if he had a lascannon. This just forces players to bring the most optimal weapons while disregarding any other choices. The bit I’m most uncertain about 11th is the whole build your own army rule. It revolves around giving special ability to a single unit or unit type. I see this will encourage spamming many of the same units on the board rather than a broad range of characters. However we’ll see how it plays out when 11th is out. Meanwhile warhammer epic tabletop is bloody awesome. LOOK AT MY SISTER OF BATTLE PLATOONS HOLDING THOSE FORTIFICATIONS!!!
Some models are meant to be played. Some are meant to be admired. And then there are those that simply make you happy you managed to get your hands on them. Land Raider Excelsior. Idea hit me while walking home one day, while it took a while to draw, I did manage to put it to paper, as it felt that thematically, Emperor of unification wars was just another of the baddies you get in the Fist of the North Star series. To those not aware, this is where “you are already dead” meme comes from if you haven’t seen the series or read the manga, I do recommend, it’s really rather good and influencial. Regardless - here we go, what if 40k was a shonen instead of a wargame :P
A new project I’ve been asked to work on. One of the players at the local shop wants to have a Genestealer Cult army ready for the 11th edition. After a long discussion and various tests, we’ve settled on this scheme. The aim is to work efficiently and quickly so that he can have his army ready in no time. I’ll also be working on small batches of 20 to 30 miniatures at a time to avoid getting too tired. Commission work
