For some reason while I was on a page it showed me some of your conversation with whomever about earth being a nightmare world to you. I would argue that any world can be framed as a nightmare planet with enough effort. Earth is far from special.

Considering that the Emperor has been around since the dawn of human civilization, it’s borderline insane and very goofy that he decided a good chunk of the Imperium upper crust should dress like Ancient Greeks/Romans. Because there was a point where the Emperor was wearing hoodies and sneakers, probably. Office casual maybe. He might’ve had a Hawaiian shirt that he wore when he wanted to seem like a fun guy. He probably dressed as a 18th century fop at one point. Who knows. And when he got to create a society, out of allllll the styles he’s worn in life, he went with “Me and my sons are gonna wear chitons and togas and sandals, we’re gonna walk around like Socrates and his crew of Supple Boys at the Athenian forum. That shit rocks, it makes you look erudite as fuck” This really builds upon my headcanon that the Emperor is a weird delusional cosplayer. Let me go put on my lab coat, this is my science guy look. Let me go put on my toga, this is my intellectual at the Symposium look. Let me go put on my golden armor, this is my magnificent guy look. Oh god, he’s Roger from American Dad.
