Merlin rewatch – S4E 12: The Sword in the Stone 1 The Knights (mainly Gwaine…) Makes me happy every time Gwaine was being knightly~~~ Leon didn’t have to be captured this time. Yay xd Gwaine and Percival’s reaction to Arthur’s simpleton state was pretty funny, but also kind of dangerous?? Is that the only reaction you had to your king who was visibly out of it?? “Cool. This will do.” ?? They must have noticed that Arthur was a bit weird since they exchanged a significant look. I guess they just thought Gaius gave him something strong… but still. I hope Gwaine at least went with Arthur and Merlin. The he could stop to hold off the armies at some point. Standing there with Gaius just to get caught is so stupid… They didn’t contribute to slowing down the enemy in any way… Percival just… disappeared after this with no follow up. Welp. Not fighting the enmies, not in the dungeon. Where’s the angst of ‘the protagonist’s friends got taken down one by one to let them escape’? Or was it supposed to make us think he’s dead?? In the end Elyan was the only one who actually took down some soldiers who were chasing Arthur. Good on him. Badass Gwaine! Brutal too. Much more grotesque than killing with swords. And he showed no hesitation. It’s nice to see this side of the knights. They do kill people for a living. [S4E12] [other episodes]
