to me the leon/piers dynamic is like. leon’s king of the world, right. but the crown weighs heavy. he doesn’t see hop as often as he wants to and the pressure of it all gets to him and he’s the league’s golden boy but he’s not a person . hes an icon. a machine. but that’s the price you pay, isn’t it? that’s the price you pay. except that here’s this loser from spikemuth, right. who absolutely could power through the leagues if he wanted to but he doesn’t. he only does as much as he has to keep his sister fed and happy. and he loves his sister and he makes it look effortless. and raihan’s his best friend and there’s no weird silences in that relationship, it’s just pure unadulterated affection. and leon sees that and he burns alive because thats what he wants, thats all he’s ever wanted. piers mouths off to rose and he gets away with it and leon wishes he was half that daring. leon’s got everything he could want. and yet he wishes he could walk into a room with that easy swagger, he wishes he was loved as closely and deeply by his family as piers is by marnie, he shouldn’t want to be like some spikemuth rat but he does . and piers knows. of course he does. leon’s the gentlest, sweetest person in all the region, and he extends none of that to piers, not one bit. he walks into a room and he sees leon’s face twist into a sneer and he knows that rose took leon away when he was ten, knows that rose has been hurting him ever since. but he’s reached out to leon so many times and been burned. piers won’t set himself on fire to keep leon warm, won’t bow down to him the way others will, refuses to see him as anything other than completely, utterly mortal. and maybe it does make his heart twist. maybe he does, for once, want the warmth of the sun on his face. to feel like the loveliest person in the region think he’s lovely, too. but he won’t debase himself for it, and that’s the part leon can’t get over so they’re in a room together and the tension is sharp enough that you could cut it with a knife. leon makes some bitchy comment about piers’ clothes or hair or boots. piers says you want to fuck me so bad it makes you look stupid . its not true but it kind of is, there’s so much unspoken between them and they’re both too afraid to drag it into the light, to admit they were hurt by the same man, that the same worries keep them up at night, that they should be close and they’re not and there’s no way to fix it. leon’s fuming and he’s just like SHUT - eventually piers tips his wine into leon’s lap and leon doesn’t react like the perfect gentleman he’s been trained to be. raihan bundles them into seperate taxis but goes home with piers. puts his arm over piers’ shoulders and says softly lay off the champion, yeah? piers looks out the window and he doesn’t say anything at all

do we think leon ever had ‘championship matches’ with baby hop. sixteen-year-old undefeated world champion leon and his partner charizard facing down four-year-old hop and his newly caught wooloo. hop telling wooloo to tackle charizard and charizard fainting dramatically into the grass, playing dead. leon lifting hop onto his shoulders so he can parade around the house with the newly crowned champion of galar. and so on

admittedly i haven’t seen much of pokemon journeys. but hands down the funniest clip of it I have seen is the one where gou spends a solid two minutes explaining to a starstruck ash that it will take a very long process of battling for him to rise up the ranks and defeat leon. because leon is the best battler in the world and ash will have to fight off other competitors to get to him. AND THEN LEON JUST POPS UP AT THE END LIKE ‘hey i heard u were talking about me’ BRO. i nearly fell off my chair laughing its SO ridiculous

Professor-In-Training Sync Suit Hop ALT REDUX! (With Comic Down Below!) WOO! Much happier with this compared to the on paper design! Especially the Dubwool, and I’m happy to redo the comic so it looks nicer too! I tried to sort of replicate how the splash screen looks when you get a Sync Pair to a degree! (Just the relief of being able to fix my mistakes without the pain of eraser shavings and extra frustration of the paper is huge) For clarity of the design his Sync Suit is an oversized labcoat because he’s learning and growing into his role. Sharing this look to the two people who love him the most next to the SWSH MCs but also see him as the little brother result in his cool new Sync Suit being seen as more cute than anything. Comic Dialoge: Leon: Ah! BRILLIANT! Sonia: It is! But… the sleeves? Hop: Oh yeah… If I don’t role them up they just flop over. Leon & Sonia: ! ! Postwick Bros Art For Chapter 3 of my Fade Away Fic (Text from Fic About Scene Down Below) A yawn escaped Hop before he could stop it and Leon chuckled fondly. “I’d say it’s way past your bedtime.” He said, shifting on the bed. Hop stiffened. “Noooo!” Hop whined in dismay. His time with him couldn’t be over now he just got here! “Hop you need to get to sleep.” Leon stated, a mix of stern and amused at once. Hop shook his head. “But… uh isn’t there something else you wanted to talk about with me first?” Maybe he could prolong it. Anything to let him spend more time with his brother. Leon closed his eyes thoughtfully with a hum. From the smile on his face he clearly already has an idea and was just teasing him, but Hop would take what he could get. Leon opened his eyes, gold irises sparkling with mirth and something deeply affectionate as he turned to Hop. “Well, I do want to grab one of these.” “Huh? In a quick move he was suddenly engulfed in his brother’s arms and squeezed tightly to his chest. Hop let out a grunt of surprise but melted into the embrace. Leon chuckled affectionately, curling over him and squeezing him tighter. "Just getting what you owe me from the station.” “ Chapter 3 of Fade Away ” For context Hop usually greets his brother with a hug at the station but didn’t this time because he’s “too old” to do something like that. Leon disagrees. Posting this on here early before I add it to my fic since I’m adding another chapter tonight! I thought it’d be fun to add illustrations to the chapters every now and then! I love writing these two’s brotherhood it’s so wholesome! (Also Leon’s little hair wing thingies are driving me crazy, I felt like I can never get them right)

I can’t imagine having your little brother view you as an untouchable idol is very pleasant. I think Hop views Leon as a celebrity, rather than a brother.

If you play with Leon’s hair for long enough, he will fall asleep. So sometimes, if Leon is looking stressed or tired (usually cause he overworks himself to make up for the time he’s spent with Wes), Wes will have Leon lay his head across his lap and run his hands through Leon’s hair, and after about ten minutes, Leon is out like a light. Wes’s legs will go numb, but it’s worth it to give Leon some rest.

Fair warning this is gonna be long! I have. A whole thing between the Sordword and Sheilbert (the royal twins as i call them) and Leon and Hop both being seperate descendants of the first galar kings (Tarax, Hop & Lee's ancestor and Zacian's first 'trainer', and Lancelet, the twins ancestor and Zamazenta's first 'trainer'... but who knows maybe I'll have to fight when Legends Galar eventually comes out lmao) The two kings were best friends(💅)from the same small village in the south (what would eventually become Postwick & Wedgehurst) both were just teens when the first darkest day happened and they went on their journey to eventually find then wolves and stop Eternatus (who i also hc its current form as being the skeletal remains of the original dragon) The two get crowned after saving the region, and live the latter half of their adolescence trying to heal and build up the region after it was grazed and terraformed by the gigantamax pokemon. But eventually the wolves grow tired and go be placed to rest in the heart of the weald. it was pretty equivalent to loss for the Tax and Lance :[ so much so that they and their home village built the stone arch as a sort of alter and gravestone Tarax couldn't stay in the capital (what would eventually become Hammerlocke) anymore and moves back to their home village to live out the rest of his life behind the scenes while Lancelet takes the place as the face of the crown. Unfortunately that had a less than stellar turn out as Tarax's line eventually faded into obscurity while Lancelet's line eventually fell to greed (this was far after they both passed) The royal twins tried competing in the same gym challenge as Leon (and Sonia, Ness, and the others) to try and bring attention back to the royal family but even with their cheating they couldn't beat Leon(Sordward having a volatile one sided rivalry with him), both twins growing a deep resentment towards the Champion the longer his reign went on. So much so that they play Rose into trying to start the darkest day again. The royal family being the only ones with ancient books saved from bygone years. But! Of course low and behold the Champion's younger brother and his little friend are the ones who get their first and save the day before the twins could?! (Of course they dont consider the wolves p.o.v. or if they were even deemed worthy to weald even one of the legendary weapons) That's kinda why the twins antagonize Hop as well as try to discount the wolves as 'the real heros of galar' (only further cementing their unworthiness and the wolves favoritism towards Hop. They think Leon is good but has sadly been somwhat tainted by capitalistic greed) Anyways thank you for reading my nonsense if you did!!

I read all of this! (I love to read heacanons and story ideas in the fandom so many times its even better than what we get!) I absolutely love this whole idea! It’s a great way to tie in both stories much better and really explore Galar’s past. (kings and knights, like so much cool stuff we can get from it!) The Eternatus idea is so spooky 😨 it works so great with the skeleton design! Makes the Pokémon feel extra haunting in a way like how Zacian and Zamazenta felt like ghosts when you first meet them. The idea of the twins competing against Leon in the challenge I also love so much. One of my favorite things in Sword and Shield is the game showing how everyone is connected from their time doing that. It makes the characters and world feel more alive. I can totally see them being a part of the Challenge. (And failing so bad nobody really remembers them especially because Leon essentially became the MVP to the region and has been for years now) The burn to Leon 😂. I love him but yeah man kinda sold out with all those sponsorships and PR for sure! I blame Rose… we can all blame Rose for everything. Hop being the doggos favorite, yes all of this please. It’s such a nice way to show how he IS important as himself and not trying to be something he isn’t. Also love the names of the former kings you have for them. The name Lancelet really reminds me of Lancelot and as someone who finds the King Arthur Legends with the knights interesting I love this. (If we do get a Legends game in Galar it does make me wonder if they’ll lean into Arthurian stuff in general too!)
