UNTIL IT WASN’T — VOLUME 1 What started as random sketches, late nights, and ideas in my head slowly became something real. This story means a lot to me because parts of Kai, his struggles, his loneliness, his pain, and his growth come from real emotions and experiences. Volume 1 is only the beginning of a much bigger story. A story about loss, purpose, survival, and finding light even when life keeps trying to bury you in darkness. I think the main reason I felt that way was because the first couples just weren’t my favorite tropes so it’s just a personal taste kind of thing. I enjoyed multiple of the couples and I liked having this big out-branching story with different tropes/characters but still one central couple to follow through on. I’m glad I kept reading this one!

This is one of my favorite drawings I have ever created. I completed it on 11/18/2024. This is my “manga” art style/art technique. This is the same character that is in the previous post. As for her name, I haven’t really decided on one yet. I thought Akira sounded cool, but apparently there is an anime that is heavily associated with that name. I might call her something else because of that. This was actually quite a tricky drawing to do. I generally draw male characters, so I don’t have female anatomy memorized super well (yet). I’m working on it, though. I took some advice from one of my sisters who’s better at drawing women than me, and that helped a lot. I really like how it turned out looking like a mixture between semi-realism and anime. Tools Used: A mechanical pencil, a dip pen with maru nibs, DELETER ink (I believe it is the water proof one), DELETER screen tones, an exacto knife, a graphite blending stump, and an acid free sketchbook (I always recommend using acid free sketchbooks/paper because they help prevent the paper your art is drawn on from yellowing over time).
one shot cover. i usually start with the cover before anything, though I forced myself to actually doodle some character designs for the MC. his name is dud. the one shot itself is about the feeling of moving on from a break-up. guess where my head has been at recently lol. anywaysies, i’ll update when more is done.
