gonna use my ramble post for today to just say that im completely against generative ai. if you show me something made with ai, i will reevaluate having you in my life. im not joking i would rather drop a 100 pound weight on my foot than use generative ai for anything. if you use ai it tells me that you dont care at all for the creative process and you need instant gratification even if the cost is doing irreparable damage to the planet we live on.

I’m actually going to raise hell. Someone used my email as well as my photos and fed my art and other artists (picrews, official art I had saved, fanart I had saved) and fed it to AI. Specifically ChatGPT. How did they do this? Well, I have my IPad for art. I bring it to my coding classes and it goes missing during class but always reappears at the end of class. I thought the teacher was taking it because it’s not a mandated device (and non-mandated devices must stay on the teacher’s desk during classes to prevent cheating or, you know, USE OF AI.) Turns out it was one of my classmates using it for ChatGPT because I open my IPad to find the website still open. I’m very pissed about this.

I drew my friend today, I drew her by hand. Because AI is shit and you don’t need it to make art, it’s not a tool. AI can make an “pretty” image, but it will never capture the soul of art. Every artist is different, we all drew things a bit differently. We have personalities, quirks, preferences, our own sources of inspiration and our own style. And AI could never replicate that. Artists will be okay. We will never get replaced, trust me. As long as we’re alive so is true art. And I will protect art with my life.

Fourteen fanfics I’ve posted in AO3 and ALL of them were stolen to train a fucking AI. I worked hard on those fanfics, I put all my love into them, several are even written in English even though that’s not my main language. I learned English and wrote them in English because I wanted more people to read them, I was so proud of them and now they were taken to train a stupid tool for lazy idiots to generate a poor imitation of my soul. I feel really bad seeing all my work being used like this against my will. I know they’re fanfics, stories written using already existent characters and universes, but they all have a part of me in them, it was my own particular extention of those worlds and my special way of writing I’ve developed through the years that represent the way I see the world… I’m so pissed and sad right now. They pulled all of the beautiful things we poured our souls into, the things we made with love and shared, and they gobbled it down to regurgitate it into slop. Just got suspended from reddit for telling AI people they aren’t creating jack shit but exploiting an abused system to have commisions made without empathy involved. I fucking hate AI people. They just LOOOOOVE to say that AI is going to gain sentience and become one with us and then proceed to abuse the shit out of every currently existing “AI” model out there. And this before getting into the fact that “AI” isn’t even intelligent. It’s more of a really good guesser than it is a thinking thing. “Applied Generation” would be a much better name for these programs.

I just found out that all of my fucking ao3 fics were scraped to train a fucking ai. I had no clue until I saw a TikTok talking about it. I did some digging, and if you want to check to see if your fics was scraped as well, if it has an ID number above 63 200 000, then you are safe. If it was locked or restricted, you’re most likely safe as well.
