Jesus fucking christ THE GODDAMN AGE VERIFICATION BULLSHIT AI DOESNT FUCKING WORK. EVERYONE WORKING ON ROBLOX KILL YOURSELF. GENUINELY
Frictionless AI Technology Someone said that AI makes work “frictionless”. This is, of course, bullshit, leading me to retort: That technology is only “frictionless” when it slides unopposed across smooth brains! And so, I imagined an animation where AI indeed slides across a perfectly smooth pink semicircle (intended to be a brain) going “wheee!” like one of the turrets from Portal , then moves across a picture of a brain, bouncing off every ridge and making “ow” sounds like the turrets from Portal . How do I rip assets from Portal , while we’re at it? Because I have the game, I just need to get the sounds and do a shitty animation in Hitfilm.
It occurs to me that the linguistic use of AI to mean only LLMs, despite being inaccurate (or, at least, not inclusive of all things AI) might be drift in the sense of Previously, we’ve tended to ignore any artificial intelligence in the sense of automation or pattern recognition or robotics. That is, once we have it, it ceases to be “AI” and becomes “just how this works”. But we personify LLMs to a degree, and companies attempt to use them in place of humans to a degree, (and perhaps because some humans are so eager to transfer their agency to them), that despite LLMs being “just how they work”, calling them AI seems to have stuck. This as a function of our perspective of what AI “looks like”, culturally. something like that. hn. interesting.
This reminds me of an old conversation where I expressed surprise about “AI training course” that was supposed to take a whole week. Guys. If anything, some actual literacy goes a long way with AI, because you can at least give a clear description instead of imbecilic baboon grunts, which gives you an edge when using open-source algorithms that don’t have any special idiot-proofing subroutines or curated data models to please your average moron. You don’t need a whole week to learn the meaningful things. Or the money that a whole week of “training” most probably costs.
AI can chart a course to disaster faster than humans can notice Headline: AI can chart a course to disaster faster than humans can notice Publisher: Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists Date published: 25 May 2026 Selected text from article: Earlier this year, researchers at King’s College London gave three commercial AI models —GPT-5.2, Claude Sonnet 4, and Gemini 3 Flash—a tabletop exercise typically used to train human military strategists. Each system played the leader of a nuclear-armed country in a Cold War-style standoff. The researchers didn’t instruct the models to escalate. Nor did they tell them to win at all costs. They presented the models with a scenario and asked them to play it out. Across 21 simulations and 329 turns of play, the models chose to use tactical nuclear weapons in all but one game. No model, in any run, chose to surrender or make meaningful concessions. The models researchers used had the same built-in safety rules that are in place when conversing with millions of people every day. And the rules worked exactly as designed. As a result, no move was by itself concerning. But the overall direction of play was, and no mechanism was in place to catch alarming trends. The failure to govern a path is not limited to wargames. The same pattern—individually safe actions building toward a dangerous outcome—has shown up across every major AI model. Currently, the safety rules in place for AI models govern each action. Nothing governs the path, which leads to destinations that in many instances can’t be anticipated, by routes assembled in real time. As more autonomous systems are given consequential tasks with less human oversight, the risks from ungoverned paths multiply. […] Nobody tricked these models into escalating. The safety rules ask a question about each action in isolation: Is this step acceptable? They do not ask the question that matters: Where is this heading?
It’s starting to get morally hard to play ROBLOX lately, apparently they bought some AI company and are now really excited to start heavily pushing out AI generated games on their platform. like. ENTIRELY AI generated. Not assisted, not ai code or one section, the ENTIRE GAME was created by a single AI I’ve never been one to be super against AI, I don’t like getting into all of that stuff, infact I personally believe that AI is going to do great big things soon to further advance our tech and research and our people maybe, BUT. I’m also not fully with AI, I don’t like AI generated things like art and games and writing, I REALLY dislike AI “artists” or AI “Developers” which are popping up more than ever before trying to claim they can do what people who have devoted months or even years of time to advance their skills in something almost exactly like or even better than someone with that talent. Especially lately I’ve started to lean further away from AI as a whole, because I used to, still do, and always will know that AI generated ANYTHING has no soul, no emotion, no meaning for existing. It can exist and it might make some people look at it once or twice but it has no REASON no MEANING for existing, a person who draws something like a character is making something to show people to let their creativity show to the world someone who makes a video is entertaining an audience and letting people see what they like and what interests them, or people might guide others, make food, invent something, it all has a reason because a person made it to give it a reason. AI cannot and never will be able to give something it generates or something is explains a reason for existing other than “this person wanted it.” and that’s exactly why I don’t like AI generated things, but that’s getting off track TL;DR: ROBLOX has an AI generated game that they want people to play, and it’s making me morally struggle to play ROBLOX now
“New Form of Imperialism”: Renowned U.N. Scientist on AI Boom’s Huge Water, Carbon & Land Footprint Headline: “New Form of Imperialism”: Renowned U.N. Scientist on AI Boom’s Huge Water, Carbon & Land Footprint Publisher: Democracy Now! Date published: 12 June 2026 Selected text from article: The environmental toll of the artificial intelligence boom continues to mount as tech companies use ever more power to run their data centers and enormous amounts of water for cooling. A new investigation by U.N. scientists warns that AI’s water use in 2030 will match the needs of 1.3 billion people, while its power use will be triple that of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nigeria combined — countries with a total population of 650 million. “Most people understand AI as a digital technology, as a virtual thing, as something that is in the clouds,” says Iranian environmental scientist Kaveh Madani, director of the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health. “What we tried to do in this report was to remind people that there’s some physics to all of this.”
Właściciele frontowych modeli będę chcieli monetyzować i monopolizować wszystkie wartościowe produktowo i cywilizacyjne zastosowania AI. Oni sobie załatwią wyjątki, kruczki prawne i inne takie chujozy, natomiast cała reszta zostanie zredukowana do roli plebsu żebrzącego z miską jak to niedożywione dziecko z Olivera Twista. Każdy idiota bełkoczący o zakazie AI jest idiotą pożytecznym dla OpenAI, Anthropica i całej reszty tej bandy. Najwyższa pora to sobie przyswoić.
Today at work the dishwasher broke like mid shift and I had to hand wash plates n shit and for us Monday is the busiest night so it really was just awful but then my coworker pulled out chat gpt to try and figure out what’s wrong with it and that really was the cherry on top of a really shitty day.
