#pride month rambles

on the same day i picked up sea of stars, i also picked up voidling bound, a game made by some of the folks who worked on the skylanders games! and its really really good! as someone who is fascinated by all things related to creature design, the voidlings strike what i think is the perfect balance between cute, cool, and creepy. for example, the first voidling you encounter, the kwipeck, is a bird-like voidling with big eyes, a featherless body, and a beak that splits open into four parts. kinda more creepy, right? but then, when you actually go to pet it (yes, you CAN pet the dog), it closes its eyes and turns its head into your hand, which is such a cute decision. its definitely not the COOLEST design in the game, but its still one of my personal favorites! also theres an elemental system, and im a big enough person to admit that i would fall for a box-and-stick trap if you put a game with an even moderately interesting elemental system under it.

I should have realized I was queer when I was 8 years old and wanted to go to Menards with my Dad so I could inspect the grills and debate lawn ornament prices with him. I was a middle aged man with a ballet bun and now I dress like a middle aged man with a ballet bun.
