! BATTLEREPORT ! its been a while since i remembered to post one of these but i played a game of Battletech today with my freshly painted Jade Falcons and they performed great ! teams were: me representing Jade Falcons and fielding Nova Cat, Nova, Fire Moth, and four points of HMG Elementals. enemy representing Comstar’s Enforcers fielding 2x Hunchback, Marauder, and some funny orby guy i cant rember the name of. so to start, in bt initiative is rolled every round and whoever wins moves second so they can respond to the actions the losing player takes and i lost EVERY ROUND so game started with Jade falcons strolling onto the battlefield and in particular the tiny, barely armed or armoured Fire Moth sprinting full tilt straight to the center of the battlefield and others following less quickly behind. Comstar entered the battlefield slowly and cautiously, keeping to a tight formation. shots were fired with only the Nova Cat’s four large lasers landing hits, obliterating the front armour of one hunchback. Turn 2 all mechs began to gather close to the center of the board, with the Fire Moth unloading it’s carried unit of elementals before being promptly removed from service via the concentrated fire of two hunchbacks. Said hunchbacks took fire from Nova and Nova Cat but not enough to fell them, one of them falling over and taking fall damage in the process. The Elementals carried by the Nova Cat also disembarked, increasing the Jade Falcons’ presence in the battle Turn 3 Comstar mechs began to back off, Falcons mostly holding position and already Disembarked elementals moving into position to begin climbing over the hunchbacks and Peeling them. One hunchback being swarmed attempted to scrape the exosuited supersoldiers clinging to it off, and in the attempt punched itself in the cockpit, instantly killing its pilot. A second Elemental Point also began swarming the second Hunchback, and the Marauder got up close and personal (and handsy) with the Nova Cat. Turn 4 the remaining Hunchback began a hasty retreat with its unwanted passengers, and the Marauder initiated a Death From Above attack (jumping steppies on enemy’s head) upon the Nova Cat. In doing so the Marauder got utterly Melted taking fire from 2 mechs and 3 Elemental Points, totaling 90% of its damage tolerance. The attack was successful, and resulted in both mechs being knocked over. Turn 5 the Hunchback attempted to run to water to drown it’s attackers, but succumbed to the can openers before it could make the distance, and the Marauder was finished off by Elementals tearing it’s legs off. Top of Turn 6, Comstar surrenders with only one untouched but surrounded mech remaining. Of 20 Elemental Supersoldiers fielded, only One died, and they made every kill for the Jade Falcons those little guys kinda scare me lmao
An introduction Hi there! Name’s John, welcome to my little project blog. Trying to be more purposeful with my hobbying, I struggle to maintain motivation and focus so I’m hoping by documenting my journey I can try to find a more productive path, and a more creative and fun one too! I got into Warhammer in 1998 (I was only 8 years old!) when a friend introduced me to some inherited metal Space Wolves minis and a cardboard Ork dredd, I was immediately kinda obsessed. For the next 10 years I bounced around from idea to idea; I had a pretty sizeable army of Tyranids, around 3000 points of Bretonnians (which is maybe more impressive when I add that it was a peasant army, my only knights were peasants riding boars!) and countless smaller armies and painting projects (including a not so small Forge World fire dragon), if money wasn’t an object I’d probably have owned enough models to fill a small mansion. I then moved to university and didn’t have the space to keep my models with me, and much to my chagrin a year or two later my models were thrown out as my parents moved house and with that my interest in the hobby all but disappeared. The announcement of plastic Sisters of Battle got me back in (I once spent an entire flight home from Florida in 2003(? I think) writing lore and a 10k point list using the old SoB Index, but never made it a reality) and since 2017 or so I’ve been kinda sticking a toe in, then retreating again periodically. I’ve gathered a small force of Sororitas, a very HQ heavy collection of Dark Angel stuff, a sizeable chunk of Tyranid models that remain unpainted (I couldn’t work out how to do them justice at all) and some other odds and sods, including painting up the base Cursed City set. There is one kinda big issue, I live in the middle of nowhere, I can’t afford to run a car and public transit is…well, saying it “is” anything is a bit generous, so I can’t *play* Warhammer, which is largely fine, the hobbying aspect was always my preferred part of it all, but it does make it difficult to remain enthused about projects as there’s no real…point. I’m not really good enough at painting to paint stuff for paintings sake, and I love coming up with lore and having that reflected in my painting and modelling decisions, so I’m always drawn to big army projects, so I find myself starting stuff, losing steam and then just sorta quietly quitting until I can feel the spark again. So, having been very impressed by the Cathay stuff for Old World, and yearning for square bases and regiment trays, I’ve decided to try and build an army up, and to try and keep myself honest I’m going to document it all, either in the hopes of making myself stubborn against the notion of quitting, or to try and learn what parts of the process really get me ticking, as it can be difficult in the moment for me to really gauge, and hopefully shape my hobbying habits to be more healthy, enjoyable, engaging and ultimately fruitful. So welcome to the blog, I look forward to bringing the Fēn Dynasty to life!
10/01/2025 How to live with the impulses 👽 [Mattgew blog 01] Hello! My name’s Matthew and I’m learning about myself. Welcome to my blog! I will be following here a little journey of following the things that interest me and avoid starting things that I will never finishing 😁 Talking specifically about the title of this, I’ve been discovering some things that clear my mind. I were walking and then, I discovered that I work by impulses. That said, that means that probably I’m starting thing only by the pleasure of doing something that feels new. To avoid wasting my time and literally just feeling frustrating with the way I develop my interes, I have a massive list that consist in all my hobbies consolidated on a physical space (because I LOVE writing everything manual) -pictures attached bellow- (please apologize my shitty handwriting, I’m trying something new) And since I was a big and chunky man that’s literally so confused with their life, I started searching for some platforms, but the main concern is that literally the trust pilot reviews are shit in every cases (lol) I also jump to the conclusion I need to buy individual courses (and working on them individually) and I will be able to proceed! Also, there’s a lot of things in the list that have potential to became hobbies 🤭🤭🤭 and that the time that I’m going to dedicate to the courses are 6 months/ 1y I’m so excited to start this new path!!!
Bohemian & Austrian infantry, Napoleonic wars Perry Miniatures February/June 2025 This year I’ve made a bit of a return to my beloved Austrians with a few more additions to my ongoing - and largest to-date - Napoleonic project. It’s still slow going (who wants to rush through an entire army when you could drag it out for yonks??), but here are the latest two bases: Bohemian landwehr and classic line infantry. I decided to make the switch from the earlier helmets to the later shakos as I was getting pebbly eyes trying to endlessly pick out all the gold detail; I think it was the right choice, if for no other reason than to maintain my sanity.
French infantry, Napoleonic wars Perry Miniatures March 2025 The sprue-backlog-clearing continues with these French infantrymen from the late Napoleonic period. Two line infantry, voltigeur and grenadier from Perry Miniatures - great minis with loads of detail and character, even if all that white piping is enough to drive a man to insanity!

CLAN JADE FALCON’S OMEGA GALAXY IS READY TO SORTIE With Eight battlemechs fresh from the factories at their disposal, the mechwarriors of the Third Star of Omega Galaxy will be deploying to skirmish tomorrow! Their new arsenal includes: Executioner & Warhawk; Nova Cat & Mongrel; Cougar & Nova; Firemoth & Kit Fox; And Four Elemental Points Each battlemech has been branded with the emblem of The Clan and the four Points assigned numbers (such as the visible “3”) to help distinguish them on the battlefield.
This could go right, this could go wrong, or a mysterious 3rd thing in between
here’s KILLZONE VOLKUS !! I’ve been, again, a little obsessive over killteam lately after i remembered how much more FUN KT21 is for me so of course I need something to play it on! fully 3dprinted and with a fresh 5h of painting today, its done! (not including the scatter terrain because I’ve yet to get files to print of them) now I’m on to printing a variety of models for the compendium teams so I can have Options, and I’ve also got 3dprinting files of this one terrainset that would be a GREAT fit for gallowdark,,,
I finished the Ork piece for my friend. As much as I wanted to redo the base I decided to pass on it and experiment on my own models. Plus I’d hate to make it 1 inch taller and give his opponents a strategic advantage. So instead I used black light paint on top of a textured basing material. Overall I think it came out pretty well for my first Ork. My next project is my own skull cannon and ducking chaos with their immeasurable filigree will kill my hand and wrist.
