haruhi suzumiya is still so good the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya (涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱) is an anime who first aired in 2006, and became a massive success and representative of otaku culture it’s the first anime i ever watched, along with love live !! i remember it very well (*´ω`*) !! i was around 7 years old, it was easy to find anime episodes on utube back then . . . now i everytime i watch it (on dvd since it’s not on utube anymore) i get sooo much nostalgia ! i really think it has this atmosphere nothing else can quite remake
Sgt. Frog Volume 11 Japanese-Only Ads Followup to this post Post by @planettamama · 22 images The Japanese Scans I downloaded are different from the primary Japanese Scans you tend to find online. For some reason, my Scans are missing some ending advertisements. I got mine in a lot so I assume it’s based on slightly later printings? Here are those ads, as seen on… tha manga piracy site that has Japanese Keroro. I’ve namedropped them before Inner Pages - Keroro Activity Books Trading Cards Figures Shonen Ace (Featuring Haurhi) and KeroKero Land (A Spinoff that wasn’t officially translated to English) oh yeah, I’m back.
Digimon VA Trivia: Juri's VA is Yoko Asada, whose other roles include Tifa Lockhart, but only in Ehrgeiz. In English,Jeri is Bridget Hoffman, whose other roles include Ryoko Asakura in Haruhi, and Fuu Hououji in Rayearth. And in the original dub of the movie, Philece Sampler (Mimi and Cody) filled in as her. Meanwhile Leomon is still voiced by the same actors who played him in Adventure
I definitely think Juri/Jeri, Ryoko, and Fuu would all get along and be friends. They could form a study group!
Tbh if you’re watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya for the first time in 2026 and you skip endless 8 you’re weak of spirit

1, 4, 6 & 19 (I'm asking them all lollll. You don't have to answer them all tho!)
1 - Who’s a blorbo you’ve never posted about on your blog? Hmm, is there one…? Maybe Jake Peralta? I still love that guy (and not his profession, to be clear) 4 - What’s the thing you love most about your blorbo? Its obviously different depending on what blorbo we’re talking about, but a pretty common through line even among different categories of blorbo (see the final Q I responded to) is characters with a strong association to duty. Homura, Kirk, Erwin, Ritsuko… I really like when a character is super devoted to what they believe is right and honourable, even to the point of sacrificing other things or themselves for it. I like any character who I feel like I’d feel secure working under (ehh… This one applies more to Kirk than Erwin or Ritsuko, I feel like Erwin would use me as canon fodder and Ritsuko would only protect me if I stayed ignorant lol). But I really like characters who have an unshakable belief in something that I either also believe in, or can at least understand and relate to in some way, because that sort of strength of purpose is both comforting and… It leads the character to always be a little bit divorced from their peers and friends as a result of how devoted they are to their goal. I think that feeling of isolation, that idea of “this single thing must save me completely…” makes me want to comfort the character and be there for them. They’d give me stability of belief, and I’d give them comfort back. 6 - If you could talk to your blorbo what would you say to them? Nothing. Something is wired wrong in my brain, I can’t even talk to people cosplaying blorbos I’m into because I get too flustered. I can scarcely interact with roleplay blogs for that reason. (And on the other hand when it comes to child characters, they’re usually really socially cold and narratively tortured, so I still feel like I’d have nothing they’d wanna hear lol.) 19 - When it comes to blorbos, do you have a type? Quite a few, actually. I really like “teenage girl who is non-human in some way, and therefore acts like a detached freak despite craving connection deep down” (Akemi Homura, Noriko Sonozaki, Yuki Nagato, etc), “Scary calculating woman who is good at her job and probably has more than a slight disregard for morals” (Akagi Ritsuko, Kim Wexler), and ofc “pathetic sopping wet guy most would only pay attention to out of pity, who is usually convinced he’s really cool but in actuality is the lamest person you’ve ever set eyes upon” (Aforementioned Jake Peralta, Tamaki Suoh, Jimmy McGill, Jeff Winger, Reign Arataka, etc)
On Sigh and Live Alive Many fans spend more time hearing Haruhi talk rather than listening to what she says. If they did, perhaps they’d understand that her passion and deep empathy for the human condition can go from destructive to productive at the drop of a dime, with just a little bit of healthy support from her local environment. This sounds like the normal directional polarity of any teenage girl learning to find her place in the world, not an evil overlord. Her percieved inherent selfish tyranny is in actuality a direct result of her surrounding company being incentivized to not interfere with her energy, no matter what. Ironically, in their attempts to not rock the boat, they give the boat the freedom to rock itself.
terrible plan no1 When i get abit older i plan to start the SOS Brigade! I would gather other Melancholy of Haruhi suzumiya fans around my age, and then cosplay as the characters to recreate scenes! I would need more than cosplayers though, i would need people to record, help edit, manage a youtube channel, and they would also have to help out with background or side characters like asakura! It wouldn’t necessarily be people from my school, but people my age all around my town and the neighboring cities as haruhi fans are sparse I would also have us hang out normally for the first 3 weeks so i can make sure we work well as a team and friends in general, cant have people quitting in the middle of the project! It would be atleast the highlights from all 23 ( i think) episodes, and the most important scenes from the disappearance Any risque or scenes we are too uncomfortable to film like when they wear certain costumes i will try and animate it via rotoscoping; it will look bad but atleast it will be funny! (im a minor and so doing things such as wearing bunny costumes and putting on the internet is crossing a line) I will also need spaces to record. I can just go outside for places like a park or the library, but a classroom would be difficult to find. Maybe one of the SOS Brigade members would have an empty garage or an extra room we could use (or enough charisma to actually contact a school!) I already own a haruhi and yuki costume, along with an extra girl costume but we would also need 2 male costumes, potentially more wigs than just the yuki one i have, and extra ones like the maid and frog costumes! Along with props such as some tables, yukis book ( i would like to find a actual copy of the book she reads), fake knifes and such, a greenscreen for when the classroom is edited by asakura, scrap computers, and more! luckily i already have aton of instruments and hopefully by then i will be able to play bass so we will be able to do the arts festival scene If the club has more shared interest’s we can try other anime like deathnote but i atleast want to do haruhi Hopefully we would gain a little revenue from youtube, and cross posting on many platforms but it would all be donated props and costumes from all the members pitching in (mainly me though, i have alot i can use as props and a little bit of money at my disposal) Sadly i lack the social skills to gain members, along with the fact i cant run like haruhi due to medical issues but by the time i do this surgery should of taken care of all of that! If i cant find at least one coleader who doesn’t have any social anxiety that would be really helpful but for now ill just keep working on my acting and hope im a little more confident in the future :3
