My grievance with the Grinch Okay this is a rant typed just as I’m thinking so it could be a bit confusing haha ^_^ ANYWAY ! My ’ grievance ’ isn’t really with Grinch himself , but what’s become of him I guess ? If you didn’t know , part of Dr . Seuss’s inspo for Grinch and his story was actually his own hatred for how commercialized Christmas had become ( I’m sure you know where this is going ) . You see this dislike for a consumerism a lot in the Grinch media Seuss made himself ( and his other works lol ) and Grinches wake up to becoming a better version of himself is literally that ’ Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store ’ ! ! Obviously I don’t like Dr . Seuss as a person but I do find it sad that his work , and specifically how the Grinch stole Christmas , basically became a consumerism cow to milk tf out of after he died
I’m not sure what these r called ^_^ I actually made these back in February I think . ₊ ཐི༏ཋྀ ₊˚ ⋅ ۶ৎ - - - ⸝⸝ ༉‧₊˚. ₊ ཐི༏ཋྀ ₊˚ ⋅ ۶ৎ - - - ⸝⸝ ༉‧₊˚.

Across the Seuss multiverse: which took place first, Horton Hears a Who or How the Grinch Stole Christmas ?
Book universe: Horton Chuck Jones cartoon universe: Grinch Halloween is Grinch Night universe: Most likely Grinch The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat universe: Unsure, but most likely Grinch 2000- Grinch universe: Horton (you can see a statue of him in Whoville) Seussical universe: Grinch (since he retells his own story every year) 2008- Horton universe: Grinch (you can see him playing a tiny pan flute among the other Whos) The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss universe: As Whoville is replaced by the normal-sized Seussville here, it’s likely that Horton Hears a Who didn’t happen at all (but Horton Hatches the Egg did since the Elephant Bird exists)
For those who don’t know Grinch Night is a Dr. Seuss story where the Grinch is portrayed as a monster that terrorizes the entirety of Whoville whenever the weather pisses him off. The entire town is so terrified of him that they go into full lockdown at the slightest hint of bad weather. And Max, the Grinch’s dog, is with him at the start of this story and leaves at the end. That means this story takes place after How The Grinch Stole Christmas. I can only imagine what was going through the Whos minds that Christmas. The local serial killer, who nobody can stop, came into town on Christmas Eve while everyone was asleep and stole the entire town’s presents, food and Christmas decorations. Every single item. And he didn’t kill a single person. No wonder they all started singing. They were probably just grateful to be alive. And then he shows back up, gives back their presents and celebrates Christmas with them. He even cut the Roast Beast. The Whos were probably ecstatic. The nightmare was finally over, the Grinch wasn’t evil anymore. It must have felt like a genuine Christmas miracle. And then the next day he went back to his cave in Mount Crumpet and a week later he resumed serial killing. What The Hell?!
Ranking Whoville mayors Book mayor - 10/10, peek design plus he looks like a fun guy Ned Mcdodd - 7/10, not as memorable as book mayor to me but they did a good job and I like how he had to deal with the whole “known universe is a speck of dust that an elephant is holding on a clover” situation 2018 mayor - 5/10, a little bland but her design is cute Augustus MayWho - -♾️/10, no explanation needed
