Cannot for the life of me tell if this volunteer tree that I ripped out (and broke and am trying to essentially graft back together) is a white or red mulberry. Guides say the leaves should be like sand paper and not smooth, but they’re somewhere in the middle. I see white mulberries online that look like these leaves. They’re not high gloss, but they’re not completely dull. But the wood on white mulberries seems very yellow and this is more brown. I don’t know! Halp!
Being a scoleciphobic (afraid of worms) gardener is hilarious. Like, why are you deeply repulsed by the most beneficial garden buddy that is probably deeply horrified of you, an eldritch horror a hundred times its size, touseling its home around like it never mattered. Why do you have to take 2 showers back-to-back because you think one of them is hitchhiking on your body, and why does your nervous system go AAAAAAAAAHHHSSJDFJFJ THREAT DETECTED whenever one wriggles above the soil?
Broke my largest monstera by accident a while ago. First picture is its current state, last one is the last picture have of it undamaged. I tried to save it as it was but it didn’t work, then tried to get it to root vertically, put in a pot, but it started struggling (mostly as I have a chaotic schedule, so their watering and care is just as chaotic) and I ended up having to throw away the base and top and we’re left with this middle part that has 6 nodes. Didn’t want to cut it in more pieces, wanted even less to throw is all away, so we’re trying it like this now. I have experience with rooting variegated monstera cuttings, but much smaller. I’m curious how many nodes are going to activate like this. I also don’t know where I’m going to put it if it starts growing, but that’s a problem for future me. Whatever happens, I have another slightly smaller Thai Constellation, so I won’t be left without any. I’d still want to save this one as it was my second variegated monstera I’ve ever gotten.
I’ve been gardening for 10 years! I first started gardening during late May 2016! I was only 16 years old and I first planted flowers before I started planting vegetables. I can’t believe it’s been that long! I love gardening so much! To celebrate, I made sugar cookies with green sprinkles and writing, because gardeners have green thumbs!😊🥬🌿🌱🌸🎉🔟🌷🌻🍅🌽🥒
