HeroQuest a softcore Rpg / tabletop battle game in a collaboration between MB (Milton Bradley) and GW (Games workshop) a parlor game with a taste of the RPG-gaming world a dungeon with miniature monsters (close to toys) vintage memories play and fantasy por Danny Hennesy Via Flickr: A Swedish version of Heroquest the collaboration between Games Workshop and Milton Bradley… Here in an ad in a Swedish comic magazine… …I had the Danish Version, I got it as a Chistmas gift by my Aunt (English by birth but living in Denmark)… I can’t remeber ever playing it, since I was hooked on more hardcore RPG as a youngling, so was the rest of my childhood possy, both them in Denmark and Sweden… But I remeber reading the rules (in Danish) and assembling the furniture… …the rules I read because, I was making my own games from early age, the most liked was Future (without a The in front) a RPG heavily based on the Swedish Roleplay Drakar & Demoner which in it’s turn was based on Dungeons and Dragons… …the furniture in Heroquest was handy for our games of tabletop battle, mosty Chaos Renegade warbands in the Warhammer 40k Rouge Trader universe… …so were also the model miniature supplied with the game, I remember that the HQ Gargoyle figure usually had to preted it was a Bloodthirster greater demon, since I could not afford a real metal multi-part greater demon… …we just stuck the tiny Gargoyle on a big square plate and made use of our imagination… …but for those not heavely addicted to hardcore roleplay, this game might have been the closest many children and young adults came to play a tabletop battle game or roleplay… I had Space Crusade too, another MB and GW collaboration, that game we actually played from time to time, often as a more lighthearted game to rest our brains and nerves after doing more hardcore stuff… …another game that was popular was Drakborgen the original to Dungeon Quest Games Workshops english version, livenced to GW from the Swedish inventor or the company Äventyrspel… …still to this day I have never played the U.K. version… Drakborgen was great in that way that even my sister and her friends liked to play it, since it was not a hardcore RPG even the adults wilould play from time to time… …especially my mum… …yeah those great roleplaing days in the 80s and 90s, who needed beer and cigarettes then, oh wait our RPG-characters both drank and smoked, but not we!!! Peace and noise! / MushroomBrain in a quest for an unholy grail
