AIO- Someone left their laundry in the dryer and I waited 30 mins before moving it, received a note in return I went down to put my laundry in the washer and saw someone had used both dryers (there’s only two) I saw it had only 30 mins left on it so i was like okay cool my wash will take 36 mins they should be done. My washer was done and I went to get the clothes and theirs was still in the dryer. I waited for 30 minutes before moving one of the dryers into a laundry basket that was in the room (the table had dust all over it so i didn’t put it there.) I came down after my dryer was done to find this note. I emailed property management as i’m not going to go back and forth with notes with someone who clearly doesn’t understand shared laundry room etiquette. I just want to make sure I was in the right here or if I shouldn’t have moved their laundry. Reddit consensus: NOT OVERREACTING (NOR) (97% confidence) Top comment: “You did good on letting the managment know. We also had to do this before. And messaged the landlord on it. And it resolved after a few times Nor!” Notable explanation: “I had an apartment with 2 washers and 2 driers when I lived in Oregon two neighbors would wash their shit at 8am then not touch it again for like a day or two later so after a while I started literally taking their clothes out and throwing them on the dirty ass floor so they could spend more money by having to rewash their clothes. They reported it to my land lord and they issued and email saying not to touch others things. I continued they put in a camera after another complaint. I got caught on camera and fined by my land lord I did not pay it and then sent them an email saying I won’t be paying it the washer is 30 minutes the dryer 1 hour set a timer and don’t be a shitty person to which they agreed and dropped the fine. They then issued an email saying to set a timer and other people need to do laundry too and you can’t monopolize the laundry room. It stopped after that. NOR toss that shit” View on Reddit Originally shared by Trull22 on r/AmIOverreacting on June 16th, 2026 at 12:36 AM UTC. Credit to u/No-Form9508 and u/Angstycarroteater for the quoted comments.
RFID laundry tags help solve challenges in textile and linen laundry management. Available in various materials, including PPS, polyester, and silicone. Machine-washable, high-temperature resistant, customizable, and easy to install. Reduces labor costs and enables textile tracking.
One of the only things I truly loathe about living in a major city is that doing laundry is the biggest scam. $5 for a wash cycle, $7 for a full drying cycle!! Robbery!! I’m now paying the bulk cost of just giving my laundry to the next day wash and fold service down the street that charges $2.50/pound. That ends up at about $150/month in laundry cost. CRIMINAL!
I have a cold but I also have a laundry time slot that I need to use if I’m going to get clean clothes to wear this week. (For an explanation of Swedish laundry room culture see here and here .) But my brain isn’t working, and when I went down to the laundry room to move the clothes from the washing machine to the tumble dryer I found I had forgot to add the laundry detergent. Well, it will be an experiment. I don’t have energy to rewash it with the detergent even though I technically I had time left in my laundry time to do it.
