All this in 43°C…literally killed me. I tried cadence drills and it didn’t improve it very much (156-159 from 150) but my hips, ankles everything is super sore 😭 I dunno if it means I did it right or just injured myself. I’m very happy I went cuz I’ve been skipping running for days thanks to this brutal heat. Oh and new hr unlocked : 206 💀🙏🏻
Absolutely savaged myself for how hard and terrible this run felt but then I sat down by the river for a bit and remembered… 1. It’s my first outdoor/trail run since last autumn 2. I haven’t ran in 2 weeks and only been able to run 4 times this month due to injuries (tendonitis in my knee and some minor shin splints) 3. I’ve had 0 appetite and haven’t eaten a proper meal in a week for god knows what reason 4. I’ve only been back running for a bit over 2 months anyway So, of course it felt hard. But 2 miles nonstop with all that in mind isn’t too bad 🥳
I have a garmin 735xt that I love. While a more basic model at the time, it has hands down performed better and lasted *years* longer than multiple fancier models I had before it. However, the band notch I use recently broke and while I was moaning about having to get a new watch and really not wanting to 💸💸💸💸 right now, my practical husband told me I should just get a new band online. Which I did, and yay! I got this punchy blue color, to replace the broken teal one. But what I noticed on my hike this morning is that now my watch has a cool two-tone vibe because of the teal button on the watch head. So I now love my watch even more. (Except that the automatic start/stop on runs specifically has been glitchy for about a year so I’m still casually thinking about a replacement. I’m eyeing the forerunner 170 as it seems like the most equivalent to this one? But I’m also not rushing it).
