#Zooming in (order), a ginormous thank you to Nancy Giordano and Emma Pezzack from Play Big Inc. for asking me to two-step with them and the University of Calgary — to help host their inaugural Global Business Futures Leadership Summit. ULTIMATELY, there’d be no “there” there were it not for Oleksiy (“Oleks”) Osiyevskyy (who has, by far, the coolest first and last name) and Leah Bortolin from University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business for their persistence to create a space for leaders from North America to talk regionally and better plan for the future. (With great participation from their MBA students). Big props to Leah for scoping out Nancy to be a keynote speaker and advisor to the summit program in the first place… and for @yarrowk for creating the space in HATCH Mexico 6 months prior where Nancy and I actually met, and I unknowingly came to Nancy’s mind for this summit in Canada. (Yes, please - and thank you!) Yesterday, a regular Farm-to-Family (Local Fare Barrie) customer surprised the team with gifts of absolutely gorgeous poinsettias.🌱 It was so thoughtful, festive, and unexpected.🌠 I’m the most awkward gift recipient in the world, so I hope I was able to show enough gratitude at the time that they know just how much this kindness is appreciated. 😅 It’s my first ever poinsettia, and my houseplant jungle has graciously accepted it into their company. They say we don’t get to choose our family, but if I do get a chance, I’ll choose them all over again. ✨ Appreciation post for my familylove as January 2022 ends.
