So…looking back on my First Demo impressions of Adventures of Elliot, I mentioned how my biggest gripe was organizing my Magicite Boxes. The new system is definitely a big improvement! I use the Magicite Screen to edit all my boxes at once, but don’t have to equip and reequip to do it. Instead, each weapon type has a box and whatever you have equipped is used. So my Sword Magicite and Boomerang Magicite are currently what I’m using since those are the two weapons (I don’t like keeping Bombs or Bows equipped unless I’m actually using them for a puzzle or enemy that requires them…because if I hit the wrong button I waste ammo). As I mentioned in that post…the devs are good about taking feedback and that was one of the points of contention for multiple people. It’s one reason I love their games, as they do listen to fans and want to make their games the best they can.
Okay, but that feeling about wanting to be perceived but not having people interact with your work? Like I’d love to create a commentary channel and talk into the void. But no way in hell do I want people to know who I am. Or even have an opinion about my thoughts. I think this dissonance explains a lot of people’s reaction to getting negative feedback. It’s all fun and games but actual criticism (well intended/constructive or not) is a reminder that you are being observed. People form opinions about your work and maybe about you. That’s terrifying and overwhelming. To me at least. Of course it’s still on the poster to consider potential repercussions and what’s actually entailed. I also understand the exposure of the internet is truly unfathomable.

Why is it so hard to leave things that we entered into so easily? In a brief and deeply questionable moment of maternal devotion (read: mania), I signed up for an online “marketplace” while searching for grain-free pizza for my son.Marketplace is doing a lot of work here. It’s a supermarket. Let’s not get fancy.Within approximately four minutes, I realized two things:1. They had nothing else I wanted.2.
