Currently, I want two things 1-a book with original characters about knights falling in love (recommended to be from different kingdoms) 2-a book with original characters where the prince falls in love with the villain, and the princess either helps them or is just expecting to be dealt with like a normal princess Please, if you guys know any of these, tell me !!!
Every Taylor Song Reading Challenge | Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) Ours : Read a book with a heart on the cover. I was browsing through a used book shop in CT with a friend when I realized I hadn’t yet picked a book for this prompt. One minute in the romance section and voila! I stumbled upon this book, saw the hand heart (bonus points!!!), and I brought What Happened To Goodbye home with me. I was really excited to read this as I typically love Sarah Dessen’s books ! While i did end up liking this one, it’s probably my least favorite out of the books I’ve read from this author. This novel focuses on Mclean Sweet, a child of divorce . Ever since her family fell apart two years ago, Mclean has moved around with her dad, a restaurant consultant, reinventing herself with each new town she visits. She doesn’t say goodbye; they just pack up, leave, and move on to the next town - hence the title. This novel is really more coming of age story than it is romance novel, but there are certainly romantic moments. I actually really appreciated the friendships more than the romances in this story! Ultimately though, the story didn’t feel special or resonate with me the same way some of Dessen’s other books have. It was entirely too predictable with little to no action or suspense . The conflicts were surface level and there was very little depth to any of the characters, in my opinion. It’s a good book if you need a quick read , but it does not serve as a good representation of Dessen’s writing. ⭐⭐⭐ A YA coming of age novel with themes of broken families , reinvention , and finding yourself .
Into Message~ Right. So, in this particular blog of mine, I am planning to post snippets of my book. (I’m still on my second draft at the moment) I want to build hype and a community for said book. So I’ll be posting art, quotes, and other shenanigans that aren’t canon to the story. (PLZ DO NOT STEAL MY ART I BEG YOU) It’s my hope this will serve as a jumping-off platform for me whenever I finally get an official Insta and stuff. Of course, anyone who is on here will be the first to know when the book is actually out, and maybe I’ll have something else… idk. TLDR: cool art and fun times :) Again. Don’t steal my FRICKING art. NO AI. Nothing you will ever see on any of my socials will EVER be AI. I will be bad at stuff and proud that I’m still learning.

Pride and Joy by Louisa Onomé | #BookReview First things first. Can we talk about that cover? Seriously. I know we aren’t supposed to judge a book by it’s cover… but… I’m a marketer. That’s kind of my job. Right?? Before I even read the synopsis, I found myself staring at it. It’s bright, beautiful, and full of life. After finishing the book, I appreciated it even more because so much of the artwork connects back to the story itself.… Pride and Joy by Louisa Onomé | #BookReview
I finished Granite Mountain by Brendan McDonough and just…wow. The dedication that hotshot firefighters have for their work, their coworkers, and their families is something that needs acknowledgement. He was the lone survivor of his entire crew during a fire and my heart broke reading him having to deal with the aftermath of surviving.
book 6 of 2026: A Drop of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ okay i am LOVING this fantasy mystery series. it’s got the brilliance of sherlock and holmes but the setting is so mysterious and mystical and witchy and i love all the plant and monster magic its just awesome!!! as always i love din and his melancholy ways. i think its so funny to have a main character who’s so sodden cat but also beautiful and knows he’s beautiful and uses that knowledge to get laid and then get berated about getting laid too much. the mystery of this one was super fun as well and had so many twists and turns. also MALO MY LOVE such a fun character bennett really needs to start writing some more young women a couple things i didn’t love: because it’s the second book, there was less to discover about the world and i thought it felt a little repetitive at times. i also think that while the mystery was gripping, it didn’t always have that same sense of danger as the first book did, where very real harm could be done to the main characters. i’m also not sure where this story is going in terms of kepheus and din… sabudara was cool but obviously not meant to be anything more than a fling and there’s a lot more to be explored with kepheus, i just hope bennett does it in a refreshing way that adds to the plot. or maybe din gets a new serious love interest! we shall see… i did enjoy getting to see some more of dins human sides in this book, since we’re so often just wrapped up in his thoughts. i would love if he starts to come to conclusions on his own too anyways an enjoyable read and i tore through it in 2 days, so a nice break after my last monster book!
Just finished “Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World” by Haruki Murakami, a dual-narrative magic realist/fantasy story. The book is split into two first-person narratives, following two unnamed narrators. One takes place in modern-day Japan with our first lead who works as a human encryption system, hired on to mentally encrypt data, and his dealings with various people in the data economy. This part of the book is also written like a Raymond Chandler novel, with the narrator being alternatively snarky, stoic, and introspective to the various dangerous situations he finds himself in. Our second narrative takes place in a nameless town populated with nameless people, where our narrator has just arrived. He quickly has his living shadow cut from his body, loses his memory, and is sent to read dreams from the skulls of dead beasts. This part of the story is written more as fantasy, with our protagonist looking to explore the mysterious town and conspire with his now independent shadow. The real core of the story is the interplay between these two narratives and what they mean to each other, with the introspection of both narrators giving us a flavor of the sort of people they are and what they occupy their time with. What’s most interesting is that despite all of the fantastic events taking place in both halves, it’s clear that the narrators experiencing life is the most important thing, so a mafia-style shakedown receives the same level of importance as doing laundry. Seeing mystical otherworldy images takes on the same significance as watching someone dig a hole. All in all a very interesting look at the only thing that truly matters in the world: how you experience it.
Every Taylor Song Reading Challenge | Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) Innocent : Read a book about forgiveness. WOW. What a powerful, emotional, gripping story. While based on real life events , the author calls this a work of fiction. Your House Will Pay focuses on two different contextual moments in time. Starting with California in the 90s when LA is experiencing civil unrest after Rodney King was beat by police. We are introduced to Shawn Matthews , a 13 year old Black boy out for a night with friends and his older sister Ava, who he idolizes. They’re planning to go see a movie. The second moment is in 2019 after another act of police violence against Black youth and the Black Lives Matter movement gains momentum. It’s then that we meet Grace , a Korean woman in her 20s, who is sheltered, oblivious, and at times ignorant about the racial tensions in the US and her own city. Over the course of the novel, we learn how their two stories, families, and histories are connected . Chapters alternate focusing on each character and their family. Despite the heavy topics, I really enjoyed the reading experience. There were surprises I didn’t see coming, emotional moments, and hard choices to be made. I read this book in just 3 days, reading about 75-100 pages at a time because I just could not put it down !! I’m not familiar with the rest of Steph Cha’s work, but I would absolutely read something by her again. And if you haven’t read Your House Will Pay , please do - this should be on everyone’s reading list ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ a suspenseful , well-told story about racism, violence, and modern American culture

A brief potato-ish review of “The Mistake” by Elle Kennedy Elle Kennedy is a name I didn’t think would pop up on my reading list again, and yet here we are. I spent my last weekend binging the first season of Off Campus, and to my utter surprise, I loved it more than I expected. Now, why was I surprised? Because I read “The Deal”, the book that the season is based on, when I was a young sprout and even back then, with my underdeveloped frontal lobe and… A brief potato-ish review of “The Mistake” by Elle Kennedy

Close Your Eyes by Chris Tomasini | #BookReview Every once in a while, a book comes along that feels like sitting beside a fireplace while someone tells you a story they genuinely love. Or like the moment in “The Princess Bride” film where you’re the child in the bed, hearing their favourite story. That was exactly how I felt while reading Close Your Eyes by Chris Tomasini. And as a Canadian reader, I always love discovering and supporting… Close Your Eyes by Chris Tomasini | #BookReview
Book Review: StarSide by: Alex Aster Post by: Jessica Starside By: Alex Aster Cover: The cover is nice. I am not sure it’s eye-catching. It probably blends in with all the other books with swords on the cover. But the dragon and the sprayed edges helped draw me in. Story: ★★ So this is a quest story where every 50 years 50 people compete to go on a quest into the land of the gods and get a cup full of magic to bring back to… View On WordPress
