Peter Hedegaard – OP3 Peter Hedegaard began his career in the 1970s. He learnt the craft in the workshop of W.Ø. Larsen in Copenhagen, among other places – the legendary breeding ground for Danish “Freehand” design. The OP stands for “Own Shape”. In contrast to his classic models (such as traditional Billiards or Princes), Hedegaard used the OP stamp for his free-form pipes (Freehands). These are pipes in which he was guided primarily by the natural grain of the wood. Every OP pipe is a completely unique piece. Hedegaard’s grading scale generally ranged from 1 to 4 (with 4 being the highest grade, awarded to pipes displaying a perfect, flawless straight grain or birdseye pattern). A grade of 3 therefore indicates a pipe of exceptionally high calibre. The wood displays an excellent, dense grain, often featuring a very clean flame grain or fine straight grain. As Peter Hedegaard passed away far too early in 2008, the supply of his pipes is finite. Depending on the exact characteristics of the grain and shape, a Hedegaard OP3 can fetch four-figure sums in euros on the international collectors’ market.

„11 Mal ist Brauchtum!“ 🥨🏛️ Das war das BarCamp Bonn am 9. Mai 2026. Was für ein Tag beim #BCBN26 am Bonner Bogen! Wir trafen uns nun zum elften Mal zum offenen Wissensaustausch, mittlerweile schon eine Tradition in der Bundesstadt. ✨ Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt lag auf lokaler Vernetzung, Vereinsarbeit und Ehrenamt – natürlich wie immer völlig offen für alle anderen Themen von Tech bis Lifestyle. Ein persönlicher Rückblick: Katja Flinzner diskutierte in ihrer Session über die Frage ‘Ein gutes Leben für alle? Deine stärksten Hebel für Veränderung finden’ und stellte das Konzept eines möglichen ökologischen Handabdrucks vor (Foto 8). Anne Weller plädierte in „Präsentier wie du willst“ dafür, Erwartungshaltungen bei Präsentationen abzulegen. Sie empfahl Handlungsaufforderungen anstelle von Appellen, Mind Maps, Flip Charts oder Karteikarten statt Folien sowie eine dialogbasierte Reduktion und einen möglichen “Code Opener”-Direkteinstieg. In „Akten lesen“ erläuterte Markus Drenger (Foto 9) Transparenzgesetze und sprach über das Informationsfreiheitsgesetz (IFG), Open-Data-Portale sowie eine einsehbare und gute Aktenführung. Als Beispiel für mangelhafte Aktenführung präsentierte er WhatsApp-Chats vom Oberbürgermeister Guido Déus zur sogenannten „Hangelar-Affäre“. Thomas Riedel sprach über Google Trends sowie Datensammlungen für humanoide Roboter, Patente, ethische Fragen und bald viral gehende Roboter (Foto 10). Sehr persönlich berichtete Peter Hamm ( Der Entspannende ) über die Überwindung seiner Tumorerkrankung und erzählte u. a. Interessantes über den 3D-Druck bei der Entwicklung kleiner Tabletten. Wir waren wieder zu Gast bei der Cronn GmbH am Bonner Bogen. Die Dachterrasse mit Blick auf den Rhein bot den perfekten Rahmen für Deep Dives 🌊und Netzwerken in der Sonne☀️. Die Vielfalt der Sessions hat mal wieder gezeigt, wie viel Expertise in unserer Region steckt. Ein riesiges Danke an alle Session-Geber, Teilnehmenden und die Sponsoren, u.a. The partnership came about as part of the tongue-in-cheek advertising campaign ‘Once Upon a Time in Scotland’. Harrison Ford wanted a whisky that retained the elegant, fruity essence of Glenmorangie but offered significantly more edge, character and depth – or as he himself put it: “a bit more bite”. The blend of mature, older Glenmorangie stocks and the robust red wine cask finish gives the dram a very special dynamism. True to his minimalist nature, Harrison Ford gave his official, straightforward verdict after the tasting: “It’s nice. Signatory Vintage Whisky Cask Strength Collection – Glenrothes 30 y.o. When an independent bottler such as Signatory Vintage allows a cask from the Speyside distillery Glenrothes to mature for a full 30 years and then releases it as part of its renowned Cask Strength Collection (often in the exclusive sub-range Symington’s Choice), we are talking about an absolute premium whisky. A prime example is the current bottling from 1995. Typically, the natural cask strength after 30 years is still a robust 51% to 55% ABV. This ensures an exceptionally intense mouthfeel. Whisky of the Month: Caol Ila Distillers Edition Among connoisseurs, Caol Ila has long been regarded as one of the most reliable examples of the smoky Islay style. With the Distillers Edition, however, the distillery takes this reputation to new heights. While the classic 12-year-old is prized for its clear, maritime freshness and dry peat smoke, the Distillers Edition is significantly more complex. One might say it is the “velvet glove” among Islay whiskies – powerful, yet at the same time elegant and smooth. What makes it special is the maturation process: as with all Distillers Editions from Diageo, the whisky is first matured in charred American oak casks (ex-bourbon). It is then given an additional finish in selected sweet wine casks. At Caol Ila, Moscatel casks are consistently used for this purpose. This is precisely where the exciting contrast arises: the cool, maritime smoke meets a delicate, floral sweetness. The result is a whisky with depth, balance, and a remarkably long, gently sweet finish.
