It’s a hot morning in July at Nova Maldives , and dozens of women are lined up along the deck, waiting to try diving for the first time during PADI’s annual Women’s Dive Day event. The crowd listens to opening remarks from PADI AmbassaDiver India Black , a special guest at the resort who spent a week guiding guests through various ecological topics. And then, with excitement and a few nervous laughs, all the women present experience their first breaths underwater. Later, they’ll finish the day by helping harvest coral fragments and sipping a few specialty cocktails—but for now, the joy of discovery takes focus. ( Read More )
You equalize as much as you need! Go down slowly. I equalize a lot as I descend, probably every 5-10 seconds. Depending on how fast direct you’re going, that might be a lot of time equalizing your ears. You have to do it before you start feeling discomfort, and if the pressure in your ears gets painful, ascend slowly until it stops hurting. Then, very very slowly descend again! Any time you change depth, and go deeper, equalize your ears. Free divers are like mythical creatures man I dunno how they do anything they do
Magpie Crow Butterfly A Magpie Crow butterfly (Euploea radamanthus) landed on Shandon’s hand… which, by the way, had leftover popsicle drips all over it 🍧🖐️ I swear the butterfly paused, inspected the sticky spots, and thought: “Finally, a proper snack!” Points deducted for Shandon embarrassed about his sticky popsicle fingers 🙈 4/10 #MagpieCrow #EuploeaRadamanthus #ButterflyLanding #UnderwaterMoments #TinyDiva #StickyFingers #NatureHumor #CreatureCritic #ButterflyLife #MacroNature #InsectDrama #DiveAdventures #OceanOddities #BlackwaterDive 🦋🍧🖐️ via YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cG3Jr-Cz60k
After the events of episode 1 (Video 53), Jennifer paused on scuba diving. She wants to make another dive with Nicole. But Alice, who enjoyed seeing Jennifer in peril, is back for “more"! https://frogwoman.org/frogwomen-alice-nicole-and-jennifer-in-the-scuba-killer-episode-2-56th-video-of-project-f-8th-video-shoot #scuba #diving #scubadiving #rubber #wetsuit #scubafight #drowning

Flatworm Raiding Fish Eggs 👀 Yes… those are hundreds of tiny fish eyes staring up from their inside their eggs 👀🐟And they’re in the wrong place at the wrong time. Right in the middle of it, a Pseudobiceros gratus is taking full advantage of an easy meal 🍽️ Flatworms like this are soft-bodied predators, gliding slowly but feeding efficiently on egg masses and other delicate prey. No chase needed. Points deducted for making me sad for those innocent eyes! 4/10. #PseudobicerosGratus #Flatworm #MarineFlatworm #MacroDiving #WeirdWildlife #UnderwaterOddities #ReefLife #ScubaLife #OceanCreatures #creaturecritic via YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrdyroyG32Y
Tiny Translucent Shrimp Hiding on a Gorgonian Sea Fan This is a Translucent gorgonian shrimp, a tiny shrimp perfectly adapted for life on sea fans. 🦐🌿 Its nearly transparent body makes it almost invisible against the branches of gorgonian coral, letting it hide from predators while it creeps along the fan. If you look closely, you’ll notice something odd - one claw is much larger than the other. The big claw helps grab food drifting in the current, while the tiny one handles more delicate tasks. ✋ Tiny, delicate, and a master of camouflage. 7 out of 10. 🤿 #CreatureCritic #GorgonianShrimp #MacroDiving #WeirdWildlife #UnderwaterOddities #ReefLife #ScubaLife #OceanCreatures #Shrimp via YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8FROJXvNnQ
Transparent pea-sized anemone shrimp hiding in plain sight This is Holthuis’ anemone shrimp. 🦐🌸 Just like clownfish, these tiny shrimp can live safely among the stinging tentacles of sea anemones. They’re protected from the anemone’s nematocysts (its stinging cells) thanks to a special mucus coating that keeps the anemone from recognizing them as prey. ⚡ Their translucent bodies and colorful spots help them blend perfectly with the anemone, staying hidden from hungry predators. 🫥 Like all shrimp, they shed their exoskeleton as they grow. Right after molting they’re soft and vulnerable, so they retreat deep into the anemone’s tentacles for protection. 🛡️ Small, sneaky, and stylish. 7 out of 10. 🤿 #CreatureCritic #AnemoneShrimp #HolthuisShrimp #MacroDiving #WeirdWildlife #UnderwaterOddities #ReefLife #ScubaLife #OceanCreatures #Shrimp via YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkdWQF3gc-4
