Future-Proofing with UCP: The New Infrastructure for Agentic Commerce The e-commerce landscape has officially transitioned from “search and click” to Agentic Commerce—a world where AI agents don’t just find products; they evaluate and purchase them on behalf of the consumer. At the center of this shift is Google’s Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), a foundational standard announced by Sundar Pichai early this year to define the plumbing of AI-driven shopping. The… Future-Proofing with UCP: The New Infrastructure for Agentic Commerce
Seeking a mandate is campaigning You complete and utter clown. Seeking a mandate from voters is a campaign activity. It should not be paid for by taxpayer dollars, it should be paid for by your campaign fund. Which you should not have unless you are actively campaigning for an election that has been called.
‘MAID is not death on demand’: Physicians decry proposed Alberta assistance in dying bill | CBC News Some health-care workers who either directly provide medical assistance in dying or work in that field say they are strongly opposed to Bill 18 — which, if passed, would prevent doctors or nurse practitioners from administering MAID to patients if they are unlikely to die within the next 12 months. In a letter published in the Edmonton Journal on Friday and shared with CBC News, 25 health-care workers signed their names to make their opposition known. Continue reading
Recall petition for Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said to be in the works A Medicine Hat bakery posted to social media on Sunday, Nov. 30, that a recall petition for Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is in the works. The McBride’s Bakery post stated that Elections Alberta received an application to launch a recall petition for the Elections Alberta MLA on Friday. This information was also posted on the Operation Total Recall website, a grassroots campaign looking to recall the MLAs who voted to use the Notwithstanding Clause to force striking teachers back to work. When contacted, Elections Alberta said it cannot comment on applications they may or may not have received. Adding that once approved and issued, the recall petitions would be posted on their website. Continue reading
Did you see the Edmonton Public School Board's banned book list in response to UCPs nonsense order to ban "sexually explicitly" books? https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/alberta-premier-smith-edmonton-public-schools-banned-books-1.7621238
‘Vicious compliance’: Alberta premier decries Edmonton Public Schools’ banned book list | CBC News Honestly, good on the Edmonton Public School Board! Malicious compliance has its time and place, and I think now is the time and Alberta is the place
The voter roll thing in Alberta (my home province) just keeps getting worse and worse. I really hope that people in hiding due to unsafe situations who got doxxed are able to stay safe. I hope the separatist group that released the voter roll gets razed to the ground and is required to pay for all the relocations of people who got doxxed to their abusers.
So the Alberta UCP is trying to gerrymander election boundaries and…. I want to cry. I’m watching this government try to emulate the chaos below us, they’re being so opaque, actively covering up scandals and pushing separatism, and…. it’s just so much. It’s hard to feel like I can do anything, when I’ve already watched them abuse the notwithstanding cause on teachers and trans youth, not to mention the fact they’re trying to privatize health and education. Bit of a long shot, but if there are any Albertans here, please call your MLA and Danielle Smith’s office and complain about this behaviour.
so um my province’s conservative government is eventually reducing monthly disability support by $200 unless u can “prove ur unable to work due to severe disability”. Understanding ADAP: Alberta’s New Disability Program for the record: 1) ppl on disability support here already had to prove that to get on in the first place 2) disability support here does not reach the poverty line 3) 16% of ppl on disability support here are employed luckily i hav some money saved up. also my parents hav money. but lots of ppl wont be ok 🤷🏻♀️
2 Alberta judges under investigation after IJF reveals evidence of donations to UCP Alberta’s chief justice is investigating the conduct of two judges after the Investigative Journalism Foundation uncovered evidence suggesting they gave money to the United Conservative Party after being appointed to the provincial court bench. Judge Daniel Robert Pahl was appointed to the Alberta Court of Justice in 2002 and again in 2013 and currently sits in Calgary as a supernumerary, or part-time, judge. Records from Elections Alberta show someone with the same name made financial contributions to the UCP from Calgary in 2018 , 2022 and 2023 , totalling $3,535. Judge Gordon Kenneth Hatch was appointed in 2021 and sits in Camrose. Someone in Camrose with an identical name gave $262.50 to the UCP in 2022 , according to the party’s quarterly contributions report. Partisan behaviour like this would run against the ethical standards for judges. Continue Reading. Tagging: @newsfromstolenland @abpoli

Petition e-7027 - Petitions Petition to the Minister of Health Whereas: The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms exists to protect individuals and minority communities from discriminatory laws; Recent legislation enacted by the Governments of Alberta and Saskatchewan restricts the rights, dignity, and safety of transgender and gender-diverse people, particularly children and youth, including access to gender-affirming and medically appropriate health care; These provincial governments have invoked the notwithstanding clause to shield such legislation from judicial review, thereby preventing Charter challenges from being meaningfully heard; The Constitution Act, 1867 provides the federal government, through section 90, with the authority to disallow certain provincial legislation in order to protect constitutional principles and minority rights; and The use of extraordinary constitutional powers to limit Charter protections warrants careful federal review and response. We, the undersigned, Concerned Allies of Transgender Canadians, call upon the Minister of Health to Recommend and support, within Cabinet, the exercise of the Government of Canada’s constitutional authority, including the power of disallowance under section 90 of the Constitution Act, 1867, to annul or repeal provincial legislation enacted in Alberta and Saskatchewan that restricts the rights of transgender and gender-diverse people and has been shielded from Charter scrutiny through the use of the notwithstanding clause, and to affirm the federal government’s responsibility to uphold Charter rights across Canada. Alberta premier says new order banning school library books with sexual content coming soon | CBC News The Alberta government had hit pause on its order for the removal of books with explicit sexual content from libraries, but the premier says that pause will be short lived. Speaking at an unrelated news conference on Tuesday, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said new rules are on the way. “It’ll be paused for a couple of hours while the ministerial order is rewritten. The direction will be to take books with pornographic images out of the libraries and to leave the classics alone. I think that there was some misunderstanding of the order, so it’s being made clear.” Smith said school boards can expect a new ministerial order soon. Ex-UCP MLAs to join, rebrand Alberta Party instead of rebooting Progressive Conservatives from scratch | CBC News Two former United Conservative MLAs will join with the centrist Alberta Party and file to rename it the Progressive Conservatives, and they’ll abandon initial plans to launch a new party under the old brand that ruled Alberta for 44 years. Since Peter Guthrie and Scott Sinclair announced plans earlier in July for a petition drive to revive the PC party, two things happened to get them to change course, Guthrie told CBC News in an interview Wednesday. First, the UCP sent a cease-and-desist letter to the two MLAs turfed from Premier Danielle Smith’s caucus, warning them their claim to the PC name would violate the UCP’s intellectual property rights.
