I can’t believe it’s been a whole damn decade since the launch of the official brand LuxeSwap. It feels like both yesterday and a lifetime ago I walked the shores of this beach and prayed that this idea of mine would work out. I’ve had exactly no days off since then (well, and before) lol. But the 12 years of work that happened before the launch of the brand 10 years ago paid off. Our growth (ask anyone who’s seen our back of the house operations 😬) has been nothing short of overwhelming and I’m so thankful to all of you who trust in us to sell for and buy from. Ten years ago today … this early live recording from 2012 was becoming our very first cassette release. We supported the British Indie-Rock Band Wild Palms at the Druckluft Oberhausen that night. It was maybe our third or fourth show ever that we had caught on that tape release. The small but fine label sous les pavés released it on 50 limited cassettes - and only a very short time digital as a full album available - a good part of it were already sold at the release concert in Berlin’s ‘Zur Goldenen Kettensäge’ (pictures from that trip to Berlin included here), the rest of the tapes are floating around somewhere in the Ruhr area, we guess. The yellow cassettes (there was no orange coloured available) appeared in two different artworks by urban art artists bld and nuna, with a sheet card of each of the other participating artists. OS Live (2012) contains the so far unreleased Track Dirk Benedicts Blisters which was an integral part of many setlists for years (in various transformations) and was somehow strangely never been released in a proper studio version (except as a fine remix by our friend unmenge on the follow up record SEALED). We hope you enjoy. Take care, stay healthy and keep in mind that this is a timeflight back to our very beginnings (which was released even before SEALED that we actually consider our debut). But we are nevertheless proud of it. I chose to go with a playlist. I have absolutely loved being a part of this little ohana, and I can’t wait to get to know more and more about each of the citizens of Elias, and you guys as well! I am such a theatre kid, so I have always had a penchant for “I Want” songs, and I feel like Vanellope and Kida are really in their “I Want” phase. They have just come to Elias, they are searching for their purpose, forming relationships, and discovering who they want to be. I’m also a sucker for the straight-to-video sequels, so this Playlist is mainly comprised of songs from those movies. Again, a huge thank you to everyone here in Walt. (AOTD) I live in the US and a few years ago I actually visited a few countries in one trip - Spain, Portugal, France, and England. It was such a fun trip! We are starting to think about where we want to go next. I would love to see more of the Mediterranean. Today, I am starting a read along of Ten Years by Pernille Hughes. In it one of the main characters- Charlie - immediately takes off for the Americas after his fiancé’s death. He is so torn with grief, he feels a need to be somewhere not full of memories to help him heal. While Becca- the other main character- takes the loss of her best friend with equal pain but instead focuses on her career with a new drive. 10 years ago today I was dagnosed with type 1 diabetes. 🙃 It is amazing how good it can be treated today and how much progress there was in the last ten years. 💕 What seemed like the end of the world for 14-year-old me, is now a part of my life and just is. 😊 I still can’t believe it’s been TEN YEARS! 🔟 And yes.
