She’s back!😃💪🏽 Tamale is 🍗eating again, her eyes are brighter, she’s been in the yard, on the gangplank, up the steps and is now napping in her cage-free box. Whew! What a relief! 😅 Yes, the Amlodipine definitely made her feel yucky. I’ll have to consider next steps for her high blood pressure, but right now… right this very minute… Tamale is good 😺🥳. 😳 Tamale had me so worried last night and early this morning. Last night she was in distress, crying out to me, having a hard time sitting up. Looking around, disoriented, perhaps in pain, and definitely not right. Not good at all. Swipe: At 4:30 this morning she was still having problems-could be various reasons. But I doted on her, gave her water and she ate a little food with extra CBD. Sometimes fresh air helps. She spent an hour outside on her welcome mat this morning, resting, before I walked her over to this spot by the fence. By 10AM she seems better, not 💯 yet, but greatly improved. Anyone who’s ever had an old cat knows they come with ups and downs. But she has not had an incident like this since last November. I’ll be monitoring her all weekend to make sure her heart isn’t failing again. I’m already encouraged by her improvement this morning — last night was very scary and she’s slowly acting more like her normal self. 2AM - Tamale’s extreme thirst got us up. Listen to the videos for an explanation of events… I did give her fluids at 3AM bc she wouldn’t stop drinking and seemed upset. All is good now, but finding the balance between her heart and kidney issues is challenging. As you can see in the videos, I am so happy that she’s doing better now, with an appetite and lots of purrs. THROWBACK July 2018, when Tamale walked all over the place! She was already starting to have hip/spine problems but she absolutely adored exploring the Ranchito. This trek is short: our walks down to the creek we’re about 10 times longer. It’s kinda heartbreaking to know she’ll never do a walk like this again.
