ANDREW BOLT SIMPLY A “MYTH”, CLAIMS LOCAL MAN
An impassioned blog post suggests that alleged “journalist” and “person”, Andrew Bolt, does not exist. Penned by local Warrnambool man, Otis Fukanhaal, Bolt’s existence comes under scrutiny in the post entitled “The Bolt Myth: Why Weren’t We Told?” In the blog, Fukanhaal writes: “It is now a sin - even a crime against high art - to mention that despite all the blog posts, a syndicated news column, and a TV program, no one to this day has been able to name even 10 instances in which the writings of Andrew Bolt resemble the credible thoughts of a functioning, lucid, human man. The only possible conclusion to be drawn is that ‘Andrew Bolt’ is a complete and utter fabrication, a myth that Australia needs to finally debunk.” A spokeswoman told The Shovel this morning that Mr Bolt, is “livid” about the blog post and is in the process of making a complaint to the Australian Press Council.

Unfortunately it’s not history. Its still happening. Aboriginal kids 10x more likely to be removed from their families. #Apology means not doing it again. #StolenGenerations http://workersbushtelegraph.com.au/2014/02/12/grandmothers-demand-docs-return-stolen-children-on-anniversary-of-apology/

I was in Sydney to visit the Australian Museum . The Aboriginal Gallery was one of many expositions and it really does affect me and I learned a lot. I attended the talk about the forgotten Australian and Stolen Generations, I have realised that shamefully I didn’t know their history. Among the first European settlers who lived together in small towns, they were British prisoners. The British used to send prisoners all the way to Australia from the year 1788-1868. Australia was used as a prison colony at that time. TMI, London was overcrowded and crimes were common, so transporting them to Australia was a really clever idea. Transportation was a common punishment handed out for both serious and petty crimes. About 60 thousand convicts were transported to British colonies in North America, and around 162 thousand were transported to Australia. Many Aboriginals weren’t considered to be human beings until in 1967. I also learned that racism has lasted for a long time in Australia. Such as, when soldiers returned to Australia from fighting in WW1, the whites received land and money for their efforts, while the Aboriginal men received nothing since they weren’t considered Australian citizens. Many paintings of aboriginals remained. They are beautiful and expresses many feelings, gr8.
2014 City of Whittlesea Sorry Day - YouTube
This morning I visited South Morang to find out about their ‘sorry space’ (they don’t like the word memorial because of the implications of it being about something that’s over and done with). Completely inspiring story - here’s a video from their launch on Sorry Day, 26 May 2014.
