Day one 📌 Palma De Mallorca 🇪🇸 ✈️I flew out of Gatwick around 09:10 and it took about 2 hours to get to Palma De Mallorca. We arrived ahead of schedule. 🇪🇺As I am a EU citizen, I easily passed through the electronic gates scanning my passport. 🚍I took the A1 bus from the bus stop that is short walk from the exit of Arrivals. The trip took about 15 minutes as I left the bus at the second stop, so I could walk along the Promenade and take photos. ⛪After about 10 minutes, I ended up near the Cathedral, which is the most famous landmark in Mallorca. I walked along the streets behind - they are just perfect for photos - narrow, colourful and full of atmosphere. 🕌I visited the Arab Baths, which is one of the very few buildings left from the Islamic Period in Palma. Entrance costs €3.50, but can only be paid cash. 🍊I walked to Marcat De L’Olivar and bought some oranges and mandarins. On my way there, I had a potato omelette in one of the restaurants. Palma gets extremely busy and even though it’s not exactly the holiday season, it was full of people in the Central parts of the city. 🗾I then hiked up to Castell De Bellver to see Palma from above. ⛰️I decided to walk to my hotel which turned into an hour hike up the steepest streets ever. It was a massive challenge, especially with the heavy backpack I have been carrying all day. 🌅I went to see the Cala Major beach, famous for it’s blue water. The beach was very busy even though it was almost 19:00. 🥘I checked into my hotel and went back out. I grabbed dinner from one of the near-by restaurants and had it on the beach, which by 20:15 was almost empty. 🏞️I finished the day, watching the mountain from my hotel balcony.

I wasn’t supposed to get stranded on the road or even visit the town of Loja the day before I was supposed to catch my flight to get to ABR. Talk about stressful 🫠 How they helped me: • Let me store Freyja and all my crap at their shop for 2 weeks without charging me 🥺 • Dropped me off at the hostel to save me a grueling 20 minute walk in all my gear • Let me mail a package to their shop • Called their daughter to be a translator since I don’t speak Spanish • Gave me ice cold water after I walked 45 minutes from the bus stop to their shop in all my moto gear in 38C/ 100F weather • Put my bike to the front of the queue when I arrived (even though I should’ve gave them a heads up when I was coming back, but I have exhausted road brain so I literally can’t think about anything else except what’s in front of me) • Were so patient with me and worked with me through the language barrier • And most importantly, fixed Freyja If you’ve ever been on the road in a foreign country, all these things are so hard to manage by yourself. They’ll never know, but they took the weight of the world off my shoulders for a little bit. I am so thankful for them. Be nice to people, your actions have rippling effects. You could be helping a different looking Crystal who is just struggling trying to get through the day.
