THANK YOU!! also yes i did see the link, i just didn’t respond to it! thank you for sending it <3 1.) yes i’ve been to both!! diagon alley pretty much looks like how the movies depict it, but it’s a lot more cramped than you’d expect. it’s narrow, crowded, and during peak hours it gets insanely chaotic. like actually hard to walk through without bumping into people. the shops are also smaller than they look, a lot of them are packed with items floor to ceiling. and there are SO many random stores, that sell the most niche things ever. there’s a literal store called “knick knacks” which i always thought was a really cute name. there are also a bunch of smaller, lesser known stores that people don’t really talk about. one of my favourites is this place called “crystal’s” (named after the owner and product), and they sell crystals, tarot cards, dreamcatchers, engraved mirrors, and really vintage-looking accessories. it’s super quiet and cozy compared to the rest of diagon alley, and i love the vibes in there so much. it kind of smells strange some times but i lowkey like the smell lol. i got this really cute evil eye necklace from there once. but tbh, i don’t go to diagon alley much. it’s very much just a shopping district, not really somewhere you go to hang out. if you don’t have anything specific to buy, there’s not really any point going there, especially because it gets overstimulating super fast. hogsmeade on the other hand is where everyone actually goes to chill. students flood the place on weekends. we usually walk there using shortcuts, so it takes about 20 minutes, otherwise it’s closer to an hour. which is why most people prefer the carriages, but the wait can be so long that it’s just easier to walk. i am in love with hogsmeade. it’s just full of cafes and places to just sit and hang out. the three broomsticks, hog’s head, madam puddifoot’s, honeydukes, zonko’s… all the iconic classics. but there are also a lot of extra places that aren’t really shown. like i scripted in this matcha cafe (because i’m addicted to matcha), and it’s run by this really sweet elderly japanese couple. they barely speak english but you can just point at the menu and they understand that perfectly fine. their matcha is absolutely delectable, like genuinely better than some of the ones i’ve had in my cr when i visit japan. their shop is super cozy, warm, cushioned seats, seasonal drinks, little cherry blossom decorations in spring… i love it so so much. it’s my comfort space outside of school. i’ve gotten pretty familiar with the elderly couple that owns the cafe, and they’re always super sweet. they always give me a complementary matcha cookie when i order drinks from them. i miss them. and then there’s the three broomsticks, which is everyone’s go-to. i don’t really like butterbeer which i don’t like because it literally just tastes exactly like beer, except a little creamier. but but their fish and chips??? omfg, insane . we order it every single time. in fact, it’s one of their most popular menu items. the combination of crispy fish, thick fries, vinegar and sea salt seasoning… i’m drooling just thinking about it. i’ve yapped wayy too much about this so i’ll stop here for now, but lmk if you wanna know more about these 2 places! i have a lot more to elaborate on tbh. 2.) AND YES LMAO he did flirt with me, or at least attempted to. but i didn’t take it seriously at all because he literally does it to everyone, plus i was still new at the time so i guess i caught his attention for a bit. he just came up to me, introduced himself, shook my hand, and offered to give me a “tour” of the school. i told him i already had one, and then he went on about how nobody’s brought me to the gryffindor common room yet and how “only special people” get invited, and that he could be my “close friend” if i wanted. i’m not quoting him verbatim btw, i don’t remember his exact words but it was something along those lines. but i swear he didn’t sound as creepy irl, it’s just his choice of words that make it sound off, you have to hear the way he says it LOL. i was trying so hard not to laugh because i found it a little corny ngl, i just declined again and said i had to rush to class and dipped. and as i was leaving he literally called out after me like “i don’t bite”. found out abit later from pansy that he uses that exact same line on everyone LMAO. he’s just immediately inviting people over to the dorms. like don’t get me wrong, he’s so hot and his charm and confidence is sooo attractive. i just wasn’t interested lol and i’m not fond of the idea of being another name on his roster. plus i was actually rushing to class. i have my priorities sorted.
