ALT Picked up some seaglass from the beach (Walton on the Naze/Essex)….where-did it come from? What was it before? Fragments of an object and a journey. Washed up on the shore - waiting to be found - reused and recurated into another story. Whilst at the Essex Wildlife Trust centre I saw this leaflet about seagrass - I know nothing about it so will look into it. Is there a relationship between the 2 that I can uncover . I like the idea of untold stories…the unseen, unheard….the multiverse of an object and an object of ecology.
Only 3 people on Threads liked my prized Michigan seaglass, bonfire glass collection + my biggest smoothest petoskey… joyless bastards… The red/amber/black one is an especially interesting find. Its from the beach but i think it must be bonfire glass bc what else could that possibly be?
Candice Night - Sea Glass – On the Shores of a Fantasy World A musical album full of magic. It’s full of fantasy and dreams. It’s as if you’re standing on the shore. In some fairytale fantasy kingdom. Full of magic and wonder. And before you is the great ocean. Full of mysteries. And seashells lie on the sand. Like remnants of the past. Full of magic. And very beautiful to look at. Millions of shards scattered across the sand. You’ve found yourself on the other side. In a world of fantasy and magic. Music woven from magic. It’s like touching the sun’s rays. Or catching a reflection in the water. So beautiful and so strange. This album will transport you to a magical world. There’s room for enormous emotional things there. Sadness, joy. Darkness and light. A sense of time. A sense of place. Who knows what life is? Maybe it’s fantasy. And sometimes you see something incredibly beautiful. Sometimes you break. And start over. Cracks within. Searching for a way out. There’s no turning back for you. Like a whirlpool. You’re on the shore. In a new world. Starting over. This world is now a part of you. Tightly connected to your perceptions. Your experiences, your joys and sorrows. You’ll always find your way back here. It’s all on this CD. SeaGlass. The album is full of mystery. Like good fantasy literature. With its own light and darkness. It’s as if you’ve entered another world. And first, on this sandy shore. The entire ocean lies before you. So magical. And the sun shines brightly. This is the album’s opening track, SeaGlass. I’m a huge fan of such complete immersion. It’s a way to immerse yourself in dreams and reveries. To travel to other worlds. Like the writer H.P. Lovecraft, you travel in your dreams. And you can encounter different entities and see other worlds. This CD is also a means for dreaming. An incredible composition – a dark Carnival. It’s a melody. Piano. And a sad piece. It’s inspired by something sad. Like ghosts in an old park. Maybe like the music of the Cure. So dark. But not evil. Thoughtful. And entertaining. It might even seem cheerful. But it’s very ghostly. Like the wind. It blows. But you can’t see it. A ghostly and beautiful composition. It’s like you’ve entered a haunted house. Or a slight sense of the paranormal. Everything is so strange, mysterious, and beautiful. Like a dream. The melody is continuous and always sounds in the same key. Even the echo is like the voice of ghosts. That must be Candice Night singing. When I want to fly. Another beautiful piece of music. Very dense, musical, and beautiful, like a patterned carpet. There’s a passage on some strings, probably ancient instruments. A beautiful soul. You fly like a bird. Or like a druid, you gaze at the banks of grass and greenery and a beautiful river in the distance. The entire disc is filled with excellent pieces. And for me, it’s like a book. Fantasy literature. It’s these moments in my imagination that make me a big fan of this kind of music. Another such musician is Sarah Brightman. And now Candice Night has released an incredible disc. For complete immersion in the world of fantasy. This CD or vinyl will transport you to a fairytale world. So beautiful, surreal. Fantasy-like. Sometimes dangerous. Sometimes captivating and enchanting. It’s like my adventure into the world of deep-dive fantasy computer games. For example, Might and Magic VI, Baldur’s Gate 1.2, IceWind Dale 1.2. Unsung Heroes, for me personally, are like bards’ songs from Dungeons and Dragons tales. There’s room for dragons in the song. And inner demons. And wanderings and curiosity. Fear. There’s room for everything. It’s cold outside. Three o'clock in the morning. And for some reason you stand and peer into the darkness. A call from the darkness. A desire for adventure. Demons of the past. Curiosity. Everything is mixed up. Like in a great fantasy saga. And then a new day comes. Another day. It’s the magic of time. Every day is unique. Time passes. There are keyboards in it. Like a piano. And string instruments. Everything merges into a very beautiful and artistic sound. Candice Night sees ghosts there. It seems. And she herself is like a fantasy character. Strolling through a cemetery. Like a character from a fantasy saga in search of the ghosts of the past. Visiting graves. The entire album is beautifully recorded. Musically. Each song is like a story. From a fantasy world or a parallel world of surrealism and fantasy. The last farewell. It’s as if we’re from different worlds. Battles in this life. And everything is against you. Everything is frozen. In ice. As if it were the past. And graves. And sunlight. You return to the present moment. And this incredible journey was. Face to face. Your personal journey. After listening to such a disc, you were on the shores of a fantasy world. And time froze. It seemed you couldn’t leave. Music listener. From time to time i like to listen to the music. And write about it. Candice Night - Sea Glass – a dive for a dreamer As a fantasy lover, I really enjoyed Candice Night’s album, Sea Glass. The album is very musical and full of fantasy. For dreamers. For those who want to feel sad. Or listen to profound, artistic songs. It’s not every day that albums like this come out. Sarah Brightman has records like that. For me, it’s the album “Dive.” Records like this don’t even come out every year. This year, we were lucky: the first songs and singles began to appear in early spring. It was still cold. But the sun was already shining. A bright day. And spring sunshine. While the ground still lay in ice. In that mood, the single began. And then came one after another. Candice Night has talked in interviews about the origins of the songs. How she came up with them. Some of the songs are about relationships, others about life stories, events in life. Not always happy. Even sad and mournful. All of this formed the basis of the album. For me, this album is important. It is very important. This is such a sea pearl. The same as Sarah Brightman’s “Dive” (Diva, a play on words). The album is highly fantasy-like. For dreamers. And readers and writers, as they say. For music listeners who love this kind of immersion in music. It’s here. Fantasy is very beautiful and so vast. Like the ocean. And we’re standing on the sand. And looking into the distance. And there’s a whole world out there. Dreams. So many things, all sorts of events. Very diverse. Bright colors. Rain. Snow, sun, ice. Lots of water and sun. It’s also early autumn. For me, as a music listener and dreamer, this album contains very artistic pieces. The album is beautiful. Like the bright sun. The one you’re waiting for. It doesn’t warm hotly yet. It just shines. And there’s water all around. And the ice gradually recedes. The snow disappears. Such is the mood of early spring. And these are slightly sad themes. Sadness. Tears. These types of water also have a place in the album. It’s so aquatic. Autumn water, melting ice, tears. The ocean and sea with shells. Colored pebbles by the shore. Everything is washed by the waves. The ocean is endless, like life, a fantasy. For me, this is a very dreamy album. Candice Night says it took 10 years to record. It’s her life in this album. Like a book. With pictures drawn by I. There are video clips. And with songs. Which you can listen to for a long time. And get absorbed in the theme. The theme of fantasy, tears. Autumn. Spring. The ocean. Various events. Which are like in a fog. And then they come together in songs. I wanted to separately note the degree of fantasy and themes like dreams. In this album. For me, this is the most important thing. I’m trapped in tears. A kind of fantasy. An element of sadness. And so figuratively put. A cold day in December. For example, the song “Another Day.” Piano. Slow. Day. Birds sing songs. Another moment, another day. Memories pass. And remain. Another day. Such a mix of fantasy and reality. I really like this. A surreal world, the real world. Fantasy, reality. Memories, today. It’s no longer clear what and where. Memories stay with me. Time cannot erase them. I know. This moment. The last. This is how I perceive it. True fantasy. Such characters from the pages of a fantasy saga. Or you, on a cold spring day. Or already December. A cold day. On a cold day in December. I feel nothing. Time has stood still. The line between. The sky. Like tears in my eyes. Winter. Ice. Snow. Cold air. There must be sun somewhere. It happens in winter too. But not always. Or without the sun. So gloomy. A light, dark blue day. With the sun, a little brighter. Golden sun. It can beautifully illuminate everything. Walking between the graves. So many stories. Very touching songs. They’re all a little sad. And very image-filled. And suitable as a source of fantasy. The word “TV series” or “drama.” But through music and imagery. Dreams and hopes. The line between them and memories. Sometimes I think you’re here. Or where did you go? At night… During the day. Ghosts all around. It’s even fantasy and a touch of gothic. With ghosts all around you. Memories all around you. And all the events of life. That you experience. Like tears. Sunlight in winter. And ghosts all around. Lines and events. Everything we go through. Dark Carnival. Played on an old piano. As if a ghost lives there. This is suitable for a TV intro somewhere. A beautiful melody. A little sad. And a lot of piano. An instrumental piece. All the songs are here. Except for this mysterious theme - Dark Carnival. They say it was played on an old piano. And here too, there’s a theme of ghosts. Nature boy. It also has a similar intro. But it’s a song. It’s also a fantasy. As if. An old song from the pages of some ancient books. Sad, too. A beautiful song. For both dreams and fantasy. Magical days passed through me. The Frozen King. I perceive the album as a fantasy. And I really wanted to note this. In this listening. Music listener. From time to time i like to listen to the music. And write about it. Found you… little Prince…
So I have a few small questions to ask Can Steven's diamond essence be negatively affected by his half-human side? In the original show, this is confirmed when the original Steven made a defective pebble with his sweat But sweat is completely different from blood, and I was wondering if the fact that Steven's blood has DNA and other things could make the gems he created have his characteristics Cg and Steven have the same detail of their front teeth being slightly separated, but Steven's only appeared for one chapter and was completely forgotten(😞) White Diamond also already said that when you create a gem you bury a part of your past and that gem inherits it, and it explains why CG is kind of childish and silly Since Steven from the first season and half of the second season was kind of silly and childish (Not so silly and childish after all) And I wonder if a CG could be similar to baby Steven, but without an abusive home and hundreds of abandonment traumas
Wow, thank you! There’s a lot here to discuss. First of all, thank you for thinking so deeply about the story. I like to think about it deeply too, so I fully understand the desire to analyze every detail like this. I think it’s a sign of a good reader. However, there are a couple of misunderstandings I wanted to clear up. First, the Pebble that Steven makes! the original Steven made a defective pebble with his sweat I don’t think there’s anything in the show that hints that the pebble is in any way defective. It’s just… a pebble. It’s got a funky shape like all the other pebbles do. Actually, I find that many people are too quick to assume that any gem that is slightly off from the model of ‘defective’. Unless the characters in the show act like something is off, or say something, there’s no reason for US as the audience to impose our own prejudices onto their shapes. And ironically…. pointing to ANYTHING funny-looking and saying “it’s obviously defective!” is a very… Homeworld way of thinking? I find it funny that sometimes, some human judgements are more harsh than the Diamonds’ aesthetic preferences. 😂 About CG’s Tooth Gap Cg and Steven have the same detail of their front teeth being slightly separated, but Steven’s only appeared for one chapter and was completely forgotten So, this isn’t the first time someone has pointed at CG’s tooth gap. In fact, in the past some people suggested that having a tooth gap meant she’s off color! That’s absolutely silly. CG just has a tooth gap because it’s cute. Unfortunately, it’s also not something she shares with Steven. Because Steven………doesn’t have a tooth gap. It’s not something that was “completely forgotten”. It was something that was “completely misunderstood.” This is maybe my fault. In season 1, my drawings were much more loose and less detailed. I tried to be obvious, but perhaps it wasn’t obvious enough……. In the chapter that you referenced, Steven is…..very dirty! He has dirt on his hands, and his hair is ruffled, and he has stuff stuck in his teeth. That entire arc was about how he and Earl were stuck in a hole! He complains about not having access to anything, including running water!! He’s dirty. He’s not been able to brush his teeth for a week. That was why the tooth gap disappeared later. It was just a piece of food stuck in his teeth……… Now, for the final thing…. Actually, I think your idea that Seaglass resembles Steven in many ways is still spot-on! Obviously, she’s also very different from him, too. In the beginning, It’s their differences that are highlighted. She’s rambunctious and messy and stubborn. However, despite all this, she’s still clearly a chip off the old block. This part of her begins to become more prominent in Season 5, after the Cluster, and after their big fight. She starts to understand Steven better and he starts to let off on being overprotective. And as a result, you start to see other sides of CG. She can be patient. She can even be slightly manipulative - she is quite convincing when she speaks to Jasper. Her ability to pinpoint people’s weaknesses comes directly from Steven. And she even directly assists Connie and Steven in Steven’s quite risky plan. She’s clearly being trusted to keep some heavy secrets at this point. Ironically, this makes her both unlike AND like Steven - and it also makes her an echo of another character from the series, who was ALSO 'raised’ by a Diamond and was the littlest of her family and was often not taken very seriously by the others……. But things are different. CG is being treated on more equal footing here, and yes, as you said - there’s no abuse in her past, and she’s relatively emotionally healthy - as much as one can be when one is not even a year old. :)
Candice Night – Last Goodbye – Frozen Fantasy In the spring, Candice Night released a beautiful and highly artistic CD called Sea Glass. Sea glass. A very fantasy-like musical theme. Many songs with emotion and depth. About everything around us. About walking among graves. About the beach and shells. About life’s events. Such an all-encompassing fantasy CD. Like the lore of a druid from a fantasy magical video game. One of the opening songs on the CD is “Last Goodbye.” There’s also a music video for the song. A beautiful video. With images, like an artist’s drawings. In light and bright tones. Cool tones. Blue. Ice. A freezing vegetable garden. A lake. Icy. I’m imagining it from memory. Something like that. For me, it’s quite fantasy-like. City and fantasy. The song itself is about relationships. The singer explained this in an interview. But here I want to move on to my musical perception of this CD. And this song in particular. This moment has arrived. A moment of ice. And frost. It’s almost winter outside. Late autumn. The second half of autumn. Black trees. A bright day. Darkening quickly. The leaves are almost gone. Or they’re dark orange. As if frozen. Or maybe it’s already the beginning of winter. Ice outside. And snow. Not so thick. Just a little. Black earth and a few magical dots of snow. And ice. Instead of a puddle, there’s already ice. Everything is frozen. An icy lake. The world is getting colder. Light blue. This is the color of the day. My artistic perception. Something like gothic, a little wintry, a little autumnal, a gloomy look, perhaps. Or simply melancholic. Sad, maybe. Contemplative. Or a freezing look. Light blue. Like ice. Like late autumn. Or winter without snow, but with ice. Like the band Cure. But like the Renaissance and a song with a piano. Very profound music. Sarah Brightman writes music like this. Maybe someone else. But I don’t know yet. Slow. Atmospheric introduction. With piano. And a slight rustle of wind or branches. Like cold air or wind in your head. We come from different worlds. It’s like fantasy and real worlds. Some kind of battles. But everything turned against you. Such ash. But here there is ice and snow. Sooner or later you will face it. A frozen world. A world of such icy peace. This autumn-winter era will last a long time. I want to turn the page. But this era is frozen. For many months to come. You are like a character in a fantasy story. You don’t remember. Memory has stopped. Time has frozen. Everything has turned to ice. I am frozen in time and cannot move. Such a touching and lyrical fantasy song. With piano. Black and white keys. Some other musical instruments. Violins or synthesizers. The stars stop shining. The freezing, like the magic of an ice mage, continues to work. It’s definitely a whole fantasy saga. Inside which, like in a book or a video game like Heroes of Might and Magic 3, 4, or Age of Miracles 2, the listener finds himself. If only we could escape time! Can we? Can we really? And a lyrical, beautiful interlude plays. If we start all over again, then we’ll find ourselves here again. This icy place is like a trap. A trap in time. Or a boat lost in the ocean. It took so long to understand. And I’m interested in everything. Miracles. And magic. Or maybe this icy place. Already like the Approach to a town called Quiet Hill. Fog. You can still leave. Don’t cross the bridge. Then you won’t return. Goodbye. Farewell. Whisper. Music listener. From time to time i like to listen to the music. And write about it.
