Feelings switcheroo? Someone resolves to move on from their unrequited feelings right when the object of their affections starts realizing their own?
You know what, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen this done in a fic? But I’m gonna say B! I have seen it done VERY well in multiple canons (Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane has a deliciously excruciating take and early Ross/Rachel on Friends is a classic) so I would like to see a good solid slow burn fic version of this too.
Since you're big on cape comics -- how do you feel about villain/hero reversal AUs?
Honestly, this one is an F for me. I don’t even like it in the source material. I only like AUs where I feel like they’re still hewing close to the characters’ core personalities, otherwise what’s the point of reading fic to begin with? And a morality shift isn’t just a switch you flip, it’s fundamentally changing the essential nature of the character. Like, evil Superman isn’t Superman. Good Joker isn’t Joker. They just aren’t . And if I don’t feel like I can recognize the characters, I’m not interested in the story.

Best friends to lovers?
A! So many of my OTPs are this: JayRoy, JonDamian, MattFoggy, JohnnyWyatt, RicStar, BOOSTLE. (Actually, even my very first ship when I was six years old, Babs and Buster from Tiny Toons, was a best friend ship.) There is very little I love more than codependent besties who have been dancing around each other for ideally 20-50 years. HOWEVER. Weirdly this is something that only interests me in fandom? I have little to no interest in best friends to lovers in novels, whether it’s reading them or writing them. I think it’s because I really love that very long history and there’s simply not space for it in a novel; going “oh yeah, they’ve been best friends forever” in the opening chapter is not sufficient for me!
