So I was thinking about how Actor Mark is probably Maskiplier and had a thought about the taking masks off things that was said what if, for what is going on now in the present, like when actor takes total control of you, you can only see from your eyes but maybe can still think, its actually about Actor wanting those that he controls to have thoughts that fits the “better” person he made them become and not the thoughts they had before. So say for example: When he has total control over the DA, he controls them to praise and love him and his stories and do as he says, but DA is having thoughts that he wouldn’t like, like not liking him and his stories and not enjoying being forced to praise him. Actor might be upset the thoughts aren’t matching with the “Better” DA he created and probably would want the DA to think thoughts that fit the “Better” DA character he created and controls and i wouldn’t put it pass him if he decides to hurt the DA if they don’t do so..

A ramble about themes and world-building. For fun I’ve been trying to figure out plausible ways for Simon and Grace to meet up, usually incorporating a 3rd IP’s magic or sci-fi system and the more I look into it the more I appreciate the world building of Iron Lung. One of my head-canons, I thought what Simon thought: “What’s more likely, that all planets and stars disappeared, or that a few space stations disappeared?” I thought maybe this could be explained if I incorporated the Defective Portal of Truth from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. “Ocean” of blood, with time between the events of FMA and the events of Iron Lung for it to have grown from knee-high to fathoms-deep. Space between reality and God’s realm. No other live humans or animals. No natural resources. No light (except the technology and the fire that Gluttony swallows). No end. Both trap you with the instantaneous gaze of a giant eye. I’d even argue that both eyes are that of a naive god. The only problem: the stars. If Iron Lung’s survivors had been transported somewhere else and trapped there, they wouldn’t see the ghost light of the stars that disappeared. Light travels in a more or less straight line, so if they’d moved into a supernatural void, it wouldn’t reach them. They must still be exactly where they were to still be in the path of the starlight, which means everything else vanished, not the other way around. The world building for Iron Lung in general is so devastating. I think maybe this is showing me some of the themes of Iron Lung— not necessarily finding a concrete reason for hope out in the universe, but fighting like hell on the off-chance that it exists. Not reasoning and rationalizing to convince yourself that everything is ok or will be ok no matter what, but assessing what you can do in a given moment and choosing the best option you have. I guess choice is a major motif throughout the movie, come to think of it…

I have to be grateful here for a moment that I have discovered the extreme creative power that is Markiplier. Over the past couple weeks of watching his videos and listening to his podcast and analyzing his film, I’ve learned a bit about his creative process and how he thinks of himself as a creative, and it’s given me the inspiration, for the first time in a while, to be creative myself. I’ve been tired and kind of mindlessly living for a while, and maybe consuming content has been part of that, but for the first time in a while today I was motivated to work through that and do things . Because of listening to Markiplier’s podcast yesterday, in particular an episode where he discussed his process of writing rough drafts and editing them and how he sees himself as a storyteller first and foremost, however that story manifests itself. And today I was able to get some work done on my thesis AND write a rough outline for an original WIP I’ve had bouncing around vaguely in my head since the beginning of the year. I feel better now?? I feel a little more like myself?? I’ve been tired and stressed and disillusioned with my retail job and disillusioned with the idea of ever doing anything more important, so I think being able to come up with just a few original ideas today and write them down to think about later was extremely good for me.
