I think he saw her yearning/longing for Graysen and he was embarrassed to have intruded. I think that’s why he was kind of talking to himself in that moment, “its a real thread,” like until then even HE didn’t really believe it. And in the course of fact finding, he stumbled on something he shouldn’t have and I think it shamed him a little AND it kind of thrilled him because he got to sense her feelings and even though those feelings were sad/aching, they were HERS. I think he spent a lot of time when they were first separated thinking about her/wondering who she was and what she might be like and this was the first time he got to see her unguarded and unwatched

Oh my gosh this is so sweet. I think it only hurt because the guy was really cute 😔. Why would a cute guy give me a disappointed look!!! But now that I think about it Simon would be the best comforter in that situation because he wouldn’t laugh and probably just give you lots of forehead kisses. Thank you for mental hitting them with a bat it does make me feel better. ☺️
