andcanyoukneelbeforetheking replied to your post “horrible headcanon: Laura 100% knew that the fire was Derek’s fault and routinely left him with the order to ‘stay home'” derek’s super harsh with scott, erica, isaac, boyd and cora when they’re his betas. i’ve always wondered if that’s a lesson he learned from laura’s reign as his alpha considering we’ve seen talia was very nurturing with him. He and Laura spent quite a while living on the run, evidenced not only by the webisodes (where a doctor had met the two of them in an ER in Wisconsin when Laura had an arrow through her leg) but also by his little speech to Erica and Boyd. If you start running, you never stop. So I have no problem picturing Laura as a harsh alpha, no nonsense because they just couldn’t afford to let their guard down at all.
So Clio and I were tossing around this AU idea the other night and it has stayed with me, so here’s an attempt to describe it. Wherein the Normandy SR-1 never encounters the Collector Ship, and everything still ends up terrible… The Normandy continues its fruitless search for geth, then is dispatched on a series of other peripheral missions. Rumors say that Shepard is being kept far away from the halls of power, that neither the Alliance nor the Council wish to allow her to garner more fame or glory. Her inconvenient habit of talking about Reapers, Reapers, the Reaper threat at every opportunity means she is best used on the frontier. Her squad, her crew, begin to melt away. Tali returns to the Migrant Fleet, and Wrex goes back to Tuchanka. The Alliance offers new positions to her human crew, and many accept them - the Normandy’s long frontier missions are exhausting, and after all they had signed up with the Alliance, and on the Normandy they are betwixt and between, an Alliance ship commanded by a Council operative. Shepard recruits where she can, but her crew becomes more polyglot, haphazard, different shapes not quite fitting together. Even Kaidan or Ashley eventually returns to the Alliance, though they promise to work to build support against the Reaper threat. And then human colonies begin disappearing. The Alliance’s response is tepid and ineffective; the Council does not act at all. Shepard is not sent to investigate the disappearances, but after half a dozen she can stand it no longer. Once again, she ignores her orders and takes the Normandy to investigate the problem. She again gives her crew the choice to participate in the mutiny or to leave the ship. This time, many take the latter choice, but her strongest supporters stay with her: Pressly, Joker, Chakwas, the Virmire survivor, perhaps Liara and Garrus. They follow a trail of bread crumbs until it leads to a dead end at the closed Omega-4 Relay. Shepard is able to gather some information about the Collectors, but she lacks the Illusive Man’s intelligence-gathering apparatus. She doesn’t hear about the attack on Horizon until far too late. By the time the Normandy reaches there, every trace of the attackers is gone, along with the colonists. And the Virmire survivor. Shepard, grieving and embittered, has no leads left to pursue. Hoping that pooling their information will help, she turns herself in to the Alliance. They prove less tolerant of mutiny when she has not heroically saved the day, but still, in view of her fame, propose to avoid a court-martial. Instead, a honorable discharge and the revocation of her Spectre status. Oh, and if she could refrain from public speculation about the Reapers? She holds up until news comes of another colony abduction. Then she goes on a three-day bender and wakes up in a drunk tank. And then is when Cerberus chooses to approach her. We believe you, Shepard. We’re the only ones who do. We still believe in you. Won’t you join us?
wren-of-djinn said: I just wanted to share a horrible head-cannon with you if you don’t mind. We all know that Stiles believes he killed his mother. Most of the fandom takes this to be metaphorical (He eased her pain, or they were to busy with him to worry about her until it was too late, ect.), but what if its not. We now know that her mind was literally deteriorating, which had to be happening for a while. We also know that because of what happened to Stiles, she was most likely less than lucid towards the end but her body was fine. Maybe one day she couldn’t remember who Stiles was and attacked him and in the struggle he ended up hurting her bad enough that she eventually died of the wounds. His dad still loves him dearly but what really sent him into the bottle was thinking about his wife’s killer has eyes just like her. Do I mind? Are you kidding? I’m so fucking here for this. And the sheriff obviously knows what happened. The hospital staff told him, explained. And he knew how she’d been at the end there. But he and Stiles didn’t talk about it. At first he tried giving Stiles time to come to him, and then when it became obvious that Stiles wouldn’t, well, the sheriff just couldn’t bring himself to broach the subject. So there were months and months of silence in their home, both avoiding a topic neither could get past. Until eventually they just seemed to decide not to talk about it, even if it was still weighing on them. So the years went by, and they dealt with it in their own ways, each alone, and they built up their relationship again, and the sheriff eventually stopped drinking so much. But it’s still there in each of them; in Stiles’s nightmares of his dad accusing him; in each glass of whiskey the sheriff drinks, holding it up and seeing the color of his wife’s, and her killer’s, eyes in the glass.
This might be random but I remember reading in one of your Ashara posts yesterday that Arthur was a childhood friend of Rhaegar? Where does it mention that? Because I always assumed that Arthur only met Rhaegar when he became a member of the kings guard. I guess we could say that Ashara came to court with her brother but we really don't know how old either of them were :/ unless like has some information outside of the books regarding the Daynes been released?
I am not currently at home, so i can’t look stuff up for you. I could very well be mixing up headcanon with canon, sth that happens with the pre-series folk. (i don’t tend to do that with the canon folk.) When i do that, though it usually has some basis in the text, and i can give you what text-based explanation i can w/o having access to the books atm. Both Barristan Selmy and Jon Connington fixate on Rhaegar’s relationships. Barristan is openly (internally) jealous of Arthur’s closeness to Rhaegar. Rhaegar is someone who is distant, detached, aloof, etc. I feel like the only real friends he has are childhood ones (iirc, Jon Connington is a childhood friend). So i think that that’s where that headcanon happened. (although I think i had it before dance? Under which circumstances it probably comes from a Jaime chapter? Idk.) Sorry for the confusion. Sorry also not necessarily to clarify the confusion.
it’s been a long time since i last personally added anything to my horrible headcanons tag, but a thought struck me, and anyone who knows me knows i live to share my horrible thoughts. What if Jon’s grandma knew exactly what she was doing, when she gave him A Guest for Mr. Spider
megiavelli replied to your post “andcanyoukneelbeforetheking replied to your post “agentotter answered…” Idea: the “believe in it” magic system could be very dangerous and is the reason no one is getting any training outside of “magic ash does x.” But it bleeds over to other things. You believe you might have dementia, and boom, there it is. Oh, trust me. this is not an idea that has escaped me . Someday. Someday I will write it, or someone will make me unbelievably happy and do it for me.
OR MAYBE THE PAIGE THING WAS ALL PETER. I mean we know it was sort of Peter but maybe what he meant to happen was Talia having to banish her son for killing an innocent and was trying to fracture the pack?
I honestly think this is sort of what it was. Back when the episode came out, Chiomi had an idea. Peter said young!Derek was “a lot like Scott”. So what if he meant that more than just as your average teenage boy? What if, once upon a time, Derek actually had the potential to become a true alpha? The whole situation was obviously meant to fuck Derek over somehow, and I wouldn’t doubt Peter was trying to throw a wrench between Derek and Talia. He wanted Derek to be facing some pretty severe consequences, whether she lived or died. We don’t really know if this egotrip of seeing himself as The Alpha is a post-fire/actually being an alpha thing. Maybe it was meant to weaken Talia, cut her pack down bit by bit until Peter could challenge her and have a chance at winning. Or maybe it was to draw the attention of hunters. Because the best way to eliminate a threat is to get someone to do it for you. So if she died, Derek not only lost the potential to be a true alpha, but he also stood risk of being made an omega and weakening Talia’s pack. And if she didn’t, well, pretty much the same outcome.
vayonpoole replied to your post : What are your ideas on Ashara/Elia? There’s a graphic she jumped for Elia what do you think about that? i like the idea of elia/ashara, and elia representing the good in the world to a distanced ashara is really interesting to me. (btw i totally agree with ashara being depressed) (YAY I AM SO GLAD IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT TO ME.) I really like that headcanon a lot. And, going further with it–what happens if Elia represents the good in the world and Ashara keeps herself distant from it, because she’s someone who feels like the world is never good when she’s around it. So she’ll stay away…and then (if we do the Rhaegar-is-babydaddy headcanon) she bangs Rhaegar and gets pregnant and the baby dies, and Rhaegar dies, and ELIA dies and suddenly she REALLY feels it. Like Elia is the lid in the coffin (as it were–oooh I shouldn’t use that metaphor I am a bad person–and yet I’m worse for leaving it in…) because Elia wasn’t supposed to be affected by it. Elia was supposed to be ok. Elia was supposed to continue being some sort of good that Ashara couldn’t attain. And Elia was brutally murdered and her children are dead.
MORE VLD HEADCANONS
-Lance has cripplingly low self esteem. The only one who knows this is Hunk, who makes sure to encourage anything Lance says as long as it’s confident because it’s better than seeing him in a deep depression like before. -The one thing Shiro managed to hide from the Galra was his eyeliner (idfc he’s wearing eyeliner and it’s beautiful) and the Earthly routine was the only thing that kept him sane. -Keith has killed someone before. He was never found guilty because he ran away and there was no incriminating evidence against him. He’s scared that his family knows so he hasn’t seen them since. -Pidge’s mother became completely emotionally detached after her husband and son disappeared. Pidge quickly learned there was no getting through to her so they became harshly independent almost overnight. -Hunk swallows any and all negative feelings towards others. If he feels jealous or annoyed at anyone he just sucks it up and is nice to them anyway. He’s been bottling his negative emotions for a very long time.
Rigleen and Cloudicai
Rigleen is taking its sweet time in happening and Cloudicai is taking its sweet time in making up its mind on if its going to happen or not! I seriously love both but the wait is starting go get to me that I've began devising my own horrible headcanons just to pass the time! 1: Rigleen may never happen. Never ever, but thats okay because it'll be alive in our hearts and fanficfions. 2: F*ck. What is CJ is pregnant and thats why she keeps flipping out so violently and breaking her own character? O.O Granted, Mordo did betray her trust twice, but hey. I wouldn't be surprised if she was. I mean, Adventure Time pulled that same twist FOUR TIMES! So maybe o.o
Horrible Headcanons: Audacious Aunt Alice
It is my belief that Alice has several Murder Families stretched across the globe that she tends to drop in on without a moment’s notice. She is never apart of the core dynamic, however. They only know her as Aunt Alice . Audacious Aunt Alice who walks with tigers and swims with sharks. She always brings souvenirs back with her from her travels and enjoys the company of others for a time. But she never stays long and hardly ever says goodbye. And just when life might threaten to revert to a ghastly dullness, she turns up like a ticking time bomb, gas mask and gorgeous hydrangeas in hand with a breathless, “ Wotcha .”
Horrible Headcanons Evening
Apparently the creative part of my brain has become twisted and evil, because so far this evening, it has come up with, and made me think about, the following: A Colonist, Sole Survivor Shepard with a raging case of imposter syndrome and massive self-doubt, whose trip through ME1 goes so badly that when she’s reawakened by Cerberus, she tells them it’s a terrible mistake to put her in charge of anything; A Shepard who absolutely no one, including her own crew, believes about the Reapers; “Shepard As It Never Was” in which Shepard is transported into an alternate timeline in which she was never revived by Cerberus, no one stopped the Collectors, and things got predictably horrible from there. At least now the prospect of playing Marcus Shepard sounds like sunshine, rainbows, and puppies compared to thinking more about any of these 3.
horrible headcanon: kate engineered the whole paige thing. she was the child of a hunter family and she was too 'soft' for their line of work so they used her to get an excuse to go after the hale family.
Paige was step 1. She was supposed to fill the role Kate eventually played, getting close to Derek, getting under his skin and into his house. Though the real question here is: did Paige know that was her role? Or was she like s1 Allison, kept in the dark because her family just didn’t think she could handle it. And maybe they steered her toward Derek, or maybe she just came home one night, complaining about him, and they encouraged it from there. And if they asked a lot of odd, pointed questions… Well, It’s only natural to want to know about your daughter’s boyfriend. Of course, she didn’t get the answers Kate needed before she died. If you want something done right…
