when someone has so little faith in me that they refuse to read my final letter to them out of kindness because they don’t think i idk and i just stand there and take it trying not to seem hurt after spending the night before graduation with aching hands— pouring my heart out into what I thought would be my last words to my dearest friend if she would still allow me to consider her one
😒 Louis’ reaction to a sign saying “ Please sing Hey There Delilah! ” ( My man still has PTSD about this song from his xfactor days) HDWGHWT Prague, 5 April 2026 .
The song hey there delilah has got to be one of the worst listening experiences out here. It’s a sad song, but not in a way that’s at all beautiful or significant, the melody just has an aura of bummer about it. The lyrics make the guy sound so pathetic and stupid in a way that makes you hate the guy but also kind of feel bad for him because his situation must be so miserable for him to act like this. Even when I was a kid the song gave me a terrible feeling, it’s like I always knew it was this awful.
Every time we listen to “Hey There Delilah” we end up crying, but we don’t really know why? It could be because we feel lonely and (kind of) isolated since most of the time we’re stuck in our room? Or because we don’t have a relationship with someone who’d miss us/still talk to us if we were far away? (which doesn’t make sense when we say it out loud, but WHATEVER.) Or it just sounds comforting. And we aren’t used to feeling safe. I dunno!
hey there, Delilah, what's it like in New York city? I'm a thousand miles away, but girl (idk your gender), tonight you look so pretty !! * laughs and runs away evilly because you'll never know who wrote this *
and inevitably i knew this was coming
my parents heard the song Lyla by Oasis when my mum was pregnant, and they really liked the name but wanted to change it a bit so I wasn’t named after a song so they called me Delilah. they named me Delilah so that I wasn’t named after a song….. Lyla is kinda fire tho
The Piano Man playing obliviously at a gay bar has the same vibe as Hey There Delilah being sung by a father who‘s lost custody of his daughter. Just songs that get so much better with unusual interpretations that don‘t actually contradict a single line
Whatever happens will happen. Every thing happens for a reason. It might hurt right now, but in moments from now (days, weeks, months, years) you might realize why it happened and/or be grateful it did. Everything happens for a reason. Anything can be a learning experience and a growth opportunity. What is meant to be, will be. Mainly just trying to tell myself this to comfort myself
