Unironically some of the nicer fish designs I’ve seen in media come from the Kesko retailer advertisements, like look at this They all have super fluid, expressive and very well identifiable designs! They even sing songs and do little dances!!! Funny that these adverts are made to get you to eat fish and they still put in that effort to make the fishes into characters

This was a fun little fishing session this evening.

a mermaid for mermay! Based on the European Perch (Perca fluviatilis) I imagine that female mermaids evolved very human looking upper bodies to aid their luring of humans, as they’re an important part of their diet. Their ears, hair, nose and breasts have no function what so ever, aside from making them appear more like people. They have no vocal cords either, instead they parrot phrases and songs to either appear helpless and in distress or to seduce people.
