Demri Parrott & Rosheen Raugi

Lovely A sent us this photo of Rosheen Gaugi, a friend of Barbara Dearaujo, with the following caption: “I’ve kept that website [ rememberlayne ] up for over 20-25 years for everyone but I just don’t know what else I could add. That website helped me process through a lot of my pain, broken heart, the trauma I experienced from losing friends, and it was incredibly hard on me but also healing. I can share a new picture with you, not on the Internet yet, a picture of Rosheen Raugi on my bedroom wall. I wake up to her face everyday and I’ll never forget that time in my life, but I will say I am a much happier human today. Rosheen was only 22 years old when she passed away.” Barbara Dearaujo was a friend of Demri Parrott, and she introduced Rosheen to Demri and they began dating. Barbara was once the girlfriend of Alice in Chains’ bass player Mike Starr. She, of course, was also a friend of Layne and had her own demons and struggles when she was young. Today I ended up spending almost the whole afternoon reading on a website the stories her friends shared about what she was like🥹🤎

Layne’s diary entry from “This Angry Pen of Mine: Recovering the Journals of Layne Staley” book. Feb 10, 1992 “Me + Dem did our last shots this morning but I can’t feel it anymore. At the airport on our way to drug treatment. It’ll be great not to rely on this shit anymore. I’m excited to be healthy again, mentally and physically. Physically I’m skinny, I’ve lost alot of weight and I’m weak. Mentally I’m dead inside and have no creative energy – I need to get it back. I’m excited to get all my strength back. I’ve heard that detoxing in a place like this is pretty cushy, but I’m so strung, I can’t imagine I will feel no pain at all. I just hope I can sleep. I hope it’s easy on Dem too. She doesn’t like hurting and she feels sick alot, I’m sure it won’t be cushy enough for her. I just hope she doesn’t run away like she has before. Hi! Demri is quite known as Layne's girlfriend, which other girlfriends did he have? And what about the other AIC band members? Why is there not much about them and only Layne? Thank you, I loveyour blog, keep on with the Demri stuff! Hopefully the other AIC girls one day will be here as well :)

Hi! Sadly there is not much information about the AIC’ girls. We always check (mainly) 3 websites: Wikipedia: Only marriages or long/important relationships are listed. IMDB: Only marriages are included. Maybe in the trivia section there’s long/important relatioships. Who’s Dated Who: A website that fans and contributors update, meaning that the information is not always updated, and sometimes not even reliable cause giving the proper credit is not mandatory. Checking these 3 websites, this is the following information we gathered: Layne Staley So for Layne Staley, the only information I got is from Who’s Dated Who , where it lists Demri and Debbie Brawford as relationships; and there’s 3 as “rumours”: Simone Starr , Tabitha Soren and Kristen Pfaff. There’s lot of Demri in our blog (see link above), so I’m just going to post about Debbie Brawford . They dated in 1988 (before he dated Demri) and remained friends until he passed away. She was born on December 20, 1967 (same year as him) at Stanwood, Washington. It is unknown how they met or which was her job/profession, her family, etc. There’s more pictures of them both, and pictures she took of the band, in this page: Layne the Legend . Jerry Cantrell For the guitar player of AIC the situation is similar. There’s a rumour relationship with a woman named Angel Olivencia, an artist from LA, but there’s no source for that. His most famous relationship is with Courtney Clarke although there’s no pictures of them together. They met at a Guns N’ Roses concert in Seattle in 1988. Rolling Stone wrote about their relationship in 1996: “One of the most emotional songs on the record, “Heaven Beside You,” was written solely by Cantrell as a way of coping with his recent split from his girlfriend of seven years. He met her at a Guns N’ Roses concert while he was trying to hand Axl Rose a band demo, and Cantrell still describes her as “the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen in my life.” The two parted ways last year because Cantrell was unable to remain faithful to her. “I still love her, but I’m too much of a fucking wolf — kill, attack, move on,” he laments. “It’s so tough when you’re so used to being hard. You can’t tell an oak to be a pine.”” She was born on 4th of April of 1971 in Sacramento County, California and is a photographer. On August 2008 married Craic Brooks and have a child. She can be seen in the short AIC documentary “ The Nona Tapes ” (I watched it to see if Demri was there, but not; of all the girlfriends, only Courtney was there, it is a very fun documentary by the way). Around Summer 1989 to 1991, he dated on-and-off Krisha Augerot (she was very close to Demri). Again, there are no photos of them together. Demri and Krisha. She used to live in the Seattle area in the late 1980s and early 1990s and hang out with Layne Staley and Demri Parrott and the like, and was romantically lnked to Jerry Cantrell. Layne, Demri and I walking through the long grasses on the trails of Magnuson Park, heading to meet up with El Steiner, Freedom James, Krisha, Jerry, Betzold, Dmitri and others. Demri carrying her conga drum with a scarf wrapped around it, me a bottle and a stick. Layne’s hair half in dreads and curls with his goatee braided and one of my beads dangling on the end of it. He’s wearing ripped up jean shorts and Dem and I in our bikinis. His and Demri’s chests bare and golden from the sun, sparkles in our eyes and smiles, lots of smiles. We were going to worship, have a drum circle with our friends on the shores of Lake Washington and swim in it’s waters on a hot summer day … That day Layne experienced the Soundgarden for the first time, when you could walk up to it and stand in the middle and listen to the wind channel sound through the tubes, creating the most beautifully haunting, mystical music.” She licensed real estate agent and more recently a broker, since 1999, and she worked in the competitive Seattle and Los Angeles markets. She moved to Kauai (in Hawaii) from her home town of Seattle in 2007, when her son was born. They both live in Haena. Since 2014 she worked with Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers as a salesperson and also a vacation rental property manager. In 2017 she decided to start her own business representing a small group of vacation rentals, private homes as well representing buyers and sellers. She loves playing pocker and golf. Another rumour relationship is one with Hawaiian make-up artist Carmella Isabella Gruttadauro . She was born on 9th of September of 1974 and allegedly dated Jerry from 2001 to 2002 through his friendship with Kirk Hammet of Metallica, who is married to her sister Lani Hammet. On 2007 she married director and producer Mike McCoy. There’s no photos of them together. There’s another rumour, with American actress and singer Shawnee Smith (born July 3, 1969). They both attended together a premiere on October 2004, but they most likely were just friends. She said: “a friend of mine, Jerry Cantrell, introduced me to like, old country music” . Finally, on February 7, 2008, he attended some awards with actress Heather Ankeny (b. 21 May 1975). Then, they were seen together in the 2011 Grammy Awards, and celebrating Halloween in 2014, but it was not clear the nature of their relationship. According to Who’s Dated Who, on September 2017 she got engaged to businessman Boots Del Biaggio. I do not know if there’s more recent relationships of Jerry, but he doesn’t have children. Sean Kinney The drummer of AIC dated Melinda Starr from 1984 to 1989. She was the sister of Mike Starr and thanks to that, Mike joined the band. There’s not many photos of them together and this one must be from the very early days of their relationship cause both look so young! (and very different) Here’s a photo of Melinda with Demri from ca. 1988 . She was born on April 6, 1969 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Melinda and Mike share the same birthday, but three years apart (he’s older). She worked as the wardrobe assistant in the 1996 comedy “Swingers” in which she played a little role. After Sean, she dated American singer José Leste from Bang Tango in 1990. I do not have any more information to know if she’s dating someone or married, nor if she has children. From 2008 to 2014 he dated artist Rebecca Miller . She was born on an August 5 in Chicago, Illinois. She started as a model and from 1997 became an artist working with paintings, drawings, collage… this is her website . After their break-up, they remained friends. She married musician Eric Alden on October 2019. I do not know if they have children. Rebecca Miller’s works can be found in International collections from the US to Europe. Since 2018 he’s been dating American hairstylist Cheryl Sale , who was born on April 14, 1970 in LA. She was married in the past to TV radio personality Riki Ratchman, and also had a relationship with his roommate, musician Taime Downe. I do not know if she had children with any of them. Sean doesn’t have any children. Mike Starr Mike Starr dated Barbara Dearaujo in 1991/92, when she was 19 and he was 24/25. She was born on 8th of December of 1972 in Laguna Beach, California, and attended Laguna Beach Highschool (1988-1991). She was friends of Rosheen Gaugi and introduced her to her other friend, Demri Parrott, and the two began dating. Barbara herself said she suffered from drugs addiction at this time. After she and Mike broke, she got clean, she had at least one child, and has several grandchildren now. Barbara studied Web Design & Interactive Media and Web Design at the Art Institute of Phoenix (2006-2008) and runs the Remember Layne website , which includes Layne, Mike, Demri and Rosheen. From ca. 1994 to 1995 he dated Amanda Rushing , a glamour model, comedian, actress, model, producer, singer and songwriter. Amanda was born on April 7, 1964 in Del Rio, Texas. She married actor Todd Bridges and have a daughter, actress Bo J. Bridges, in 1996. He also dated, and got engaged to Miranda Jones , provably in the 2000s/2010s. She was born on an August 20, and is friends with Melinda and Sean. Little else is known about her. Mike passed away on March 8, 2011, aged 44 and had no children. Mike Inez Finally, Mike Inez (who replaced Mike Starr in the band in 1993), first dated a woman named Lisa . No other information of her is available at this time. He married his fiancée Sydney Kelly on May 8, 2010, at the estate of Susan Silver, Alice in Chains’ manager in Ojai, California. I do not know if they have children. We can see them on their wedding day with Matt Sorum, drummer of Guns N'Roses. She was born on August 21, 1976. It is not known her profession, ancestry, nor family details. – Of course, there is this photo from the MTV Awards from September 5, 1991, with AIC with their dates. Demri is there but the other women no-one seems to know who they are… – As with many bands, the singer, the front-man, is the visible face of the band, so many people are more interested in him than the other members of the band. In Layne’s case we guess it is because his’ and Demri’s story is very sad. Also, the other girls (and I suppose the musicians themselves too, until some extent) are very private, with very private lives (unless the Beatlegirls or the Stones’ girls, who mainly were models, actresses, artists, … famous on their own). – Sorry it took so long to reply , we did a bit of a research cause the information provided was poor.
