3 Days in Washington D.C.: The Ultimate Stress-Free Family Getaway | Family Travel Itineraries Just followed this 3-day itinerary for a family trip to Washington D.C., and it was perfect! The museums were a hit with the kids, and we had so much fun exploring the outdoor spots. Highly recommend this stress-free guide!
Looking up close, helps us see more clearly, and learn better the intricacies of the natural world. . This polar bear lived in the zoo here in DC before it passed. All of the animals are preserved here with such care. It’s an invaluable gift for us to learn more about them, and ourselves. . My hope is that they were treated with the same care and respect in life, as in their preservation. . The amount we learned from the collections zone alone was tremendous. There were microscopes, and computers for further reference once we found something we wanted to study further. . The Natural History Museum was such an incredible place to explore. . . . #naturalhistorymuseum #exploringnaturewithchildren #dcwithkids (at Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History)
Today was the ideal day to visit the @nmaahc in Washington, DC! While others cooked and ate, we enjoyed an almost empty museum. #DC #DCWithKids #nmaahc #FamilyTravel (at Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture) https://www.instagram.com/p/CWtnDSQPa7_/?utm_medium=tumblr
The Frederick Douglass National Historic Site is a wonderful addition to any family trip to Washington, DC. It’s administered by the National Park Service, and located at 1411 W Street, SE, in Anacostia, a neighborhood east of the Anacostia River in Southeast Washington, D.C.. Established in 1988 as a National Historic Site, the site preserves the home and estate of Frederick Douglass, one of the most prominent African Americans of the 19th century. Douglass lived in this house, which he named Cedar Hill, from 1877 until his death in 1895. Perched on a hilltop, the site offers a sweeping view of the U.S. Capitol and the Washington, D.C., skyline. A visit to this historic site is an ideal way to learn about history. #homeschool #teachingkids #washingtondc #dcwithkids #frederickdouglass #history (at Frederick Douglass National Historic Site) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5fbCxIBpzQ/?igshid=1vi3a4bme8dd7
