Śhālā Twam Community Hub / Bhoomija Creations “ The site contained two mature mango trees that became the conceptual and spatial anchors of the project. Instead of maximizing built area through site clearance, the architecture evolved around the existing ecology. One tree is integrated directly into the built footprint, while the larger canopy defines the open-air theatre at the centre of the project. This approach dissolves conventional distinctions between building and landscape, interior and exterior, and formal and informal occupation. The program includes a flexible yoga hall, an organic clothing unit with boutique display, supporting rooms functioning as changing spaces or occasional living quarters, and a modest backstage serving the theatre. Circulation moves through shaded verandah and semi-open transitions, allowing activities to overlap naturally. Yoga sessions, workshops, storytelling events, music gatherings, children’s activities, and informal neighbourhood interactions coexist within the same spatial framework. The architecture deliberately avoids rigid boundaries, allowing the project to evolve through everyday use.”

St. James Town Community Corner
St. James Town Community Corner is a community hub that offers a number of services to the residents of St. James Town. It is located on 200 Wellesley Street East and is attached to a high rise building which is part of Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC). The Corner operates through a Service Providers Network, which is called the St. James Town Service Providers’ Network (SJTSPN). Through SJTSPN community members and service providers from across Toronto come together to access the needs, resources and difficulties the community has. Through their assessments, they collaborate with one another to have programs and services in place. They also advocate for policy and system changes within the community. SJTSPN have monthly meetings with representatives of each agency to discuss how the programs are running and what else needs to be done to better the community. They have a common goal of seeing St. James Town Community Corner grow into “vibrant, safe, and healthy” community (St. James Town Community Corner, 2017). St. James Town is part of the 13 most economically deprived neighbourhoods in Toronto. It is also considered a high turn-over community, consisting of many newcomers (St. James Town Community Corner, 2017). They call St. James Town a “multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, multi-linguistic” neighbourhood (St. James Town Community Corner, 2017). With such diversity, there are different needs for the residents and The Corner has continuously worked to accommodate them. The Corner has onsite nurses, health access workers, housing workers, and immigration services that are available for residents who come in. They have their own offices as well. Before entering The Corner, you would be able to see that there is a board that has the programming for the day. On the left side wall, there is a small mural painted by the children in the community. When you enter The Corner, you are greeted by reception. Many of the people who work at The Corner are friendly and approachable. With this kind of atmosphere, residents who come in there are able to feel that it is a safe and inclusive safe, free of judgement. Residents of St. James Town experience discrimination based on living in that neighbourhood. The stigma revolves around the neighbourhood being labelled as a ‘bad’ neighbourhood for containing what overall society views as ‘social ills’ such as people with low-income, hidden prostitution, and people who exhibit mental illness. These are aspects which are seen as deviants to a 'healthy society’ and therefore perpetuates the stigmatization. Inside the hub, they offer free printing services and free computer usage. There are also three community rooms used for programming and a kitchen as well. Across the reception desk is a board that lists information of programming in the hub and in the neighbourhood. There is another board that is across the computers that have pamphlets containing resources. Health Access St. James Town (HASJT) has 16 different health and social service organizations, including Progress Place, Dixon Hall, etc, which are part of the SJTSPN. At The Corner, there are intake workers that can refer you to any of these services. As gentrification becomes a primary issue in St. James Town, it is important to think about how the middle-class to higher-class individuals take up space in the community. The Corner, although it is inclusive to everyone, is primarily for the individuals who need services. People with a significant amount of money end up taking up the services that are not meant for them. Why do you think society stigmatizes lower-income individuals? With limited services for the individuals of St. James Town, what difficulties do you think service users and service providers may experience?
“Cathelijn de Reede has a vision: To turn every public bench in the world into a mini community hub. Living in Amsterdam, de Reede, who owns a communications and design firm , noticed something that bothered her. Even people who have lived next door to each other for years barely know each other ; friendly “good mornings” or “hellos” are rare. Amsterdam is not unique in this respect—a 2015 survey found that only 20% of Americans regularly spend time with their neighbors….” read the full article here

I was thinking about how there’d been no community hub stories for a long while, and just kinda wrote this. I have no re-read this, so there might be mistakes and what not, but here’s a little something I got inspired to write The community hub had gone quiet. So many members left, either to find another place or to simply get some distance, and those who remained could sense the tension. Arguments would break out over small things and with no signs of Him or the others, people began to turn on each other It wasn’t until a sense of realisation hit, knowing that what they had become wasn’t who they were supposed to be, that hings began to change. People began to build each other up again, walking past the artist room just to pay some compliments to those who still dedicated their time in there or stopping by the IT lounge to read the latest stories from the talented writers. Theorists began to speculate and hypothesise about what could be or what would be devastatingly awesome. People who had stepped back, or even left the bunker, began to come back; some permanently while others stayed for a few days a week Puppets in hiding and proud non-puppets were together amongst the growing crowd, and dedicated group therapy sessions were started for those who had concerns and wished to voice them to people who would listen It was getting better. Some would argue it never changed in the first place while others saw no improvement, but for the ones in the bunker, life was coming back to he community Until He showed his face again. Very brief in the thumbnail of a video, but recognisable enough that the sirens began to sound. Though exciting, no one really panicked. They all just smiled knowingly to each other, wondering if this would be the beginning of the next egopocalypse. They were ready, and with a new found comfort returning, the community gathered in the main hall to theorise, chat and prepare for what would inevitably come
A Puppet In The Hub
A while ago, I wrote a ‘community hub’ story and said about how I’d be an archivist who’s also a puppet. Last month I wrote this as kind of a follow up and had I’ve had it in my drafts for a while now. I even tried to post it a few days ago but it wouldn’t post…. I guess Anti isn’t happy with me sharing this information I’ve told you who I am and where I stand, but that’s only one side of my story. The other side is the times I claim to be put on the field, when in fact I’m at the PICH. The Puppet International Communication Hub. The PICH almost mirrors the community hub, except it always looks like it’s been abandoned. Some theorise that this was the site of the old hub, the one veteran members sometimes talk about, but the memory of the location was removed for security reasons. The beds are rusted, the computer screens cracked and the electricity barely works, but it’s enough when it’s needed. Only 10 puppets are summoned at a time to avoid suspicion. The ones that are summoned the most tend to be the fighters. Anti likes to check they’re still loyal to him since he has the least contact with them in between summonings. The fighters are always on the front line and any contact with Him would result in banishment. As an archivist, I’m not often called as I have contact every week through my personal computer, but I’m terrified whenever I have to visit the PICH. Last time was a year ago, but the memories still make me shiver. The basement cells, the ones used to treat puppets at the hub, are used for disloyal puppets here. The screams are painful to hear, especially when I’ve been in there. At the beginning, when I unknowingly swore my loyalty to Anti, I 'disobeyed’ and found myself below. My neck still burns, and I still limp if I walk around to much, but of course I’ve never told anyone why. Regardless, facing Anti himself is always the most terrifying. The conversations I usually have with him through my computer are quite friendly and often involve jokingly mocking each other, like two friends catching up, but I guess that’s his way of manipulating me to stay by his side. Facing him and having to appear brave… That’s a different experience. The strong smell of blood, the electrical pulses through your body, the pain when he produces your puppet, the voodoo doll he has of every single person who swore loyalty to him, and squeezes your neck, the fear this is the day he’ll discard you… It’s a check of loyalty I tell myself. A way of showing him that you will stay beside him through the hardship, but I’m frightened. If he discards me, I’ll end up below. He doesn’t let ex puppets leave, and if they do, they are forever marked and will be hunted. I had a friend leave for a summoning and never return, and I’m sure she’s below where He is torturing her for making jokes about him. There’s no escaping. There’s no going back when you let him in. The static in your mind never, ever goes away

JSE Community Hub (Y/N) Character Event
Original Idea Post Hello everyone, Nuclear here! This is a post for the Community Hub (Y/N) Character Event! (For short, it’ll just be labeled CHYC). For those who don’t know, for just a bit of a recap, the JSE Community over the past year or so has began to form an AU of its own whenever Ego content arises. This AU is best known as the Community Hub, where the entire JSE Community hangs out with one another face-to-face. This Hub is separated into sectors, based off of the category, or subject, of what people perform/do in the Community. When a video is uploaded, a giant screen, almost like a theater screen, is crowded around to watch together. What is usually written about, although, is when major Ego activity arises, the Hub catches on fire. Literally. In the aftermath (this is what is usually written), everyone comforts one another like a family. That’s just a basic rundown of the Community Hub AU, as far as I’m aware at least. What really isn’t spoken about all that much, on the other hand, is how the people look in the Community Hub. And that’s where an idea came to my mind. What if we drew ourselves in the style of the Community Hub AU? Date I decided, to keep things organized, the best day to begin this art event would be the very morning of Saturday, December 22 , to give people a day to get started with their drawings. RULES ~ This is an SFW art event. Please do not include any inappropriate additions to your drawing. The only exception is gore, which should only be kept to a minimum amount. ~ This is a drawing of you, a human . Please do not add any supernatural, other-worldly additions to your character (claws, sharp ears/teeth, wings, etc.). ~ If you feel uncomfortable drawing yourself, then you are permitted to add tweaks of your (Y/N) character design to slightly differ from your real-self look. ~ All (Y/N) character designs are required to wear the Hub Jacket design with their Septiceye Symbol shown in the circled areas of the example image below. ~ How you create your (Y/N) character is completely up to you. Digital, hand drawn, animation, sculpt, cosplay, however you feel is best to flesh out your character is allowed. ~ I would ask that all art under this event for your character please go under the abbreviated tag #CHYC , alongside your character’s tag that goes with their symbol. ~ If you finish your character early, please don’t post their final design into the tag until the assigned date for when the event begins. ~ This isn’t meant to be a competition! Just have fun getting creative! Hub Jacket The Septiceye Symbols represent which sector/subject your character participates in the most . The sector/subject your character participates in the most is chosen by what you personally do the most in the Community. All of the (Y/N) characters, I decided, would have a Hub Jacket to go alongside their sector to show that they are a member of the JSE Community Hub. I chose the AOT jacket as the baseline of the Hub Jacket design all the characters would wear. The Septiceye Symbols ***Remember that these symbols do not necessarily mean that you don’t participate in any other sector/subject. Your symbol only defines what you do most often. Also, be sure to additionally tag your post under your Septiceye Symbol’s tag.*** The New Member Septiceye | #NewMemberSepticeye - Any newcomers to the JSE Community Hub are given the Hub Jacket which heirs the dark green and light blue septiceye: The New Member Septiceye. The newcomer isn’t given a different Hub Jacket with a new symbol until they choose the sector/subject they participate in most. Overall, this septiceye is meant as a placeholder for one who is yet to be sure what they are interested in doing most once they first join the Community Hub. The Artist Septiceye | #ArtistSepticeye - Anyone who participates in digital drawing, hand drawing, sculpting, or anything underneath those categories the most is given the Hub Jacket which heirs the white and pink septiceye: The Artist Septiceye. The Writer Septiceye | #WriterSepticeye - Anyone who participates in any form of literature the most is given the Hub Jacket which heirs the brown and tan septiceye: The Writer Septiceye. The Musician Septiceye | #MusicianSepticeye - Anyone who participates in any form of composition of music the most is given the Hub Jacket which heirs the gold and and light green septiceye: The Musician Septiceye. The Viewer Septiceye | #ViewerSepticeye - Anyone who doesn’t (or very little) participate in any sector/subject, and rather watches uploads, instead is given the Hub Jacket which heirs the dark red and white septiceye: The Viewer Septiceye. The Editor Septiceye | #EditorSepticeye - Anyone who participates in photo, video, or audio editing the most is given the Hub Jacket which heirs the dark blue and black septiceye: The Editor Septiceye. The Theorist Septiceye | #TheoristSepticeye - Anyone who participates in the discovery/search of cryptic septicego content and theorizes the most is given the Hub Jacket which heirs the negative septiceye: The Theorist Septiceye. ***Symbols do not represent authority, privilege, or rank. We are all equally valid here.*** Remember that this event begins Saturday, December 22 under the #CHYC tag. If you have any other questions regarding this event, don’t be afraid to contact me through my DMs! I’m looking forward to what everyone comes up with this. See you there! - Nuclear @glixbitch @jacksoopticboop @depressed-owl-in-narnia @cloud-addict @lisassp @lppchan @fear-is-nameless @kasper-the-ghost @huffletrax @turquoisemagpie

I’ve had this in my drafts for months now. It was just a random idea, so here goes Luci sat in one of the many artist workshops within the community hub. She could feel her head spinning as her heart beat quickened. She could hear static ringing through her ears and infecting her brain with its taunting pull. Today was one of the rough days, when a quarter of the members were all lethargic, but many just assumed it was a community mood They didn’t realise that every so often, Anti pulls his energy from the puppets, causing them all to feel drained and suffer from their symptoms more intensely. Necks burn, wrists ache, static deafens and sometimes eyes flicker black for a second, and it become much more difficult to conceal the strings when they start to choke anyone who even tries to do anything but sit around Luci closed her eyes, and all she could see was static. She opened them, and the light burned. Every drawing of Anti felt like it was taunting her, and every drawing of the egos felt like a cross to a demon. She still refused to denounce her master and cut her strings, but she’d certainly considered it many times, especially when her friends made jokes to lighten the mood. They could never know she was tied up with other priorities…. Literally Another puppet entered the room and saw her covering her face with her hands. Luci knew them, someone they saw around on days like this, and they seemed to be in a worse state that her. She invited them to sit with her as they quietly chatted about their symptoms, remaining alert of their surroundings in case someone else walked in. It was comforting to know neither were alone in this battle, and more comforting to know that those who made it through would be rewarded come the next appearance. That’s what their energy went to after all So the puppets pay the price to keep their master alive during quiet times, but the reward is sweet when he’s back on the screen, smiling and taunting like always
Heya! Nuclear here! This is a special thank you to all those who bothered to take your time to participate in the #CHYC Event today! I didn’t expect it to round’ up the support in the post that it did, and after a day of being terribly ill, it really made my last couple of days worthwhile! After today, the tag will continue to be open to additions to characters that of which I will reblog any that are added. Thank you all once again so much! Have a lovely day! - Nuclear Name : Judith Affiliation : Editor (Click image for better resolution. Do not steal or repost.)
