My morning was AWESOME! I volunteered with a nonprofit organization called #Oneluv4art at the Anne Douglas Women’s center in #Skidrow . I really admired the kids drive and creativity as they created beautiful collage work using different media that was in front of them. I am so thankful to be able to give back and share my passion of art with them. Even though they all come from different broken situations there was a spark of passion and a twinkle in there eyes. A Rant (I’m not sorry): Today my lovely little man wanted to wear his sisters fancy dress. I didn’t see the problem both Makayla and I were wearing dresses so just thought he wanted to be the same. I can not believe how many horrid comments I’ve had from people. From ‘Isn’t he supposed to be a boy’ to accusing me of wrong doing 'Why would you do that to him’ 'You should get him his own dressing up’ 'What is her wearing?’ 'You should say no’. My boy is brought up in a house of female role models, he saw his mummy and his sister wearing a dress and wanted to join in. He isn’t 'gay’ I’m not determining his future, nor will I make him be bullied. Children see and do, he often takes my make up dresses and does his cheeks, he also loves a dolly and a pram. BUT he also loves mud, sticks, climbing, football and cars. Me telling MY son he can not wear an outfit is only punishing him. Why would I punish my son, you can’t play with that you can’t wear that. Why? Because some awful people have decided My son isn’t allowed to be whatever and who ever he wants? He’s my son, not yours I will allow him to play whatever he wants and he is free to just be a kid, exploring everything around him that he finds interesting. ✨T H I E R M I S S O N✨ “ you will never influence the world by being just like it” Eloise has done a lot of growing up this year, just a few days ago she said something, that honestly, I was so proud of. She said “I’m sick of being a sheep” 🙌🏻🙌🏻 finally! For the past two years I’ve been telling her to stop being a sheep, following the crowd, doing what everyone else is doing just to fit in, be more popular or whatever. Because she’s never needed to be. Ellie is, and always has been, a leader. She’s a queen on so many levels, I’m confident she could one day take over the world. This summer holiday it seems to have finally sunk in that a little less faffing about and a little more hard work could just make her dreams of joining the navy come true. She’s trying hard to study for her exams, she’s still very much into every sport imaginable and at times, it even seems she does actually have her head on her shoulders! 😅 she’s nothing like me and that’s exactly how I want her to be. ✨Ellie’s Mission: to make a difference in the lives of others by one day being in a position of power✨ . . Society has changed, Go back 50 years, there wasn’t a day go by where you didn’t engage conversation with another human face to face. There wasn’t a day you weren’t outside, majority of the world were friendly. My mum told me stories about how when she was little, they would leave the front door open, without a single care of what might come in. Now look at us. Take a good look. Go outside and what do you see. Everyone’s glued to their phones. Barely anyone communicates with each other. Going outside everyday day? Oh please, we can’t even step outside with fear of being seen by another. We double lock our doors every night in case of intruders. We care more about what other people think of us than actually caring about ourselves. The media rules our lives, we’re more aware about what happens to the Kardashians than the solar flares being emitted onto the Earth this very second. It’s shocking to see people idle by, Society is lazy, we’re sheep, being herded by the mainstream media. I don’t think of myself as immune to this, I’m suffering from this but only recently starting to realise and beginning to make a change. It’s time the Children of the Future decide to do something different, make the world a better place.
