This dog. This dog has no shame. She will bask in the yard and act like she can’t hear you. But quietly open a bag of treats a floor away at 5am and she’s awake and at your door in 30 seconds. I’m on my third hound, so I’m very used to a dog looking me dead in the eye and doing the thing I just told him not to do, but even that did not prepare me for a dog who’s vibes are simultaneously “Velcro dog” and “fuck you I do what I want”. Yesterday morning I was attempting to leave for work and had to stop every two steps to pet and snuggle this big squidgy head because she did not think I should be leaving the house. (She wasn’t being left alone. My cousin works from home and our other dog was there. She just believes that her pack should be with her at all times. If you come to her house you are considered her pack. ) Anyway, house hippos live up to social media hype. 10/10 def recommend unless you are a small rodent.

Important news! I’m allowed to share my sister’s tank baby now (or rather I finally asked if I could 😅) 💙 Lana is an 11 month-old Pitbull/XL Bully mix who acquired way too many allergies in like the last month. She’s a real sweetheart, listens extremely well and has all the energy in the world. Luna is not her biggest fan but they get along fine now. More pictures coming soon but this is the only phone pic i took of her today 😅

My dog is currently throwing a tantrum of epic proportions. You might be aware he air quality in the Chicagoland are is one of the worst in he country right now due to the Canadian wild fires. There was a day earlier this week that I noticed the smoke just looking across he damn street. Normally over the summer we go every day to the dog park. I started only taking her every other day this week due to said air quality. This girl is whining, throwing herself on the sofa, staring at me, pretending she needs to go out using her signal, like GURL WE’re not going today.

I present: this rude ass bitch

stepped on by my 42 pound puppy no less than four times this morning while I was trying to get out of bed.

Dogs are so smart. This is technically not my dog. It is my roommate’s dog. However, this toasty bagel has discovered on the mornings that I work in the office and get up much earlier than her mom, that my dog (seen here in a fetching pineapple shirt) Gets breakfast AND the good treat. Which means he technically gets the good treat TWICE a day instead of the measly once a day that she is offered the good treat. So the toasty bagel now gets up at 5am, most of the time doesn’t even go outside, just waits for me to bring Remus in, has breakfast with Remus, and then despite my urging to go curl back up with her mom, refuses to leave my bed until the good treat is produced. This is to the dismay of my dog, as she usually insists on sleeping in his spot. She’s laying in my spot again mom. Make her move. Once the good treat is produced and consumed she goes back to her room, goes back to sleep, and then often tries to scam second breakfast around 8am.
