Through a Mother’s Heart: Watching When Life Gives You Tangerines 🍊 I recently finished watching When Life Gives You Tangerines, and it left such a deep mark on my heart. With every episode, I found myself tearing up—not just because it was sad, but because it felt so real. As a mom, as an eldest sister “ Ate ”, and as someone who understands how heavy life can be at times, I saw pieces of myself in the story. The emotions weren’t exaggerated—they were quiet, raw, and deeply familiar. What I love most about this drama is how it reflects real life. It gently shows how love, family, dreams, and even society shape a person. There are moments of joy, but also sacrifices, misunderstandings, and struggles that many of us carry silently. It reminds me that behind every strong woman is a story of resilience and endurance. And even the title itself feels meaningful. Tangerines are simple, ordinary fruits—something you might see every day without thinking much about. But in the story, they quietly symbolize life’s seasons: sometimes sweet, sometimes sour, sometimes abundant, and sometimes scarce. Just like life, not every moment is easy, but there is always something to hold on to, something small yet meaningful. It’s the kind of story that doesn’t rush. It allows you to sit with the characters, to feel their pain, their hope, and their growth. And in doing so, it makes you reflect on your own life—the choices you’ve made, the dreams you’re still holding on to, and the people you love. This drama is not just something you watch—it’s something you feel. If you’re looking for a story that is heartfelt, meaningful, and close to reality, I truly recommend this. 🤍 With every episode, I found myself tearing up—not just because it was sad, but because it felt so real. The Montessori Toddler – A Must-Read for Parents As a first-time mom, I’m always searching for books that can guide me through parenting with confidence and calmness. The Montessori Toddler was one of those books that didn’t just give me information—it gave me perspective. What I loved most about this book is how it breaks down the Montessori approach in a way that feels simple, practical, and doable at home. It doesn’t push you into a rigid system. Instead, it offers gentle guidance, practical tips, and lots of suggested activities that help children learn independence, creativity, and confidence at their own pace. One thing I truly appreciate is that the book recognizes real-life parenting—there’s no pressure to apply everything perfectly. As a mom, I realized that while not every strategy will fit every situation, the principles behind them can be adapted in ways that work for our family. Overall, The Montessori Toddler gave me new ideas, alternatives, and a deeper understanding of my child’s needs and development. It’s a book I highly recommend to parents who want a calmer, more intentional approach to raising their little ones—without feeling overwhelmed.

Tommyknocks and Sandra not having to dress up for a mission makes sense, they're either out of the fight or got something entirely unique to back up. Is Nautilus just that experienced where he doesn't care anymore and goes on missions in his normal clothes?
Nautilus is actually the most experienced out of everyone there besides maybe Jackal and Butch, but as a getaway driver he looks infinitely less suspicious being in casual clothes idling in his getaway vehicle. He also thinks the whole “criminal” getup is overplayed, and thinks the others kinda look dopey in it.
🌸 Book Thoughts: The Surprising Power of a Good Dumpling by Wai Chim A personal book reflection from an Asian daughter and book lover First of all, this isn’t your typical book review. I’m not a professional reviewer, and I know my grammar isn’t perfect. I just wanted to share my honest thoughts about this story. As someone who grew up in an Asian family, I personally related to many parts of the book. I read this book back in 2020, during a time when I was trying to get out of a reading slump. Surprisingly, I finished it in just five days! That rarely happens for me. From the moment I picked it up, I couldn’t stop turning the pages. The cover instantly caught my eye (yes, I sometimes judge a book by its cover—sorry!), and the word “dumpling” made me crave food. That was enough to make me curious—and I’m so glad I gave it a chance. This book felt like a warm hug, like clutching a soft pillow when you need comfort. I grew up in a traditional Asian household where parents were strict and had strong beliefs about culture and how things should be done. I completely understand the expectations—respect, discipline, obedience, and patience—even when we don’t always agree with them. There are times of calm, but also moments of conflict. Family life is full of ups and downs, and this story captures that perfectly. Wai Chim’s novel pulled me in from the first few pages. Although I had mixed reactions while reading it—sometimes emotional, sometimes heavy—I still found myself drawn deeply into the story. Even though I’m not exactly like the main character, Anna Chiu, I could really feel her sense of responsibility. She takes care of her younger siblings, makes sure they’re in school, helps out at her dad’s restaurant, and carries the weight of everything while her mother stays in bed for weeks. Anna becomes the “stand-in mother” at home—and that’s something I could relate to deeply. As the story unfolds, it becomes more emotional. I found myself hugging the book (again, like a pillow!) and even crying at times. One of the most powerful parts of this novel is how it talks about mental health—something that is often misunderstood or overlooked in many Asian families. This book is not just about food, family, or romance—it’s about love, dreams, sacrifice, and the struggle to find balance in a world full of expectations. It made me reflect on my own family, and how important understanding, care, and patience truly are. All in all, I LOVE THIS BOOK so much. I still can’t get over it. — ✨ Quick Summary: The Surprising Power of a Good Dumpling is a heartfelt, realistic story about Anna Chiu, an Asian-Australian teenager who juggles school, her younger siblings, and helping out at her family’s restaurant—while her mother battles mental illness. Along the way, she meets Rory, a new delivery boy, who becomes both a distraction and a source of comfort. The book explores themes of family pressure, cultural identity, mental health, and growing up. — 📅 Read in: 2020 📖 Finished in: 5 days 😌 Reaction: Mixed emotions—sadness, warmth, and love 📚 Genre: Young Adult Fiction, Contemporary Fiction ⭐ My Rating: ★★★★★ (4.5/5) I laughed, I cried, I felt seen. This book gave me comfort—and dumpling cravings too.
