Returning to an old WIP and discovering random details about it. For example: 1. Regulus is alive here? Okay. Don’t remember that decision… 2. Why is Sophie blonde when I always picture her with dark hair? 3. I didn’t realize the boggart scene was that violent. I hope my readers were okay after that. 4. Gemma Farley is somehow an OC named Gemma Fawley, and also supports Grindelwald. Okay then… 5. Fem!Harry apparently has an academic rivalry with Hermione. Interesting. 6. CoMC is Slytherin/Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff/Gryffindor class now… Well, maybe that makes it easier for Hagrid? 7. I was really just throwing canon out the window here, wasn’t I?
Writing Lesson of the Day Fantasy prose, sometimes: “The obsidian haired warrior’s cerulean orbs shimmered with ineffable melancholy beneath the argent moonlight.” My Brother in Bhaal. He’s sad outside. I do love me some ineffable melancholy, though. [affectionate]
Feels like there’s something ironic about not being into the more unhinged parts of the Scooby-Doo franchise and then turning around to edit my Scooby-Doo fanfic, which is heavily referential to I Know What You Did Last Summer but the killer on the loose is pretending to be a local urban legend. Oh, and it’s still a goofy comedy. So there’s a murderer dropping bodies in a Halloween costume meanwhile Shaggy is doing a fart joke.
Refinement Hiatus: Status Update Blackwell walks into the Chapter Lounge. The sound of a baseball bat hitting an open palm catches the attention of a few chapters in the room. They quickly leave. Chapters Two and Sixteen are huddled around a table sipping coffee. Two pauses, the brim of their coffee mug is resting on their lips. “Nice adjectives you got there… would be a shame if someone were to make your content more accessible.” A chapter ducks behind a whiteboard. “I see you Twenty One. You’re about to get fucked !”
