Repost @wild_wanderns ・・・ This is the stance required to keep your rambunctious toddler from running off the summit of Mount Washington! Flying with little ones. We’ve just got back from our trip to Florida and I have to say I was dreading the flight for many reasons. We had flown with A when she was nearly a year and again to Florida when she was 18 months but for some reason 7 months and 3 years was a more terrifying prospect. I packed endless snacks for A to keep her at bay and I also applied a ban to normal rules whilst on the plane. The last thing I wanted was to disturb the rest of the plane with a screaming toddler. Thankfully she was an angel. Getting her to sleep was tricky as she just wanted to watch the TV but eventually she dropped off. Needless to say she didn’t eat hardly any of the snacks. G was also an angel. I made sure that she had her dummy or a bottle for take off and landing to help with her ears and just let her sleep whenever she wanted. The crew were great at giving water to heat up the bottles we had and as we had a bulk head seats they also gave us a chair for her to sit in. It was very helpful to give us a break for holding her and for her from being held all the time. Security was much less of a fuss than I thought too with regard to baby milk. They let me take cooled pre-made bottles in a cool bag with freezer packs in it. (It is worth checking the security at the airport you travel from though just in case.) In our case both Gatwick and Orlando allowed milk and cool bags in addition to pouches of food. Sizes didn’t matter as baby food is excluded. My only recommendation for security with toddlers is to ask if they can go through with an adult. A wasn’t keen going on her own and was scared. Thankfully she was allowed to hold my Mum’s hands while she walked through. We also had a bit of an issue with her favourite stuffed animal going through the X-Ray machine. Next time I would distract her and just have another people with me pop it on last when she wasn’t looking. Hindsight is always a great thing though. All in all a successful trip that fills me with confidence for the future.

That was one rough night! Every night on our road-trip so far one baby or another has woke in the night and sat screaming as they can’t find their do, do (dummy, pacifier, whatever you want to call it) Well when you only have thin walls and neighbors with canvas you know that those screams will be heard across the camp. We are in a bunk bed so the only way to get to them is down the ladder. And let me tell ya with my still bruised bottom (from falling downstairs) it’s not easy. Last night 3 times I had to get up.(or you know down.) Life on the road certainly has its challenges. #lifeontheroad #motorhomeliving #motorhomelife #roadtripwithtoddlers #travelwithtoddlers #travelwithtwins #roadtrip #mumlifeontheroad #mumlife (at Treloy Touring Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1qJ1BbFKm2/?igshid=45z43erjxh1h
It was great to be home and we had a pleasant flight. 2 toddlers sat right behind us ( joy joy … 🙉🙈) and toddler 1 screamed “ pa pa, ik wil naar huis … ” then toddler 2 asked “ pa pa, ik neem de vliegtuig mee” … bam bam kicking on the chair ! then pa pa said “ hou op! die meneer is boos … ” OOPS! I laughed and I told him that he is my hero coz he travelled with 2 toddlers and a baby .. have fun, man !! A awkward silence and the kids kept kicking my chair … well extra chair massage, I wish 🖕🏽#niceisnice🇫🇷 #airportnice #travelwithtoddlers #chairmassage #homesweethome🏡 (at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol)

🌿Because camping with tots is messy.🌿 We always make sure to bring wipes wherever we go, especially camping. Besides clean heinies, we wipe s'moresy, and in this case, chalky faces, sticky hands, and everything in between! @happylittlecamperclub makes safe, biodegradable, alcohol free wipes with a touch of aloe. These are perfect for mama Earth 🌏 and for sensitive skin like myself and Silas have. We also love them because the aloe helps soothe sunburn and bug bite itches on the go. These wipes are must haves for the adventurous and the #ecoconscious family! #sponsored . . . . . . . . . #ecofriendly #campvibes #exploremore #getoutdoors #travelwithtoddlers #livefolk #liveauthentic #livethelittlethings #socality #vscomoms #clickinmoms #childhoodunplugged #letthekids #letthembelittle #motherhoodunplugged #momswithcameras #thatsdarling #darlingweekend #babywipes #organic #livehealthy #thehappynow #petitejoys #our_everyday_moments (at BlackHawk Lake Campground)
Throwback Thursday. 7 years ago we were on holiday in Mallorca. It wasn’t the best holiday we’ve ever been on. Lots of things went wrong. However looking back there were lots of good moments. Back then my mental health wasn’t in a good place. So little mishaps and toddler tantrums were amplified. It’s looking at the smiles on the faces of these kids that makes me realise that even though there are bad moments from time to time there is some good to be found if our mindset lets it in. I’ve worked hard to get my mindset where it is. (That and going through a life threatening time) and don’t get me wrong I still have some deep dips from time to time! But I’m going to continue working hard to keep on top of my mental and physical health too. So that when opportunity’s like our Mallorca holiday arise I can grab the opportunity, let any negatives drift away and make a ton of good memories. Have you had a mindset shift? Leave one tip that helps with grabbing those positives and let thing go of the negatives!? #travelfamily #travelwothtwins #travelwithtoddlers #mallorca #mindsetmatters #graspingthemoment #lettinggoofthenegative #posotivemindset #changingthenarrative #reframeyourthoughts #turningaround #40yearoldmindset #posotivevibes #travelblogger #discoverunder2k (at Palma De Mallorca, Spain) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDQc8poFGQB/?igshid=1fq6xdkvoq4bo
And back to San Diego
We got up early the next morning to meet Brianna and Mari for a hike at Torry Pines. On our way we hit the Bagel Shack . We had eaten here with Kenney and Amanda when Amanda was pregnant with Zippy. Zippy seemed to like it then, and we have proof she likes it now: Amanda recommends the french toast bagel. Zippy recommends the strawberry or pink bagel. We payed for parking and met Mari and Brianna for the hike. We ended up having to hike up the road to the trail, but it didn’t seem like the girls minded. Once we got up to the top we had a snack and enjoyed the view And set off again These two had a great time with each other. And the views were breathtaking. We even saw some dolphins! But the best parts for the girls was the cable that they played with And the water Their reward for the two mile hike was the beach. Zippy liked the surf at this beach much better And of course the kelp All and all this was a great experience for the parents and the toddlers in the group. Great views, an easy hike, and fun beach with gentle surf. We’ll definitely be back.
