Am I the only person who hates performative nature people. Like I’ll see people who have never gone outside repost videos of hiking views or videos about being free with footage of actual hikers and campers but I know theyre not a nature person and probably wouldn’t be able live like that. Or people who repost a sports video but they don’t even do that sport for example surfing, snowboarding, dancing ect. Like as a professional athlete in environmental sports it’s just feels so stupid when people pretend to be interested in these things on social media but never talk about or even try it irl. Like for example my dream is to live in a van and travel to places where I can surf and snowboard and be a sports event videographer. But I’ll see some guy who has never spoken to me about wanting to live in a van repost stuff about van life. Like I’m not gate keeping I think more people should go out and enjoy nature and especially sports but it just pisses me off when people who don’t even go outside for walks act like they’re a nature person on social media.
