I’m reading this Michael Jackson magazine cause I’m trying to cut down on screen time a little bit but I think we as a fandom…which I don’t even know if I should consider myself a part of this fandom considering I listened to thriller and had a lot as a kid and only just now listened to Off The Wall-Invincible but I think we underestimate just how big of a deal the Wiz was to Michael’s career in retrospect Cause I would argue Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad would’ve never happened or at least would’ve been very different without Quincy Jones, and those albums MADE Michael Jackson. When you think of Michael Jackson you probably think of “Beat It” “Smooth Criminal” “Rock With You” “Billie Jean” or “Bad”. Those songs would’ve been different without Quincy Jones. He met Quincy Jones when he was the Wiz’s musical director. Michael Jackson’s solo career would’ve look different imo if he never played The Scarecrow.
