Alfonso Suarez Pomegranate. The Alhambra. Arc I The highest representative of Nasrid architecture in the world is the city of Granada. Nasrid art refers to the last stage of Hispanic-Muslim art, specifically that which developed during the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries. Nasrid architecture presents a sober exterior and a highly recharged interior. At this stage, the horseshoe arch was also discontinued in many buildings and greater importance was attached to the banked semicircular arch.

The Courtyard of the Lions. Traditionally, an Islamic garden is a cool place of rest and reflection, and a reminder of paradise. The Qur'an has many references to gardens, and the garden is used as an earthly analogue for the life in paradise which is promised to believers. There are surviving formal Islamic gardens in a wide zone extending from Spain and Morocco in the west to India in the east. Famous Islamic gardens include those of the Taj Mahal in India and the Generalife and Alhambra in Spain. The general theme of a traditional Islamic garden is water and shade, not surprisingly since Islam came from and generally spread in a hot and arid climate. Unlike English gardens, which are often designed for walking, Islamic gardens are intended for rest and contemplation. For this reason, Islamic gardens usually include places for sitting. Nasrid glazed ceramic tiling panel with geometric decoration, from a plinth in the Alhambra. It corresponds to part of a geometric sebka design, or rhombus network, composed of four black pieces and five white pieces - one of the latter very lost. All the pieces have the same shape, with a mixtilinear profile, that is, with straight and curved edges. This shape resembles a stylized flower with a cut stem at the bottom, a quadrangular calyx open at the top in a kind of two symmetrical leaves and, to top it off, a central almond-shaped fruit. The magnificent wall of Nasrid Palace. The Nasrid dynasty (banū Naṣr) was the last Arab Muslim dynasty in Iberia, ruling the Emirate of Granada for more than 250 years from 1230 until 1492. They dynasty rose to power after the defeat of the Almohad Caliphate in 1212 at the Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa. Twenty-three emirs ruled Granada from the founding of the dynasty in 1230 by Mohammed I ibn Nasr until January 2, 1492, when Muhammad XII surrendered to the Christian Spanish kingdoms of Aragon and Castile. Today, the most visible evidence of the #Nasrids is the #Alhambra palace complex built under their rule.
