‘Just found out there was an official picture book for La révolution française (1989) by finding it second hand today I’ve flipped through it and it’s a delight of good quality pictures (I will post some tomorrow !!) but most of all it’s not Thermidorian at all like the movie is ??!!! Thermidor is explained properly and the book will even hit you with banger like “what was Thermidor ? The end of all promises of social equality. ” the book is prefaced by Jean-Tulard, but the good texts are written by someone named Alain Monchablon (I’ve never heard of him before).

I do not know what has compelled me to listen to LRF in the middle of the night. I must be utterly depressed…
