I’ve always considered myself a weak person, I am the sort of people that cries about pretty much everything, every movie, every episode of a series, a person who feels sorry for the roaches when someone wants to smash them. For any reason I got the idea that I was one of the weakest people I knew and that made me be afraid of going through certain situations in my life. For example, I have always said that I wouldn’t be able to handle it if my parents got a divorce, (I’m almost 23 years old…), I don’t think I could handle the death of a person from my family, or of a friend; I suck at closure, I feel like I may can live without certain people but I really rather not. But through my life I have realized that I am the opposite of weak. Because I have been hurt so much by different people and I’m still here, walking and living my life. A strong person isn’t the person that doesn’t care about anything, and people can walk in and out their lives without them noticing. A strong person is a person that opens their heart and gets hurt and can still smile the same, and love the same. A person who is loyal to their feelings and that is not willing to hurt others just because someone hurt them. Of course I have cried my eyes out and have thought I wasn’t going to be able to make it through the pain, and of course I have walked the other way when I see a person I am not yet ready to face, but I eventually look at them in the eye and even if they can see the scar they left in my eyes, first, they see the huge smile I’m wearing on my face.

Today, I watched a video on Facebook. Apparently, the video was inspired by a piece writen by Krysty Wilkinson and video via Jay Shetty. The video doesn’t have a name but i will put the link at the end. The video starts saying “we are the generation that doesn’t want relationships”, and focuses on saying that we are all about looks and photos, no feelings and just pretending. A few months ago i tweeted “Todas las relaciones perfectas no son perfectas” (every perfect relationship is not perfect), when i tweeted it i did it for the same reason this video talks about, because behind a cute picture there is always a hidden fight, or a hidden problem. When i started my whole, “learn to be alone” life, it was mainly because i realized relationships are constant problems and insecurities, which i am not missing, right this second. But when i watched a video i had this thought: “How are we supposed to know how to love if this is all we were ever taught” I mean, did the person who made the video ever sat down and thought if any person ever said: “i know what love is and i have the choice to have a meaningful relationship with problems and communication but i choose to mess it all up and make it meaningless”?. Forgive me, but i’m a romantic, and i think that when you find the person that you want to spend your life with, you stop messing around, and try your best to give the best you’ve got in you. But if you don’t have that motive for a person, probably means that person is not right. And don’t get me wrong, I also agree that having meaningless relationships is a waste of time, but that’s just our society, and we don’t know any better. So, sure, we are the generation that doesn’t want relationships, and settles for just a one night stand, or a one feeling thing, but we don’t know any better, but if you think about it, there are people that choose to be with one person only, and to work hard for what they have, so we can say also that: “we are the generation that stays in a relationship because we really want to, that give more because we feel like it, that IF we get married it will be because we will decide to and no because society is pushing us… because actually our society’s opinion is completely opposite”.
