Today, I say goodbye to someone who may never have known the full depth of what they meant to me. Ours was not a love story written in grand gestures or shared promises. There were no anniversaries to celebrate, no photographs of us together, no future plans whispered between us. Mine was a love that lived quietly in stolen glances, in silent prayers, in the spaces between words left unsaid. And yet, it was real. You were a chapter of my life that existed mostly within my heart. You inspired kindness when the world felt heavy. You brought light to ordinary days without even trying. You made me believe that admiration, respect, and affection could exist without possession. Some may say that unrequited love is a sad thing. But today, as I remember you, I do not think of sadness. I think of gratitude. Thank you for existing in my life, however briefly and however imperfectly. Thank you for the lessons you never intended to teach. Thank you for showing me that the heart is capable of loving generously, even when it expects nothing in return. There is a particular grief that comes with losing someone you never truly had. It is mourning not only the person, but also the conversations that never happened, the memories that were never made, and the possibilities that will now remain forever unwritten. But grief is, after all, a reflection of love. So today, I choose not to dwell on what could have been. Instead, I honor what was. A beautiful soul crossed my path. A heart I quietly cherished existed in this world. And for that alone, I am grateful. Wherever you are now, I hope you have found peace beyond pain, light beyond darkness, and joy beyond understanding. You may never have known that you were loved in this way. Perhaps that is one of life’s gentlest tragedies. But know this: your life mattered. Your presence mattered. And the love I carried for you, silent, unspoken, and unwavering, will always remain one of the most beautiful parts of my story. Rest peacefully. Thank you for 11 seasons, Stephen! Thank you so much Stephen Colbert, you gave us 11 seasons of late night entertainment and a lot of funny moments I enjoyed. And considering you have always been there in our tough times, you made us laugh, smile and cry every single time and thank you for being a friend in our lives, who knows we might see a couple of new projects that you are going to make. Imagine being the quiet kid in the class, ready to walk away after 5 whole years studying with your head down. Only to realise there are people who want to say goodbye to you before you go. And that’s when it hits. I really spent five years studying and just like that, I’m gonna go chase my dreams. So are all these other people who studied by my side. Didn’t even realise someone would want to say goodbye. Didn’t realise that even though I didn’t talk much or go around, I was still someone that somebody wanted to say goodbye to. Talk about insane.
