D&D? In My V:TM? It’s more likely than you think. Context: Wizards dropped the release schedule for their ‘partnered content’ in D&D Beyond for Q3 . For a few years now, for those not aware, Wizards has been piping in content from other creators that you can buy and use through D&D Beyond. This one, as a long-time fan of WoD, for all its flaws (and believe me, it’s had a fair few!) is… I don’t want to say painful, but it is a little frustrating. It makes it harder to say 'hey, if you want to do 'x’ in a game that’s more suited for it, here’s game 'x’ for you!’ At the same time, there’s an argument to be made that this could serve as a 'gateway drug.’ “Did you like playing melodramatic vampires in a fantasy setting? Come play melodramatic vampires in a * modern setting! * Good news, mages who try to fireball you will get their asses kicked by Paradox! Bad news: Rocket launchers and guns are a thing now.” I dunno. It’s just weird to me. I’m rather torn on it.

Monster Manual - Crab, Giant Giant crabs are surprisingly common for large versions of small animals. One could even compare them to the ubiquitous giant rats and giant bats. Their great size does not change the crab’s behavior. Giant crabs almost always prefer to hunt smaller prey they can grab with their claws. When carrion is available, giant crabs will fight for the spoils. As is the case with many giant creatures, their smaller kin will congregate around them in large numbers for protection. Regardless of their habitat, giant crabs need water over their gills to breathe. Using heat, magical or mundane, to dry them out will cause the crab to abandon a fight in search of water. – Re-using the Carcinus color scheme for simplicity’s sake. I want to get the rest of Chapter C done with so we can embark on the grand odyssey of Chapter D.
My DnD players are being slow with their questions. /aff I put out a puzzle and I still am waiting for the winners to submit their questions, so my ask box is open for the next few hours for anything CRK Dungeons and Dragons related. Players, you guys have the Discord and three of you still have at least one free question over there, so don’t flood my ask box unless you’re not one of the winners or I sic the Shadow Hound and Molded Cake Hydra on you. /silly
2026-06-17: Hex Stocking - C-016 - Honey Locust Grove (Resource) A thick grove of thorny trees grows here, separated by railroad tracks. The trees seem to be giving off a sweet, floral scent. The railroad exits to the North and South. Notable Feature: Resource (Seed Pods) Honey locust trees grow here. Although the hard wood can be harvested, it is much easier to collect the seed pods. The leathery brown seed pods have a sweet pulp inside them that can be eaten raw or placed in water to make a sweet drink. Characters who spend a Watch here find and process enough seed pods to make 3 rations. Watch out for the thorns, though!
so one of my classmates is planning a d&d campaign and i figured it’d be a good time to finally use this char i call them ether for short! truth be told i don’t think i changed them much in terms of design. backstory on the other hand… well tbh i didn’t have much aside from the basic details until this campaign was announced . i recall i designed their body first before giving accessories and at one point i was thinking if i should clothe them… i decided no towards the end and gave them accessories. also, i think they used to have a mask that i got rid of? i am going to have to yap about my char so here are some random facts: of course ether is currently travelling with a group of adventurers (not established yet, still waiting for spots to be filled), and rn its goal is to escape the warring land they’re in likes making potions and learning about nature, strangely interested in arthropods can’t exactly talk, but can produce noises - mostly communicates using common sign language (idk sign language irl unfortunately) scared of dark places - he’s fine as long as there’s even a little light (do warforged get nightmares?) doesn’t need to eat as warforged typically don’t, tho she technically can ? it doesn’t have a mouth so it’s a little annoying inb4 my dm also makes warforged need to consume motor oil throughout the campaign *looks at @zelan-brainrot *
I am afraid that when my overnight work schedule is created, I’m only going to be left with the options to play D&D with my coworkers—since we’ll be asleep around the same time every day—or to find people online who live several time zones away.
Prism sat looking into the flames, her mind lingering on what she had seen in the abandoned shrine. The statue had moved! The little metal figure had raised its arms and turned its head to face her. ‘Help me!’ it had said. Hadn’t it? She could have imagined the whole thing, couldn’t she? The whole thing could have been a dreamy vision brought about by the last vestiges of the spider’s poison - a final flourish before it left the stage. Prism shook her head. She knew what she had seen. ‘Help me!’ it had said. She bit her lower lip and looked around. The others were fast asleep; Ty was snoring lightly whilst Ancelyn lay on his back, as stiff as a corpse. Prism shuddered, her mind rocked by the momentary memory of the fallen dwarf, Kharvan. Ayelen was curled in a faetal position. How typical of her; just like a child. Prism half-expected to see the cleric clutching a stuffed animal to her breast. She stood up and began to pace up and down the tiny cell, feeling as trapped as any would-be prisoner. The party had returned to the cell after the cave-in. It had been the only room they had found undamaged by the recent collapse. She looked in the direction of the gaoler’s room. The shrine could have escaped the worst of it, she told herself. Maybe she could still snag the little statuette. She looked back at her sleeping companions and then at the cell door. She would only be gone a few minutes. They wouldn’t even know she had been away. But that meant leaving her friends unguarded. Prism would be first to admit her morals, especially those concerning the finer points of ownership, were flexible on occassion, but loyalty to those she cared about? Now, that was another matter entirely. ‘Help me!’ it had said. But one look at Ty’s resting face told her she wasn’t going anywhere. Muscles relaxed, he looked so young and innocent. He’d seen far too much in the two brief decades of his life; they both had. Much more than either one of them should have. Prism sighed and sat back down by the fire, warming her hands. She stared into the flames. ‘Help me!’ it had said. She bit her lip again, and tried to think about something, anything, else. Time passed achingly slowly, its passage marked only by the dwindling flames of the fire. Eventually, however, her watch was over. ‘Get some sleep,’ Ty told her. ‘It’s my turn.’ At last! Prism smiled gratefully at her friend, but headed towards the cell door. ‘Hey,’ Ty hissed in a loud whisper. ‘Where the hell are you going?’ ‘To powder my nose,’ she replied. ‘Not like any of us is carrying a chamber pot in our packs, you know.’ Ty visibly relaxed. ‘Want me to come with you? As a look out, I mean.’ ‘I think I can manage.’ ‘Of course,’ he said. ‘Well, don’t wander too far. It might not be too safe out there.’ Now, there’s an understatement. ‘I won’t be long, I promise.’ Prism stepped into the corridor and headed straight towards the gaoler’s quarters. ‘Help me!’ it had said.
