If every region had a specialist for every type (Gym Leaders and Elite Four) Like it says on the tin, what if every Pokemon region had a specialist for each and every type? Each gym leader and elite four member will have a corresponding badge. I will also list the champion for each region. This is all for my AU, hope you enjoy! KANTO Forrest (Fairy, male) Hug Badge. Forrest is Brock’s youngest sibling, and despite still being in middle school, he has proven effective enough to act as the Fairy type gym leader for Kanto. He hopes to become a breeder like Brock. Brock (Rock, male) Boulder Badge Erika (Grass, female) Rainbow Badge Miyako (Dark, transgender female) Ward Badge. Miyako is the Dark type gym leader in Kanto, but her gym is in the basement of Kanto’s museum, where she acts as the night guard. She’s grown used to being more active at night, but since she has to guard the museum at night, she will only allow challengers during the small time where she is neither working nor relaxing. Webber (Bug, transgender male) Silk Badge. Webber is a total daredevil, and gets around by paragliding alongside any of his Pokemon that are capable of flight, like Venomoth and Beedrill. He also lives and works at a small network of treehouses, inspired by a town in Hoenn. Sabrina (Psychic, female) Marsh Badge Blaine (Fire, male) Volcano Badge Tanner (Ground, nonbinary) Earth Badge. After years of Giovanni running his gang out of the Ground type gym, his disappearance finally left an opportunity for Tanner, a farmer who’s a lot stronger than their wiry frame looks. Besides farming and running their gym, Tanner’s main goal is to fill the cracks that Team Rocket left behind. Surge (Electric, male) Thunder Badge Janine (Poison, female) Soul Badge Amarys (Steel, female) Canyon Badge Misty (Water, female) Cascade Badge Hayate (Flying, nonbinary) Aria Badge. When they’re not travelling around Kanto to find more unique sounds, Hayate runs their gym battles at a very echoey auditorium, though they close it so as to not irritate the entire town with sounds of Pokemon battles. Fumiharu (Normal, male) Quill Badge. When he’s not doing meditative yoga, Fumiharu can often be found writing tales of history and fantasy. Despite his advanced age and typically weak type specialty, he is the strongest gym leader in Kanto. Lorelei (Ice, female) Chill Badge Bruno (Fighting, male) Fist Badge Agatha (Ghost, female) Hex Badge Lance (Dragon, male) Fang Badge Trace (male) Spectrum Badge JOHTO Moriko (Grass, transgender male) Spore Badge. An odd balance between flower boy and wild child, Moriko is fairly unpredictable in his gym battles. That is, when he’s not getting distracted by interesting plants, which can happen quite often in his botanical garden gym. Falkner (Flying, male) Zephyr Badge Bugsy (Bug, nonbinary) Hive Badge Crispin (Fire, nonbinary) Jalapeño Badge Denki (Electric, male) Fritz Badge. He may be kind of a ditz, especially when getting zapped by stray lightning bolts that he seems to attract with no explanation, but Denki is very intuitive, whether he’s fixing electronics, battling challengers at his gym, or just helping people with any issues they might be having when he spots them. That being said, all the stray lightning bolts have left him fidgety to say the least. Whitney (Normal, female) Plain Badge Marlon (Water, male) Wave Badge Akira (Fairy, female) Glint Badge. She may be a Fairy type gym leader, but Akira is a total badass biker, and even surfs in the air on her Togekiss, not to mention her tough-as-nails Granbull. Day in and day out she proves that cuteness doesn’t equal weakness. Morty (Ghost, male) Fog Badge Chiaki (Rock, transgender female) Cavern Badge. She might not always be available, since she spends so much time in caves looking for crystals and gems, but Chiaki puts a thousand percent into everything she does, especially gym battles. And yes, she’s made extra sure to reinforce her mountainside gym to not cause another cave-in, even if no one got hurt the last few times. Chuck (Fighting, male) Storm Badge Jasmine (Steel, female) Mineral Badge Daichi (Ground, male) Plateau Badge. He may be big and strong, unfairly so in the case of the former, but Daichi isn’t a brute. He’s actually quite organized and extraordinarily gifted, especially with his maps and charts. Seriously, if you mess with his maps, he’ll pull out any and all stops in his gym fight, you won’t win unless rematching. Pryce (Ice, male) Glacier Badge Clair (Dragon, female) Rising Badge. With Bruno finally being a full time Elite Four member in Kanto, Clair was promoted to the Elite Four in Johto, and she’s working extra hard to prove she actually deserves it. Will (Psychic, male) Gaze Badge Koga (Poison, male) Mist Badge Karen (Dark, transgender female) Sable Badge Daigo (transgender male) Renewal Badge. The younger brother to the region’s Ground type gym leader, Daigo is just as bright as his big brother, if not more. Even when he was a little kid, he was doing advanced college-level work. As an adult, he is possibly the best Pokemon strategist there is. His one weakness, though, is that he sometimes struggles to put that genius to practice. HOENN Roxanne (Rock, female) Stone Badge Brawly (Fighting, transgender male) Knuckle Badge Wattson (Electric, male) Dynamo Badge Flannery (Fire, female) Heat Badge Rikuto (Ground, male) Mulch Badge. He may be called an oddball and a dirt farmer by many, but Rikuto doesn’t care. He knows his methods produce the best crops in multiple regions, whether his crops are in drenched wetlands or dry volcanic zones. Norman (Normal, male) Balance Badge Minoru (Grass, male) Grape Badge. A bit of a hedonist, Minoru might be a bit weird but he’s actually a pretty chill guy. He’s always experimenting with different berries to produce flavorful drinks. Sanseino (Poison, nonbinary) Catalyst Badge. Sanseino might have a problem with taking care of themself or taking breaks, but between running their gym and working as a chemist, they’re extremely productive. Winona (Flying, female) Feather Badge Cho (Bug, female) Cocoon Badge. She might be a bit of a stereotype as a Bug type gym leader working as an entomologist, but Cho doesn’t care, cuz she enjoys both of her jobs, especially when the latter gives her a chance to explore the world and find interesting insects and bizarre bugs. Yoshimitsu (Fairy, male) Fate Badge. A bit out there like most fortune tellers, Yoshimitsu tends to be pretty accurate with his predictions, even if he’s kinda vague sometimes. Tate & Liza (Psychic, male & female) Mind Badge Wallace (Water, male) Rain Badge Sidney (Dark, male) Rogue Badge. He might have been demoted to a gym leader since Juan took over as champion, forcing Steven to be the new Elite Four member in his stead, but Sidney’s actually okay with it, as it gives him a chance to more directly run his nightclub, as well as helping keep the peace a bit better. Phoebe (Ghost, female) Wisp Badge Glacia (Ice, female) Glaze Badge Drake (Dragon, male) Crest Badge Steven (Steel, male) Facet Badge Juan (male) Abundant Badge SINNOH Roark (Rock, male) Coal Badge Gardenia (Grass, female) Forest Badge Cheryl (Fairy, female) Bezel Badge. Whether Cheryl is running her gym or her jewelry store, she is often adorned with all manner of fancy, expensive baubles. She just does it for advertising for the most part, but hey, business is business. Sora (Flying, nonbinary) Twirl Badge. They might be short and stocky, but Sora is a master gymnast, practically dancing in midair with not a care in the world. Crasher Wake (Water, male) Fen Badge Chikara & Drayton (Dragon, transgender female & male) Horizon Badge. They might seem like just another online celebrity couple, but Chikara and Drayton aren’t slouches, making for quite a powerful pair. Haiiro (Normal, male) Sketch Badge. Despite his drab fashion and dull demeanor, Haiiro is quite ironic by being a master of colorful art. He actually takes a bit of twisted enjoyment from surprising fans at his art galleries. Maylene (Fighting, female) Cobble Badge Fantina (Ghost, transgender female) Relic Badge Byron (Steel, male) Mine Badge Tsukiko (Dark, female) Void Badge. She might have her head in the clouds a lot, gazing at the stars, but Tsukiko takes her work more seriously than people give her credit for. Though she definitely likes to show all of her astronomy equipment at her observatory before starting gym battles. Candice (Ice, female) Icicle Badge Odei (Poison, male) Heap Badge. He might just look like a run-of-the-mill garbage collector, but Odei is as effective as he is dirty. And yes, he does shower profusely, he just has a habit of getting covered in grime. Volkner (Electric, male) Beacon Badge Aaron (Bug, transgender male) Pupa Badge Bertha (Ground, female) Crag Badge Flint (Fire, male) Roast Badge Lucian (Psychic, male) Cerebral Badge Cynthia (female) Mystery Badge UNOVA Cilan (Grass, male) Herb Badge Chili (Fire, male) Spice Badge Cress (Water, nonbinary) Seasoning Badge Lenora & Cheren (Normal, female & nonbinary) Basic Badge Burgh (Bug, male) Insect Badge Lacey (Fairy, female) Pearl Badge Elesa (Electric, female) Bolt Badge Clay (Ground, male) Quake Badge Harlow (Rock, nonbinary) Bastion Badge. A military veteran with scars to show it from their glass eye to their prosthetic leg, Harlow still enjoys getting out and enjoying life every day they can, especially having fun challenging the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed gym challengers. Skyla (Flying, female) Jet Badge Brycen (Ice, male) Freeze Badge Smith (Steel, female) Forge Badge. Proof of a name fitting one’s job, Smith is often working with metal at the forge, whether she’s making tools or art. One thing is for certain though, even in just a tattered smithing outfit, she is just as hardy as her Steel type Pokemon. Drayden & Iris (Dragon, male & female) Legend Badge Roxie (Poison, female) Toxic Badge Shauntal (Ghost, female) Tale Badge Grimsley (Dark, male) Chip Badge Marshal (Fighting, male) Pump Badge Caitlin (Psychic, female) Elegant Badge Alder (male) Cumulus Badge KALOS Viola (Bug, female) Moth Badge Grant (Rock, male) Cliff Badge Ramos (Grass, male) Plant Badge Korrina & Ivor (Fighting, female & male) Rumble Badge Tarragon (Ground, male) Quarry Badge Canari (Electric, transgender female) Voltage Badge Gwynn (Ghost, female) Pall Badge Philippe (Steel, male) Chain Badge Corbeau (Poison, male) Venom Badge Olympia (Psychic, female) Oracle Badge Alizee (Flying, female) Drop Badge. Alizee’s only flaw is that being a cargo flier sometimes has her away from her gym, but whenever she returns to a line of challengers, she makes sure to keep going as much as she and her Pokemon can until every challenger is satisfied. Lila (Dark, female) Sonnet Badge. An esteemed poet, Lila is very artistic in her fighting style. The only weird thing is her tendency to speak in rhymes, haikus, and alliterations. Terne (Normal, nonbinary) Break Badge. Terne definitely enjoys their gym job more than their office job, but they need the extra money for their family, so they often try to liven up their office as much as possible. Wulfric (Ice, male) Iceberg Badge Siebold (Water, male) Simmer Badge Grisham & Griselle (Fire, male & female) Phoenix Badge Lebanne (Dragon, transgender female) Fury Badge Jacinthe (Fairy, female) Fragrant Badge Diantha (female) Vanilla Badge ALOLA Ilima (Normal, nonbinary) Den Badge Lana (Water, transgender female) Splash Badge Kiawe (Fire, male) Magma Badge Mallow (Grass, female) Lush Badge Sophocles (Electric, male) Power Badge Plumeria (Poison, female) Toxin Badge. When she’s not modeling or working as the new Poison type trial captain, Plumeria is part of the Team Skull Youth Program, giving troubled kids a place to get out their energy and antics in a safe environment. Acerola (Ghost, female) Abandon Badge Guzma (Bug, male) Infest Badge. Thanks to help from Professor Kukui and Champion Burnet, Guzma was able to start the Team Skull Youth Program as well as becoming the Bug type trial captain. He also enjoys working as a DJ on the weekends. Mina (Fairy, female) Color Badge Ryuki (Dragon, transgender male) Vast Badge Hala (Fighting, male) Mighty Badge Olivia (Rock, female) Ruins Badge Nanu (Dark, male) Sleepy Badge Hapu (Ground, female) Harvest Badge Kahili (Flying, female) Drift Badge Molayne (Steel, male) Gear Badge Anuhea (Ice, nonbinary) Squall Badge. Working all around Mount Lanakila, Anuhea balances their roles as the Ice type elite four member and expert climatologist, usually only leaving the mountain to research climate throughout the rest of Alola. Mana’o (Psychic, male) Synapse Badge. While he may be thoughtful and takes great pride in helping people with emotional troubles, Mana'o is a brutal yet fair opponent in the Elite Four. Burnet (female) Happiness Badge. The wife of Professor Kukui, Burnet is the most effective and powerful Pokemon trainer in the entire Alola region, occasionally bringing their kid Lei to watch her beat any challengers that manage to reach her. GALAR Milo (Grass, male) Farm Badge Nessa (Water, female) Shimmer Badge Kabu (Fire, male) Spark Badge Klara (Poison, female) Berry Badge Avery (Psychic, nonbinary) Aura Badge Bea (Fighting, female) Clash Badge Allister (Ghost, male) Shade Badge Opal & Bede (Fairy, female & transgender male) Enchant Badge Gordie (Rock, male) Ore Badge Melony (Ice, female) Wintry Badge Piers & Marnie (Dark, male & female) Veil Badge Gale (Flying, female) Shear Badge. A passionate meteorologist with a whole region of varied weather conditions to research, Gale sometimes gets distracted from her other job as the Flying type gym leader. Raihan (Dragon, male) Maelstrom Badge Wikstrom (Steel, male) Helm Badge. Having moved to the Galar region, Wikstrom is the most powerful gym leader in the land, and when he’s not training his team or battling challengers, he spars with any who wish to test their mettle. Taran (Electric, male) Bellow Badge. As the Electric type elite four member, Taran brings the thunder to his lightning-fast Pokemon as he plays his bagpipes. Glen (Ground, nonbinary) Mold Badge. Studying ancient art throughout Galar from cave paintings to mysterious henges of stone, Glen loves making art just as much as they enjoy their role as the Ground type elite four member. Darwin (Bug, male) Phylum Badge. Darwin might sometimes put even fellow biologists to sleep with his intellectual discussions, but when he’s not acting as the Bug type elite four member, he’s exploring anywhere and everywhere he can. He just wishes people didn’t use the term Evolution for what is, in actuality, metamorphosis. Will & Kate (Normal, male & female) Haven Badge. Both distant descendants of royal families, Will and Kate make almost weekly donations to any charity or organization they can, and yet still have more than enough money to live a comfortable lifestyle and train their Pokemon as the dual Normal type elite four members. Leon (male) Homestead Badge PALDEA Katy (Bug, female) Honey Badge Giacomo (Dark, male) Eclipse Badge Brassius (Grass, male) Bloom Badge Iono (Electric, female) Buzz Badge Mela (Fire, female) Nova Badge Kofu (Water, male) Seafood Badge Atticus (Poison, male) Nebula Badge Larry (Normal, male) Routine Badge Ryme (Ghost, female) Dirge Badge Tulip (Psychic, female) Luster Badge Grusha (Ice, nonbinary) Shred Badge Ortega (Fairy, nonbinary) Twinkle Badge Eri (Fighting, female) Collide Badge Tyme (Rock, female) History Badge Rika (Ground, nonbinary) Core Badge Poppy (Steel, female) Clank Badge Celestino (Flying, male) Lift Badge. His work as a travel agent may have kept him away from home for quite some time, partially due to getting lost a few times, but Celestino has returned to work as the Flying type elite four member, though not after getting a surprisingly emotional tongue-lashing from his far more careful brother Larry. Hassel (Dragon, male) Chroma Badge Geeta (female) Buffet Badge

Class Feature Friday: Antipaladin/Iniquity Cause (Pathfinder Second Edition Champion Cause) (art by DanielClasquin on DeviantArt) It’s time for our second to last champion cause, and the last one that had a presence pre-remaster. Originally called Antipaladins given their chaotic evil nature as a direct opposite of paladins, champions of this cause are meant to be everything a paladin is not. In fact this option is worth noting for the fact that is was in part the First Edition alternate class that shared the same name with this option that paved the way for the champion to evolve out of the paladin, creating powerful divinely-empowered knights that were not all good and just. But with the remaster came the end of alignment, and with it, the baggage of such holy warriors being divided along that strict system of morality. Instead, champions are now divided based on what they value and what they vow to uphold. And in the case of today’s archetype, these warriors values Iniquity. Champions of Iniquity are selfish, impulsive, indulgent, and independent. They do exactly what they want when they want, answering only to the divine power that gave them this power in the first place. Even without an alignment system, it’s clear that these figures are the polar opposite of Justice champions (formerly paladins), since they reject any concept of accountability for their actions. These unholy warriors are not necessarily insane murder-hobos, but their impulses are their guide. If they ever do anything that helps another it is because it also benefits them in some way, most usually in the form of payment, but any agreement they make only holds as long as these iniquitous champions find the benefits outweighing any inconvenience they experience. At their best, they are pitiless and cruel mercenaries, at their worst, they are petty tyrants with a cosmic benefactor that will do nothing to reign them in because setting them loose is the entire point. Indeed, unlike other causes, the powers that grant the path of iniquity do not choose someone for their dedication to the concepts, but because of a lack of discipline. They choose their champions because they know that setting them loose will bring about more violence and iniquity as a consequence of their actions, and if any antipaladin expresses any sort of fervor for the cause, it is because they have the brains at least to see that they are making the world more like what they want to see: might making right, whims being indulged, and power seized by those unfettered by the weakness of mercy or hesitation. If the powers granting this might ever tug on the leash, it is when they have a very specific interest in the situation, and then the champion might find their collar much too tight for their liking. So let’s see what they get! Like all causes, these champions get a reaction ability, theirs being a punishing aspect of their aura that rewards violence against them with more violence. Foes that strike them within their aura risk their very spirit being shredded by feedback damage. Additionally, the champion’s own reprisal against the offending party becomes more lethal as well. As they grow in power, the damaging effect lingers on such assailants, and even bystanders are not safe as they also take feedback damage. There is also a feat specifically for this cause. Vicious Vengeance improves the damage caused by their aura, making them all the deadlier to even stand near. Meanwhile, other feats fit with the tenets of evil and otherwise are just useful for them, such as Conceited Mindset, Aura of Despair, Cruelty, Corrupted Shield, Expand Aura, Smite, Greater Cruelty, Litany of Self-Interest, Gruesome Strike, Pale Horse, Divine Reflexes, Litany of Depravity, Instrument of Slaughter, Fiendish Form, Swift Retribution, and others that fit your build. This cause loves getting into the thick of things and butchering foes, not just because it’s where a melee class thrives, but also because their reaction makes hitting them back a painful process. With that in mind, this option is begging for a tanky build that can absorb a lot of punishment. There is no denying that these champions are evil, but with alignments out of the way, replaced by edicts and personal values, it can be less of a headache to justify playing one of these in a non-villain campaign. After all, a champion of iniquity is entirely self-motivated, so being motivated by the prospect of treasure and payment is perfectly viable even if they tend to leave a mess and things worse than they left. It could be the setup for an interesting foil for the rest of the party or a possible redemption arch, especially if the champion doesn’t mind waiting a bit ot achieve their selfish goals on occasion. Doreji the Blightblooded refuses to hide like the rest of his kin , the vishkanya seeing the tendency of his people to hide their true nature as a weakness and act of supplication. After all, humans cannot punish attackers with the lethal toxicity of their blood. Why should they rule? And who cares if the rest of his kind shun them. They’ve already proven themselves too weak. To most, Ulrich the Slayer is as he always has been , a cruel man and leader of an especially savage warband. However, in truth he has been dead for some time, his body being now ridden by a xoarian, also known as a corpse rider or intellect devourer. The creature has evaded detection fairly easily since the host was known for drunken forgetfulness and a complete lack of loyalty anyway. Worse still, the horrible aberration has pleased the dark god Ulrich worshipped, transferring his power to the creature. The party happens upon a mysterious girl clutching an amulet , who begs them to help her escape. The reason or her distress becomes clear when a figure clad in sinister black armor appears with a coterie of similarly-dressed troops. Though the figure claims something has been stolen from him, it’s clear that the amulet is not his to keep and his intentions for the girl are not motivated by justice.
