My Garage Needs an Intervention I missed a perfectly good day to go fishing. According to the weather forecast I saw last night, today was supposed to be cloudy with rain. As I sit here writing this, it’s cloudy all right, but there isn’t a drop of rain anywhere nearby. Apparently, the weather forecaster and I have different definitions of “rain.” Since I can’t blame the weather anymore, I guess I’ll spend the day in my shop… My Garage Needs an Intervention
WEEKS BEFORE MY FINAL EXAMS: WEEK TWO. FRIDAY + WEEKEND. Heeey, I’m alive again! I’ll finish editing my week two vid soon, I haven’t got all the clips together yet at the moment. I’m EXHAUSTED. Friday was supposed to just be a date with my boyfriend, we went down by the lake near where I live, got a bottle of wine and some snacks and sat on a pier to chill together. There were some incredibly loud tourists at the bar near where we were sitting, which KINDA pissed me off, cause like… they weren’t even yelling anything in particular, just everything they said was loud as hell. Anyways, it was sweet, it was romantic, the lake was nice. We were about to get up to go walk somewhere else, when we spotted a friend of ours, coming towards us. He was fairly stoned, and rather nervous, and he had just came to say hi but we offered to walk him home, since he lived fairly close to there, right on the bike path. Well, we thought it was close. It was, like, 20 minutes down the path. We walked with him, then dropped him off, then decided we should walk HOME on the bike path. End result was 2 hours of walking, half a bottle of wine drank, and getting home drunk and exhausted. Honestly, best side-quest that’s happened in a WHILE. I love side quests. Saturday and Sunday were spent on a camping trip with the RCP. It’s in a yard owned by a dude we’re friendly with, ‘cause that way there can be bathrooms and a decent place to cook food for a group of 40 or more people. We discussed the Hungarian revolution held against Stalin, and its unfortunate failure, we went to the nearby waterfall to swim, we made hot dogs and sang songs by the fire. There were four dogs, too, one belonging to a group of comerades, two to the host, the last to a sweet old woman who lives nearby. Two of these four were kind of an annoyance. The comerade’s dog was nervous, and kept barking at people. She did no harm, and was utterly beautiful, but we all got tired of the barking. The owner’s Cane Corso was also beautiful, and very sweet, until he started trying to mount people. Thank God those people were me and my uncle, both of us being utterly unafraid of dogs, because that thing was at least a meter seventy tall. The other two, a fat chocolate lab and a little potato-looking mixed breed, were the sweetest of angels. The lab came and licked my face during the political discussion. I spent the whole afternoon of the first day stoned. The waterfall’s pool was cold, and the rocks pointy, but it was overall very enjoyable. I loved socializing with my comerades. The bonfire was warm, and the revolutionary songs filled me with hope and companionship. (i don’t know why I’m writing so formally, maybe because I’m tired) A comerade got shitfaced drunk, and ended up throwing up for somewhere around 40 minutes. Despite being high, I helped keep his head up so he wouldn’t drown in the aforementioned vomit. He ended up falling asleep leaned against a tree. That part was kinda fun, though, since there were 3 other comerades helping me, and we were all joking around in the meantime. He was weirdly perfectly fine the day after. I went to bed when I realized smoking was starting to make me nauseous, and that it was 3 in the morning, and my boyfriend and the friend who was sleeping in my tent had already gone. The night wasn’t great. Three people in a two-people tent, warm and cramped, total darkness, and being slightly scared from the smoking. I probably got 4 hours of sleep, before waking up at 8 and leaving the tent. It was just too hot in there. Sunday I don’t remember super well, given I was so tired that at one point I stopped understanding human language, but it was nice. Mostly just socializing, being on bar duty, and helping clean the kitchen. The political discussion was about the schism in Stalinist beliefs between extremist sectarians and those who believe in popular fronts with the bourgeoisie. Crazy how within 5 years and 3 congresses of Comintern, Stalin went from opportunism, to total sectarianism, to cooperating with the bourgeoisie. How do you go from “socialfascism” to a popular front in a few years?? Anyways, we left shortly after the end of the discussion, and went home, where we slept from 7pm to 10am today. I’ll write a blog for today later this evening. Sorry I might sound incoherent, I’m dead tired.
